Speaker 0
That fresh produce stand there, that's a beauty. Speaker 1
What do you listen to? Speaker 2
My favorite murder podcast. Speaker 0
Jagger and Torrance podcast. The produce stand. Speaker 3
You heard the man. It's the produce stand, your favorite source for everything in that universe. I'm now your host, Tanya, Matt, and Victor on the mic. Tonight, we're talking some short shortsy season three. And just like Dola, we're feeling blessed tonight to introduce tonight's guest panelists joining us this week. He's a she's a moderator on the Letterkenny subreddit, a d gen and a good gal, and he's a podcaster and voice over actor, the host of How Are You Now among other podcasts. And we're so happy to hear his voice again. Please join me in making some noise for Awesome and Dean. Speaker 4
Who wants to set the tone, boys? He's gonna fucking set it. Speaker 0
Let's get on the boat then. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, This team will never lose again. Speaker 3
Welcome back to the Produsdan Dean and Awesome. How are you now? Speaker 2
Well, I'm just peachy. How are you? Speaker 3
Good. And you? Not so bad. Awesome. How are you doing? Speaker 3
Deadly. Very good. I mean, I know it's a long time coming. We we took, what, three weeks off at the end of July and August, and we took another week off yesterday or last week. But, you know, back at it, finally, we get to recap season three of Shores. Roll Speaker 0
out some summer holiday. Speaker 3
I know. I know. Exactly. I know. I think this is the most time off we've taken in in four years. So, you know what? Sue us. Anyway, it's great to have Dean back. It's great to hear your voice, bud. We'll we'll learn about everything that's been going on with you. But let's let's get going first with Seattle. Tonight's lineup, which apparently is me, then Tanya, then Matt, then Victor. And then, awesome. And and Dean will have the last word as our guest. Speaker 0
A little rusty there, bud. Speaker 3
I know. I know. I'm because I'm looking at my notes, and that's not the order I had earlier. But, anyway, here we go. So what have we been doing the last couple of weeks? Lots happened. I mean Oh my Speaker 3
Fan Expo happened. Speaker 5
Fan Expo happened. Speaker 3
We had an amazing time at Fan Expo. We got to meet, Kate Trevor Wilson, Michelle Mylett, Tyler Johnson, Evan Stern, Dylan Playfair, Andrew Herr, and, Nathan Dales. I mean, we met them all. Speaker 3
Yeah. They were all there except for, you know, Wayne. And it was great. They're like each each and every one of them were so nice and so generous with their time. I actually got two good chats in with them because I was there Friday and spoke to them then. And then when we all came the next day, we had we had great chats. And, Dylan Playfair, like, made our daughter's year by giving her giving her a signed picture of him as as, Gaston's son on on on Disney's Descendants, and she like, her eyes were, like, bugging out. She couldn't believe that he was talking to her and stuff. And, yeah, it was just what a crazy day and and, like, so so crowded and such a busy day. Like, I've been to one of those before, but it it wasn't that busy. Like, that was that kind of insane. It took us half an hour to get from one end of the, Speaker 5
Oh, I think it took longer than that. Speaker 3
Well, just to get from one from one room to another, it took so long because there's so many people. Speaker 0
Can can I add one quick comment though about the Playfair interaction? Mhmm. I was talking a bit before we started recording is that I was so impressed by that. I mean, I even said after, and I and I stand by that. That was my favorite moment of that entire day Speaker 0
Was Playfair and your and your girl there because the way he handle handle's not the right word. The way he interacted with her was so priceless. Her face and I even said, I'm like, this is what these events are all about. Speaker 0
Her face right there. She was just to the moon and back. Mhmm. And and he acted like we weren't even there, and I appreciated it appreciated him even more for it. Like, he just kinda like, everyone else, fuck off. Mhmm. And and just spoke to her. Mhmm. Let her have her moment. Sign the sign the photo for her, and and it made her absolute day. And and I was just, like, enthralled with how he did that and so impressed. So I just wanted to add that. It was a she's such a class actor. Speaker 6
And he did it with a hangover. Speaker 0
And he did it with Speaker 3
a hangover. Oh, and a great panel. Speaker 0
Evan Evan threw him under the bus after that one. Yeah. Speaker 5
me tell you, she so appreciated it too. Like, she she is she is so in love with that photo that he gave her. And the and the fact that he referenced it that, he's her pal Mhmm. She's like, are we friends now? Like, is is that it? Am I friends with him? And and she just did the, the she was just in the descendants, the theatrical play, because she's doing that for summer. And, so she was just she's beyond to the moon and back, and that photo has not left her side every single day. She makes sure that she she is the last thing she looks at every night. So Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 0
He was a he was an absolute Speaker 1
like, frame it and hang it over her bed on the ceiling or something. Speaker 5
Yeah. She is absolutely just yeah. She was in awe of him Mhmm. For sure. Speaker 3
And, last week, the reason we didn't record last week was because I was in Winnipeg, recording stories for Yes We Were Open for my work podcast. And let me, you know, say this. Every everyone I told that I was going to Winnipeg had the same kinda, like, response, like, oh, sorry. Winnipeg is a really nice city. I enjoyed my time Speaker 2
just maybe those people just don't like getting pegged. Speaker 3
Maybe. Well, I did have I did have somebody in at the airport who was from Winnipeg say that it can get a little stabby there. Apparently, Winnipeg has that that that reputation. Speaker 5
Well, there was there every time you called me, there was there was a siren going on Speaker 3
in the back. I gotta say, I don't know what it is about Winnipeg and dollars Dollaramas, they were everywhere. They were like Tim Hortons, one on every corner. But in terms of like, the city had good bones. It had great buildings. Some of them are just boarded. Like, it's just, you know You're Speaker 2
No. Get boarded. No. Speaker 3
But the city itself was beautiful. Like, I went to the the blue the stadium that the Blue Bombers play out of, and, it's it it could be a an NFL stadium. If it isn't the best the nicest stadium in the CFL, I don't know what is. They've got a gorgeous, minor league baseball park, their hockey arena. The downtown Winnipeg downtown is a nice city, and the buildings, it moonlights a lot in movies and as New York and Chicago, and I can totally see it. The architecture, it's that old style architecture. It's just the economy, and it's got a bad rap. Like, I feel like they just The winter's out. Speaker 6
It's the winter. Speaker 3
And I'm sure the winters are aren't great there either, but I feel like their problem is a marketing problem. I think if they had better PR and Speaker 3
You you know? Regina. Maybe they could turn things around. And it doesn't it doesn't help that, like, the one song that I know with the word Winnipeg in it is I Hate Winnipeg. So written by somebody from Winnipeg for for Great Speaker 6
show, though. Great show. Speaker 3
Yeah. Great show. But anyway, I really enjoyed my time there. I went to the the the Canadian Museum of Civil Rights, gorgeous place. I went to, Saint Boniface. I went I I toured the city Speaker 5
and You went on a boat ride? Speaker 3
I went on a a river tour. Speaker 0
On, like, a boat ride? Speaker 3
Yeah. It was a river boat, and and it took us up and down the not the Red River. The I can't remember how to say it. It's it's a native native Canadian, word. Anyway, I loved it, and, I think it gets a bad rap. Granted, I haven't been there in the winter, but, you know, I hope that, they can turn things around because it's actually quite a nice city. Yeah. That was my time in Winnipeg. Tanya, how have you been in the last couple weeks? Speaker 5
I have been incredibly busy. So you were away, and I was just it was just, like, one one hour at a time just trying to get through everything, getting the kids ready for school. We then as soon as you got home, we ended up well, our our son was sick, after Fan Expo. He was sick, so I was dealing with that. And, then we were went to work. We started taking apart the backyard and and throwing, a shed out. We should have actually asked Matt if he wanted the shed first. No. But, yeah, we took the shed apart. Speaker 0
Well, Al wasn't in town to help. So Speaker 5
so we've just been so busy. And this week, the kids went back to school. Huzzah. Mhmm. So that's been, crazy because they are not on schedule, and it has been, a bit chaotic trying to get them back on schedule and, getting our timing back. So hopefully, after a weekend, we can get ourselves back into shape and Mhmm. On time. Speaker 3
How have you been? Speaker 0
I'm good, man. I'm good. Thanks. Lots going on. We it's been, yeah, couple weeks. Fan Expo was pretty cool. Mhmm. Love the interactions. It was very overwhelming. I definitely found that. Like, we talked about how busy it was. They definitely have not chosen the most efficient, facility to host the Toronto Fan Expo. But Speaker 2
This is your first con? Speaker 0
Yeah. It's my first con. Cool. Yeah. Speaker 0
It was it was a lot to take in. But, I mean, like I said, I just big part was just the crowd, but how they funnel them between the two buildings that they do in Toronto, it was is a nightmare. Like, they just they're yeah. I I I was sitting in the middle of what was borderline and unruly mob, because of how it was centered. But, anyways, it was a really cool experience. I'm glad I went. The people watching was top of the line, so I could do that every time just for that. Back to school is here, so that's fun. I got kids in three different schools right now. We got the, my oldest is just starting high school, middle guy's into and my dog's coming out, apparently. Hi, Moose. Yeah. Speaker 0
He got kicked. The Moose got kicked outside. Speaker 3
Uh-oh. What did Moose do? Speaker 0
I don't know. He's probably pissing off wifey. Let okay. Moose is here. Yeah. Oldest is in high school. My, middle guy is starting middle school, and my youngest is in in elementary in s s k. So it was a big week getting everyone to these various schools, but, everyone's off to a great start, so that was fun. I was back to Sherkeston. Oh, Labor Day weekend just passed where we went back to Sherkeston Shores, which I talked to about a couple weeks ago. Yeah. We had a last minute deal with, the same renter or the same owner that we rented from before, and, we didn't. Wasn't intended to be a lowball, but we're like, here's our budget if you want another renter for the weekend. And she ultimately said, you know what? Sure. You guys were great. Happy to have you back. So, we went and had a great weekend there. And, the only other big thing that's on the go is I am sort of in training ish. I should be doing more for Tough Mudder. Speaker 0
So I'm doing, next next Sunday, I'm taking part in a Tough Mudder event. And if anyone doesn't know, it's one of those, outdoor sort of agility Speaker 3
Obstacle course. Speaker 0
Obstacle course, Spartan races Yeah. Sort of thing. So it's I Speaker 3
think Cassie's doing that too. Speaker 0
She is. Yeah. She's going on Saturday. So, unfortunately, we're not doing the same day, because that would have been great to see her. We didn't align that. I let I I'm going with a friend of mine, so he did all the booking. Speaker 0
So we're going on Sunday, but would have loved to have seen her. The one I'm doing is fifteen it says fifteen plus kilometers, and over twenty obstacles. Yes. So we'll see how this goes. Luckily, there's no expectation of heading any reasonable time, so my goal is completion at best. Speaker 3
Dean, are you getting some, like, ROTC flashbacks? Speaker 2
Oh, I wasn't I wasn't an ROTC. I was an actual I was a soldier. Speaker 3
Oh, you were a soldier? Okay. Speaker 7
I wasn't I wasn't a fucking officer. Officer. Sorry. Speaker 3
I don't know. I I don't know those Gotcha. Speaker 0
So this is how I play soldier, but not really, by rolling in the mud for four hours. Speaker 0
anyways, it's gonna be fun. Speaker 1
You know, you can just open the hose in your backyard and roll around in dirt on your Speaker 0
own time. Right? Yeah. I do that regularly. Speaker 3
Yeah. He calls out one night. Speaker 0
Yeah. He said I'm in training right now, didn't I? Speaker 0
Anyways, it's fun. I've I've been running. Last three days, I I had three good runs back to back to back. Did some bit when I was in sharks and I I hit the wall not that there's swimming necessarily, but swimming is an awesome exercise. So I swam the quarry that they have there, which is about three hundred meters across. So I did there and back, two days in a row. Hadn't done that kinda distance in the water in a while, so it felt really good. Feeling good right now. I'm trying to get back into shape and looking forward to this event. So yeah. Speaker 3
You know what I say to that? Round is a shape as well, so I think we're all in shape. Speaker 0
You're beautiful, Al. Speaker 2
We are all three-dimensional. Exactly. Victor, how have you been? Speaker 6
I've been good. Yeah. No. Not really much, to add to the FanX Speaker 5
I'm so sorry. Victor, you just reminded me because you're a couple. Our daughter wants to call you uncle Victor now. She she said the very next day after seeing you and I wanted to tell you the next time I saw you. The very next day, she's like, I I just it doesn't feel right to call him Victor. I feel like I need to call him uncle Victor. Speaker 2
I really call me uncle. Speaker 5
That's fine. She's like, I really I really enjoy talking to you. So so Is there Speaker 0
an uncle Fester reference? Speaker 3
She can call him comrade. Comrade Victor. No. Speaker 6
You've got you've got two good things. And and I enjoy, kind of, entertaining because she's so good. Yeah. Yeah. No. She's she's good. She's good. She's gonna be a lot of trouble for you in a couple of years. So let's see. What else happened? Yeah. So we had a long weekend. So there was some family time. Daughter came over, and it was nice because we played some music together, and we're We're working on a song together, which is which is pretty cool. And oh, and Speaker 3
Oh, yeah. You've gotten your car in your garage. Speaker 6
Yeah. So so it's been freed, officially freed, but we we haven't been able to drive it yet because it's completely Speaker 6
covered in dust, like a layer, a thick layer of dust because all the work they were doing while the garage door was open. Right? So we need to hose it off before we can even take it to a drive through or drive, whatever they call it. Speaker 6
so, yeah, we're we'll do that this weekend. It's hard to find a time. Still watching Lost. So we're now halfway through season two. So, And? Dean, we I don't know anything about the ending. We don't know anything about the controversy, so don't say nothing. So far, we're enjoying it. And, Speaker 3
You'll enjoy it right after the last season. Speaker 6
You won't You know what? Even if it even if it ends up being something like The Truman Show or whatever, I'm fine with that. I don't care. Speaker 0
Woah. Don't compare don't compare that. Speaker 1
Yeah. What's wrong with The Truman Show? Speaker 0
No. No. That's what I mean. Goal. Speaker 6
No. No. No. I don't mean The Truman Show is a bad show. I mean that it's something like that it's the whole thing's, you know, being they're being manipulated by show. Anyways You know? Speaker 0
I can't wait till he gets to later on, and then you go, Matt, you you're right. We should've stopped. Speaker 6
Well, we'll see. For me, listen. This this show when you're watching a show for six seasons or whatever, it's not always about the destination. It's about the journey. Speaker 6
long as you're enjoying the journey, that's Speaker 6
You know? It's it's like a train trip. It's not about this destination. It's about enjoying your yourself on the train. Mhmm. John, Speaker 2
I'm a wanker. Myself on Speaker 7
You're pretty sweet. Speaker 2
Will you be part of my train, Victor? Speaker 6
Yes. Oh, and and and and Speaker 1
don't know what you're promising. Speaker 6
And and and then and then the final, fun thing, I went, for a nice walk the other day. By the way, I've been doing a lot of running as well, Matt. It's so it's so great. I'm I'm just hoping we continue to get good weather for at least another couple of months. Speaker 6
would be really nice. So went for a nice walk to Steve to, Steve's music, which is, I guess, Al, you might be familiar with it. Speaker 3
I know exactly where it what? You walked from your house to see his music? Yeah. That's that's a long walk. Speaker 0
Yeah. What up on Yonge? Speaker 3
Yeah. No. On on on Speaker 6
Yonge. It's on it's on Queen between it's like just Queen and Dundas. Sorry. Spadina, area. Anyway, walked in. It's been a while since I did that. I walked in, grabbed the guitar, started playing, and another guy started playing. And then for thirty or forty minutes, we're just kind of jamming with each other. Speaker 3
Did you find that the other guy was, like, Kim Mitchell or something? Like, No. Speaker 6
No. Like and we didn't say anything. We just kind of it was just beautiful harmonizing. Speaker 6
We just kept, like, we're taking turns, kinda coming up with a nice rhythm, like, you know, adding a little Speaker 0
Did you have an audience? Like, were people just gonna gather around? Speaker 6
No. No. Like, every now and then, people would come in, look for guitar, stop and listen, and then leave. But and then at the end, he just, we both got up, shook hands, and went off on our ways. So it was it was beautiful. Speaker 7
Alright. Beautiful. Yeah. Speaker 1
There's nothing more pure than the connection between two men. Speaker 0
Yeah. You're cheating Speaker 2
on me already. Was Jeffrey Dahmer. Speaker 3
Oh, man. Alright. Awesome. How have you been? Speaker 1
Oh, my love. It has been a week. My in laws popped a curb and, got a flat tire, so I've been having to shuttle them around to all their various appointments in between getting their car fixed. And then, you know, I I make no secret of this fact. I have eighteen nieces, nephews, and niblets of various genders and all kinds of obligations to them. Speaker 1
I sort of yeah. Eighteen. One eighth. And the oldest of them is turning twenty seven tomorrow. Wow. That's a Speaker 5
little bit busy. Speaker 1
So it it's, it's fun, but, oh god, it's a lot of fucking work. Speaker 3
No wonder everyone calls you auntie. You're you're you're actually an auntie. Like Speaker 1
Yeah. I've been auntie since I was fucking fourteen, and that shit's not like to change. Speaker 3
Alright. Cool. Well, thank you for, joining us. And, last but certainly not least, Dean, buddy. It's been way too long since we've heard your voice on on on a podcast. Speaker 2
I don't even know where I am right now. Speaker 3
It looks like your studio. Speaker 2
It is. It's well, it's my editing desk. My booth is right there. So, yeah, I've really just been working on, voice stuff and going to acting classes. That's been my biggest focus right now. Working on a web series. I don't know if anybody already heard, but I'm working on a web series on YouTube called Crash. It's a it's a machinima, about this team of soldiers, halo characters, who are who are working on this base and weird things are afoot. But it's, it's it's comedy comedy with some drama in it. Great. Cool. Speaker 3
I'll post a link to that in the show notes. So if, folks wanna check it out, I'll definitely check it out tomorrow. Speaker 2
Yeah. Having a lot of fun with that. Mhmm. Go to the Halo championship series with some of the actors, beginning of October, up in Seattle. So that's just a nice little drive for me. But, yeah, talking about your con experience. Yeah. I love good con experiences. My first one, with my kids, Evan was probably, I don't know, I'm gonna say about six at the time, And huge fan of Adventure Time. And he was dressed as Finn and everything like that. And we got in John DiMaggio, the guy who does Jake the dog. Speaker 2
And so John is a big dude. Mhmm. And, Evan got And during the comm, we, we bought a calendar. He came with a Adventure Time DVD and one other thing. And we were trying to figure out in the line what what thing what one thing do you wanna have him sign because he's not gonna sign a whole bunch of stuff. So, he picked out his one thing, and we're walking up there. And finally, we get there, and Evan just freezes. Speaker 2
he notices John notices this, and he gets up, and he goes, hey, man. How are you doing? I am so glad that you made it over here. And he was and he was so he signed every fucking thing that Evan had. He had a the calendar, every page that Jake the dog was on it, he would sign that. Speaker 3
Wow. That's awesome. Speaker 2
He was a super, super nice guy. So, yeah, having a great con experience Speaker 2
Is just amazing. Speaker 3
It's great when when the celebrities get it. Right? The the ones the the ones who are sitting there and look like they'd rather be anywhere else, that that's that's the unfortunate one. But when the celebrities know why they're there and and and get it, yeah, it it it's amazing. Speaker 2
Yeah. So many of the voice actors I got to meet Billy West at that one. He was a really nice guy too. Speaker 1
Billy West is great. Speaker 3
Yeah. You know who was at the Toronto on this, were the voices of Pinky and the Brain? Speaker 1
And Mario. Mario is Speaker 3
And Mario. Yeah. Mario was a kid. Speaker 3
No. They had a pretty good lineup and and selection. Like, some a lot of shows, obviously, I'd never heard of. But, you know, my daughter's new or new latest favorite show is called One Piece, and so there was somebody from that show there. Speaker 0
Oh, fuck. I'm seeing that shit everywhere now. Speaker 0
Now that I'm aware of it, everywhere I go, I'm seeing these One Piece things. Speaker 3
Yeah. I I got myself a One Piece puzzle, so that's, I'm looking forward to working on that. Speaker 0
were so proud of Speaker 7
yourself. When Victor and I Speaker 0
were so confused by what you Speaker 3
were saying I have one Speaker 2
piece puzzles hanging all up in my house. I finished every one of them perfectly. Speaker 3
It's a thousand pieces, but it's one piece. Speaker 2
Nobody nobody puts one piece puzzle together more than me. I do it the best. People tell me. Speaker 3
So, Dane, what's what's the status of how are you now? What's the status? Speaker 2
I will say right now, we are in an indefinite hiatus. I personally have lost interest in doing podcasting. I don't know if that's if it's just because I've been so busy with everything else. Mhmm. But it's a lot of work. And and and you guys are putting up tons of content that's awesome a lot of the time. And so I I not that I'm trying to compete or anything. Speaker 3
It's it's never a competition. Speaker 2
you you you've you've got plenty. You you've got that covered. So and the one other show that I would ever do a podcast about, I tried to, and it just it wasn't quite working for me. Reacher. So Speaker 3
That's too bad because the new season have you watched the the latest season of Reacher? Speaker 0
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Speaker 2
And I'm looking forward to the next one. I love them all. New sees the second season was kind of odd because he's actually set up with his old crew Mhmm. From when he was in the military. And, so it Yeah. I enjoyed it. Speaker 3
Yeah. It was good. Speaker 2
Instead of him just being the solo guy, fortunately, the next one, he will be back to being the solo guy. The one for Speaker 3
the most part. Yeah. Speaker 2
Yeah. And one of the things that's cool about it is because I've read the book and there's a character in there, he's, named Paulie, who, is so Jack Reacher is six foot five, two fifty pounds. Pauley is seven foot six and roided out. So that should be a very interested, interesting, how they put that together on the camera. Right. So so Yeah. But, yeah, I'm looking forward to that. So, yeah, that's the other I've been listening to it. I I've I've gotten into working out myself. Mhmm. Okay. Start I have a little treadmill here under my desk. I try to work walk forty five minutes a day. I've got weights upstairs. I've been doing dumbbells, you know, pre presses and plats and squats and everything with my dumbbells. I really don't have, enough room for, like, a full bench press thing. Speaker 2
So I'm trying to get myself back in shape. So, yeah, that's so that's what I'm doing right now. Alright. Well, Speaker 3
I mean, I'm sad that we're not gonna listen to you and Tiara talk about Letterkenny or Sorsy. But, hopefully, one day, you you know, we'll make a return or at least, you know, join us again for these season recaps because, we have a lot of fun doing these. So why don't we yeah. Speaking of which, why don't we get started with that? Let's do this. Previously. Last week, we or last week. Two weeks ago, we recapped and reviewed the season three finale of Shorzy, Les Rapides de Roudon. That episode was a unicorn receiving fresh ratings across our panel, including our guest, Tobias. This week, a recap and review the entire season three with our friends, Awesome and Dean. I'm ready. Tanya, are you ready? Let's go. Matt, are you ready? Speaker 0
Let's get on the go. Speaker 3
Victor, are you ready? Speaker 3
Awesome. Are you ready? Speaker 1
Stay where it is too. I'll come where you're at. Speaker 3
Dean, are you ready? Speaker 2
Let's get after it. Speaker 0
Alright. Fucking going. Yeah. Let's get on the go, boys. Speaker 3
Alright. We are going to start off with episode one of season three. It was called four to six, and our our guest for that episode was Kat, if you're, the lady with all the tattoos. And, we had a great time getting to know Kat. With, and Dean, you may have noticed with the intro the new format with the intro. And with Letterkenny done and out of the way, we decided we'd make a few changes to the production of the podcast. Our trusty writing team of Tate and Webb came up with a fun cold open, so let's listen to that for a sec. Tate and Webb. Hey, guys. Thanks for coming by today. Hey. How are you now? Speaker 8
Doing good. And you? Speaker 9
So, Al, ready for Shorzy? Are you excited? Speaker 3
Yes. That's why you're here. You see, I have a vision for the pod's future. Speaker 8
Of the produce stand? Like, you're gonna change it up. What you got in mind? Speaker 3
Okay. Imagine a podcast for everything in the universe. Speaker 9
Yeah. So you, like, say that every episode, Al. It's in the script. Speaker 3
Talking all the shows, not only Letterkenny, full on rebranding. Speaker 9
Cool. That sounds like fun. I guess our only question is why are we here? Speaker 3
I'm glad you asked, Liz. What do you guys write for us each week, every show? Speaker 9
We write limericks. Speaker 3
And brilliantly, I might add. But I had a thought. Speaker 8
What kind of thought, Al? Matt getting tired of limericks? Speaker 3
Oh, no. It's not that. But limericks are just it's just so letter Kenny. Now think bigger, guys. Speaker 9
I got an idea. Tell us what you have in mind. We'll give it a go. Speaker 3
Okay. Are you ready? Limericks out. Let's do haikus. No. Hockey haikus. Speaker 9
I get it's shoresy, but haiku's about hockey? Yeah. We can do it. Speaker 8
Sure. But what about, you know, the cultural thing? What's it again, Liz? Speaker 9
Appropriation? I'm half Japanese, you dork. Think we're in the clear. Speaker 3
This is excellent. I knew you guys would love this. Tate, Webb, are you ready? Good. Because you're going. Speaker 9
You should do a new intro. Speaker 8
You should play it now. Speaker 3
And that's where the new intro started. Now the brilliant thing about that cold open there is the entire thing is a series of haikus. I checked it. They they wrote, I don't know, about twenty haikus to to create that cold open. Anyway, in the how's your week seg segment of that episode, we, you know, we we did what we just did now. We we caught up with each other. And Matt had a great story about his, thirteen year old son discovering porn, and, I just had to play a little bit of, how he handled that. Speaker 0
He made some comment and and used the word but, and I can't remember why. I'm like, oh, speaking of buts, and he's like, what? I'm like, Speaker 0
I think you forgot one vital fact about your phone, bud. He's like, what's that? I'm like, it's connected to mine. He's like, oh? I'm like, yeah. You've been doing some interesting searching, and you saw his face just go white. He knew. He's like, oh, yeah. I'm like, a little bit too young in there, bud. We're gonna have a bigger talk when, when you get back here. Speaker 0
just like, okay. He kinda laughed and walked away. I'm like, yep. And I've checked. He hasn't searched anything since. So He Speaker 6
he's using his burner for that. Speaker 2
Yeah. He's got a bar. Speaker 3
Yeah. Thirteen year old with a burner. Oh, man. So so, Matt, quick update. I know you're being talked to right now, but have you seen any more searches? Speaker 0
No. I've I've I've looked. So either, a, he's outsmarted me technologically, which is probably the more likely outcome. Speaker 3
He's learned what a VPN is? Speaker 0
He's learned what a VPN is or he's learned how to Incognito. Incognito. Well, what I learned, though, on his phone, the incognito action or the private via browsing doesn't work. Speaker 0
think it's because I've got, a block on it, so it won't allow him to do that. Mhmm. Or he's figured out how to do it without me knowing. Both are real possibilities. But my update, I know nothing at this point. So he's either gotten really good at this or Speaker 6
Ignorance is bliss. Speaker 0
Yeah. He's still a good kid, though. Speaker 3
Amazing. Alright. Before I continue Speaker 2
how I turned out. Speaker 3
Yeah. There you go. Look how we all turned out. Come on. If if Speaker 0
Those Sears catalogs, boys. Speaker 3
Forget Sears catalog. My dad had quite the stash in his closet. Oh, yeah. Speaker 2
Yeah. National Geographic. Speaker 3
Oh, yeah. Little behind the scenes here. When I was putting this my episode notes together and I'm sure you've all heard about AI and and how people are using it now in their job. I'm going to admit, I used AI to help me with the script and to help me to to find the clips for this episode. And the reason I'm telling you this is because it it found good clips, but it also gave it gave them interesting names. Like and unprompted by me so for example, that clip that we just heard from Matt, AI called it parenting in the digital age, surprise phone check, which I think is like, I think it's hilarious. So and because nowhere in what like, in the story Matt, you know, Gates accounted for us, was there the surprise like, any of those words. Like, it kind of derived that from the the Speaker 3
Clip. Yeah. It is freaky. Wait till you hear some of these other titles. But, anyway, we're going now to the the episode, and, we're going to talk about, you know, something called ski poles here. The ski poles joke was Speaker 9
Oh my god. I laughed so hard at that. Speaker 3
When when Goody does the motion, like, oh, I get it. That's funny. Speaker 6
I needed that. Yeah. Because one but until I saw it, I didn't get it. Yeah. Speaker 0
Oh, you didn't put that you didn't know that joke? No. No. Never. Speaker 5
We learned so much on this show, like, docking Speaker 3
inevitable whether anything we learn is useful, but, yes, you do learn so much. Speaker 0
It was that kind of episode. Speaker 3
Yes. So the name that AI gave for that clip was understanding the ski pole joke, a hilarious revelation. I swear to you, I'm not inputting these. This is exactly what That's amazing. What AI is outputting. Anyway, that episode got a clearance from Tanya, fresh from everyone else. So Tanya broke the unicorn on that episode. Speaker 3
Whatever. No. Don't don't take Speaker 0
it back. It's okay. Speaker 5
I did take back because I had Speaker 3
no break a unicorn. Speaker 5
I had no real I had no nothing, no understanding of what the four to six was. They just kept on saying it the whole entire episode, four to six, four to six. And I was like, fuck. Why why they keep this is like Speaker 6
You learn and you move on. Speaker 3
Yeah. And then that weekend, all she heard was four to six. Speaker 5
We had family over that watched sports all weekend long, and that was the whole weekend was four to six. All these players are off four to six weeks. And I was like, oh, oh, I get it now. Speaker 3
Anyway, our our scientific Twitter poll, gave eighty percent gave it a fresh, twenty percent gave it a clearance. No composts were given. Dean or well, we'll start with awesome. What, what, rating did you give this episode? Speaker 1
I give it a fresh. I think it's a good open to the series. I think it lays out the thesis for the entire run quite succinctly when, Stenger says you've lost your identities as hockey players. Like, that is that's the fear that's the thesis of series three. Speaker 1
It surely struggle with his identity as a hockey player. Speaker 3
Okay. Yeah. And did you understand the whole four to six thing when it was happening? Or or do were you Speaker 1
I did, especially after they explained it during the walking competition. Speaker 3
Sure. I know. I think Tanya just Speaker 0
That wasn't the question, awesome. Speaker 1
No. Look. I've got and and to be fair to Tanya Speaker 0
here To be fair. Speaker 1
She's quite sleep deprived. Speaker 5
That was She was pissed. Speaker 3
Alright. Dean, what did you give this episode? Speaker 2
Honestly, give it a clearance. I I and and, in fact, this season for me, it it it wasn't it didn't start to get good until about episode three. Speaker 2
So it was it was okay. Okay. This is what I'm used to. That's it's kinda settling me back in. Speaker 2
So I'm getting comforted, which is not a big exciting thing. I mean, I understood the four to six and everything. But if, for me, it felt a little redone, if that makes sense. Like, they've they've done this kind of thing at the very beginning, essentially. I mean, not about being injured, but, you know, finding that identity and making the team and, you know, getting that getting back to their roots. And so I felt like you've kinda done this before, but now, you know, now you've actually been winning. Speaker 2
And that they yeah. They've lost it because they've they've got they've gotten so used to it. So I think they're they have really great writers. I know this. And I I think I think for this one, hitting it out of the park was not quite there for me. Okay. It got it definitely got into the outfield. Speaker 3
It's all good. What did you think of, you know, how they kinda skipped all the playoffs, just kinda gave us that one scene, the slow mo scene of them losing in their own barn, and then Yeah. And then we're we start the national senior tournament right away. Speaker 2
Yeah. And that's, that's kinda something they've done before. You know, they they'll they'll gloss over those things. I mean, that's Letterkenny Mhmm. And Shorces. So this is that's a common that's a common Letterkenny universe trope. Sure. So, so I wasn't surprised about that. I mean, I guess you can you can probably only film so many, you know, fictional hockey games. Yeah. Speaker 6
I I I was kinda glad they did that because that kind of helped them reset. Speaker 6
And because I think this is the first season or series, as Awesome likes to call it, where there was actual stakes, like real stakes. And and the only way they could have done that for a six episode season is by doing a fast forward. So so, you know, I didn't have too much of a problem. Speaker 3
Yeah. They came off the perfect season. How do how do they bring it back to some kind of struggle? Right? Yeah. For sure. Austin, what did and, you know, I mean, what did you think of how they kinda did that? Speaker 1
I agree with Victor. If they had gone directly from the end of the regular season to the playoffs, that would have really killed the pacing because it isn't about the playoffs. It's about the national championship. That is how they raise the stakes. And, also, Pete, when have they done their search for identity before in like, Speaker 2
at the very the very first season when they're None none Speaker 1
of them were searching for their identity, though. That that was Speaker 0
they it was the identity of Speaker 3
Yeah. But the team the team was searching for an identity for sure. Speaker 2
Exactly. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. I Speaker 1
mean, there were I disagree really, like, emphatically. There was no Speaker 7
That theme. Yeah. No. Speaker 1
I I just I'm saying that I don't there wasn't a theme of identity woven throughout the whole series. You know what I mean? Speaker 2
I don't know. So I Speaker 6
I I'm kind of in the middle on this one. Awesome. Like, season one, they they were dog shit. Right? And and so they so they have to bring in they have to bring in basically, rebuild the team. Right? And and so you went from no identity to an identity. In this case, they had an identity, and they lost it. So I guess that's the that's the nuance is the you go from nothing to something, and here you go from something to losing it and then having to find it again. Speaker 1
Right. But none of them are questioning, like, who they are or their life's purpose. Speaker 1
You know? They know Sure. Speaker 6
See, Michaels Michaels was, questioning he lost his penis out of his, jog strap. I mean, that poor guy. Speaker 3
On the fur in the first season. Yeah. Speaker 2
But, yeah, I think I I in my opinion, yeah, this this they're trying to to find out. I mean, it's like they've lost the the, the don't give a fuck. Right. They've lost they've lost that. You know, Shorzy is trying to figure his shit out, and he's captain, so they follow him. Yeah. And because he loses his identity, they're kinda losing theirs. So that's how I see it. And and because he found their identity in season one, they they followed along. They they ended up because of him having that identity. So it's kind of they're reverting back, because I don't know if it's because, you know, they're they're used to winning now, and maybe taking things too lightly. I don't know. But Speaker 3
It all happened so quick, though. Like, because it's Exactly. Exactly. It feels like there should be, like, three or four seasons, but it's actually still the same season as that first episode. Just now it's the the tournament, the post playoff tournament. Speaker 6
The the other the other thing about what's interesting that it's, like, they're making about the identity, but they're also, like you know, this kind of the part of it that makes it more like a cartoon is they're all terribly injured. Right? Yeah. So, yes, you can say they're losing their identity, but they're all playing, like, with, you know, twenty percent of themselves except for, JJ, and he, you know, he's heartbroken. So, Speaker 1
so JJ only ever plays with twenty percent effort in anything, and that's actually part of a thesis I have that I wanna discuss later. Speaker 6
Alright. Yeah. Sure. Anyway, I I don't know. It's it's an interesting discussion. I I don't think anyone is a hundred percent right on this one. Speaker 2
Yeah. I wanna see a math competition between JJ and the freezer twins. Who are? Speaker 3
Well, you gotta count to at least twenty five. Right? I'm not. Anyway, the GameSticks for this episode, were rewarded actually, everyone everyone gave them gave it to Sanguinet for this episode. I think, we all kind of appreciated how annoyed Sanguinet was getting with the way the team was basically emotionally folding and and making up excuses and stuff and, him storming out of the room. And it was it was an interesting look for him, you know, considering where he started, being kind of that meek, timid player growing into the coach and now being the the leader that he was in this season. Dean, if you were to reward a game stick, who would it be? Speaker 2
I don't disagree with that. Sanger's become basically the heart of the team. He's he's kind of picked up the reins that Shorzey's dropped. Mhmm. So I think he know he knows the team. He has a good idea of what he wants to do with the team. You know, he makes mistakes, but so does everybody. I don't, but he, like and he definitely doesn't want Shorzy hurt. So he's got heart. Yeah. So I think that, he is like like I said, he's really the heart of the team. Mhmm. It keeps them together. He, you know, he he's learned from Shorzy on how to handle the team Yeah. And them to do what they need to do, as best as he can. Speaker 3
Which makes whatever happens in season four very interesting. Right? Speaker 2
Yeah. Yeah. Woah. Exactly. Because yeah. He's, he's yeah. He's he's gonna be I don't know. Yeah. If I don't know what's gonna happen with that between him and Shorzy on that. I mean Speaker 2
hope I'm hoping he's still around. Speaker 3
I have a theory, but but well, I'll share it later. Okay. Alright. Awesome. Who who do you give your GameStick to for this episode? Speaker 1
I have to give it to Miguan. Speaker 1
Because she is the one who's rallying I mean, like, her and Sanger are working in tandem in parallel Speaker 1
Really to keep everybody's mind on track, to try and get everyone to refocus on the goal right in front of them. Like, you you do the job that is in front of you, and fucking moping ain't accomplishing shit. So pull your head out of your ass. Speaker 1
Pull on your big girl panties and get to work. Yeah. Speaker 3
There was definitely a team between Sanger Sanger and Meade trying to get everyone else to, yeah, Speaker 0
with that. I mean, we we talked about that as well. Like, and I and I I know I think I gave, Meade the the the sort of honorable mention because she was doing playing the same role on the opposite side of the equation. I just felt Sanger came in a little stronger, but totally agree with you, Austin. Speaker 3
Yeah. Alright. Let's move on to episode two, Charlottetown reds. And, just to remind you what this one was about, here's the high hockey haiku. Speaker 0
The Bulldogs give back webinars and seminars, but the first game's here. The Charlottetown Reds, so nice, and they brought seafood. Damn, Gorda's gorgeous. Talking nutrition with kids in the youth league, but thoughts turn to who's next. Speaker 3
Alright. And, in this episode here, AI thought, we the our our argument about the best way to eat crab might be the most interesting clip. Here it is. Speaker 5
I want my crabs in a crab cake. Speaker 5
In butter. Don't waste Speaker 0
your crabs in a cake. Yeah. Speaker 6
I agree with that. Yeah. Eat it eat it natural. Speaker 0
I was blasting away. Crack Speaker 5
You know, I I I forgot we I didn't even talk about the seminar. And where did the webinar go? Like, are we going to get the webinar soon? Speaker 5
Because I really wanted to see Shorzy navigate Zoom. I wanted to see Speaker 5
I wanted to see the You Speaker 3
wanna see Shorzy's forehead or something or yeah. Speaker 5
I wanted to see the four screens. I wanted big sexy chirping in the background like crazy and and, like, turn your mic off when it's not your turn. And, like, I wanted the chaos. Speaker 3
We may still get that. Speaker 0
I remember I think I said that too the moment we saw that intro Mhmm. The the the when they released that earlier, I said the same thing. And if we don't get it in the end, I'm gonna be pretty upset, but they'll find a way around it. But I think Speaker 0
a that would be such an amazing scene to see, the floating heads. Speaker 5
Yeah. Or just the forehead. Like, you don't see anything else. Right? Speaker 3
You're on mute, Shorzy. Anyway, yeah, this one here, we see the first realness. Seminar with, like, two or three kids in attendance, plus Liam and and Corey. We we meet gorgeous Gord Gallant, and, he offers to to provide a Speaker 2
Such a Canadian Disney name. Speaker 3
Right. Yeah. And, he offers the lobster dinner for the for the at the end of the tournament. Well, Dean, we'll start well, I guess well, the ratings for this one, actually, it was a unicorn. We all gave it a fresh. So, Dean, what would you give this episode? Speaker 2
I'm still right now kind of in the clearance phase. Mhmm. The story was okay. It was a little for me, it was a little lackluster. I was, I I I liked the idea of between Shorzy and and Gord. Mhmm. That that, the aggression that Speaker 3
Yeah. Well, first, they can't understand why he's being so nice to him when when they're about to play each other and stuff. Yeah. Speaker 2
I would have loved to seen more of that. Mhmm. That's I think that was the thing that was missing for me. Everything else was was great. I but I that piece of it, I think, would have really made it perfect for me. Speaker 1
I'm not gonna lie, lads. I am gonna just tell you upfront, I'm giving every episode afresh. Speaker 1
Just because the yeah. No. I Speaker 0
Said no one ever to awesome. Right? Speaker 1
Right. No. I think every bit of the story that is being told is so tightly built onto what comes before that you can't skip or discount anything. Right? So even though this is a a transitional episode, it sets up so much stuff, and it's so crucial to the rest of the story that you can't do without it. Speaker 1
I think it does its job very well with an economy of time in motion, and I think it's funny. It's still funny. Mhmm. I love Laura and Eddie or Laura and Shorsey's conversation about gorgeous gourd in the diner in Eddie's. I think that's just so fucking funny. And I think they're they're cute. They're back and forth. They're give and take there. Speaker 7
Chad would agree Speaker 3
Yes. Yes. Alright. Our game sticks, Victor gave it to Michaels in this one. Tanya gave it to Shorzy. I gave it to Zeig. Matt gave it to Shorzy as well, and our guest, p PJ gave it to Hitch. We'll start with you, Awesome. Who would your game stick go to? Speaker 1
Game stick goes to Shorzy because he does drag the boys into the game. Right? Like, he's like, what's this fucking lackluster shit? Get your head into the game. Like, focus up. We have something to accomplish here. Like, we've got to redeem ourselves from the playoffs, and we've only got one shot at it. So why are you dicking around? Speaker 3
Yeah. Stop thinking of that lobster. Like, we're not there yet. You need to earn the lobster. Very good. Speaker 3
Yeah. Dean, what about you? Who do who would you give the Game Stick to in this episode? Speaker 2
I'm gonna go with the, with the Zieg. You know, that was I I really like that little storyline there. Mhmm. I thought that was cute and clever. And is this the one where Shorzy told her she was hot? Speaker 3
I think that's later on. Speaker 1
No. That's later. Speaker 3
But I I I was a fan of Zig in this, in this, whole season. Like, I think she really came out as a strong character this season, for sure. Yeah. Alright. We're moving on to episode three, Von Cannadesi. And, our guest panelist for that one was our buddy Jack from Australia. And here's the, hockey haiku for that one. Speaker 0
Filming an ad for a half ton sporty short box is where we begin. Shores EV Jory? Dolo gives a Nik Couture. Zeke and Gord? Maybe? So set the tone, boys. Von Cannadesi is here who will play dirtiest. Speaker 3
Alright. And in this one here, playing the role of Victor was actually our friend Casey because, Victor was on vacation. And, she had something to say about the cold open for this one. Speaker 9
This is the best cold open ever. Wow. All time, any show. Speaker 9
This is number one. A hundred percent. Speaker 9
Yeah. This is I this is my favorite. If it works with not seeing it Speaker 9
Which it still rips me up just to listen to it Mhmm. That confirms my stance on this. Okay. Now if I were Victor in a cranky mood, I might say, yeah. They're doing the same thing all over again. And it was just too no. You think you'd like it? Speaker 3
I think he no. I think he'd enjoy this one. I think so. I think he's I think, generally, he gives Shorzy the benefit of doubt, over Letterkenny. Speaker 3
True. I think he would enjoy it. So, Victor, what did you because you weren't here for this. What did you think of that cold open? Speaker 6
I thought I I'm trying to remember what I said so I don't contradict myself. Because when I did come on, the next week or whenever it was, I I think I gave my review of the episode. I I know that I really enjoyed that cold open, so I probably gave it a raving review. Mhmm. And I probably did agree with Casey to an to a degree of this being one of the funniest, if not the funniest cold open that I've seen so far. So, yeah, I really enjoyed it. Speaker 3
Yeah. I think, maybe for Shorzy, it's the funniest cold open, but I think there's a lot plenty from Letterkenny that I'd put, you know, at or above this one. But, Speaker 6
Yeah. Well, yeah, I'd give it some thought before Speaker 6
You know, coming out with a statement like that. Speaker 3
Yeah. Now, in this next clip, I share a little story of, art imitating life. Let's, let's take a listen. Speaker 4
You shut the fuck up and smile at the old lady. Speaker 10
Well, that's as good a time as any to wrap up Bulldogs All Access and let the boys get ready for the Vaughan candidacy. We've got warm up from the Sudbury Arena next. Speaker 0
You're such a fucking lippy cunt, bitch. Speaker 3
We're glad you're over there. So I I had a a doctor's appointment earlier this week, and I was leaving my appointment, walking, to to my car. And this little old lady walked was walking in the opposite direction, and I looked at her and I smiled at her. And when I did that, I thought back to this episode and just started laughing to myself because I did it automatically. What Did you smile back? She did. Yeah. She did. It's like, of course you smile. That's what you need. Speaker 3
I didn't do it on I didn't do it because of Shorzy. I did it, instinctively, but then it made Speaker 3
But then it made me think about Shorzy, and then I started laughing because it was yeah. Anyway, before we move on, AI called this clip the hilarious commandment, smile at the old lady. Speaker 0
Commandment, Right? Like, where the fuck Speaker 2
can I get that? Smile at the elderly. Speaker 1
The hilarious commandment. At this point at this point, I wanna point out it's not actually artificial intelligence. It's not intelligent. It is basically fancy pants autocorrect. Okay? It is a large Speaker 0
k. Learning model. It is a We get it. Awesome. But think about the Speaker 1
statistical model. Speaker 3
Think about the hoops. Speaker 3
The hoops it jumped through to come up with the hilarious commandment, smile at the old lady. Not the word commandment wasn't mentioned in that clip at all or hilarious. It just anyway, I just found it really funny. When I saw the title, I'm like, that's hilarious. Speaker 6
It's doing a it's it's it's doing a good job. Yeah. I'm sorry. Of what you what, you know, what you wanna call it. Speaker 1
sounds like a bad English translation from a a for a user manual. Speaker 1
But, Matt, you're not allowed to enjoy it because not because it's bad, but because it's terrible for the environment. Do you know how much water and energy these servers use? Speaker 3
Oh, come on. Don't make me bad about killing a small forest to produce this episode. Speaker 7
No. You should feel bad about killing the ecosystem. Awesome. I don't care. Speaker 6
Awesome. This this is not the purpose for AI. This is just a nice little Yeah. You know, symptom of it. Speaker 0
Talking about Tesla batteries and how they absorb. Speaker 2
Let me show you my big concern Speaker 1
Each query that you run costs way too much in terms of water and energy consumed. Speaker 3
Okay. I will Okay. Speaker 1
It is an ecological disaster. Speaker 3
I will plant a couple of Speaker 3
I'll I'll plant a couple of trees. Better. Speaker 1
Yeah. You need to subsidize a water desalination plant or something, man. Speaker 3
Back to I do my thing. I I I Can I can I share Speaker 6
You're closer to Silicon Valley than all of us? Speaker 3
Yeah. You're you're like the This is this is more Speaker 6
on you than it is on us. Speaker 0
I I shared around I Speaker 1
thought someone was using it. Speaker 0
I I shared around some planet saving information today that I thought was pretty useful. So I found this meme that made me laugh, and it said it's basically a conversation. So the first person's like, condoms are not biodegradable. Condoms are not biodegradable. And they say this, like, four times. Speaker 7
or children are. Damn it. Speaker 3
You then I ruined your joke. Speaker 0
Punchline punchline gone. Time. Dean. I'll finish it anyways for those that didn't catch Speaker 0
if you care about the planet, have have unprotected sex, and then STDs and babies are also not biodegradable. And somebody's like, babies are absolutely biodegradable. So thanks, Dean. Sorry. I I my brain works a little bit. Speaker 2
Like, awesome, and I'm pedantic. Speaker 3
I read that exact same joke today. So, yeah. Speaker 0
You made me laugh really hard. Speaker 3
Alright. Back to this episode. Speaker 5
Yesterday, I smiled at an old lady, and I thought of you. Speaker 3
There you go. See? There you go. Yeah. It Speaker 6
it didn't work. Of your Speaker 2
and I followed an old lady, and I end up going home with her. Speaker 3
Alright. Back to the Speaker 1
baby Shorzy behavior. Speaker 3
Back to the episode. Our buddy Jack awards the game stick. Speaker 0
Yeah. Goody was an honorable mention for me. Mhmm. But to Speaker 11
to me, the game stick has to go to Jordan Hrushka. He caught one in the face because someone else fired up a blow. Like Yeah. Dory Shorzy got under, Slice Skin. Speaker 11
And and then he lashed out, and he copped the brunt of it. So he gets my game stick. Speaker 3
Ruska wins it by taking wood to the mouth. There you go. Speaker 0
I apologize. The part was unborn fetus, that's Joey called out in the last room, not Goldfish. Speaker 3
Yes. They're both pretty Speaker 3
One and one a if you ask me. But anyway, alright. Let's move on. Alright. The the title to that clip, awesome plug your ears, is The Unstoppable Unstoppable Ruska, a True MVP Moment. Speaker 2
What did they say for Belgian? That sounds like something to be a sports a Sports Illustrated article. Speaker 3
Right. Alright. Final rating for this one. I killed the unicorn on this one. Everyone gave it a fresh except for me. I gave it a clearance. So we'll start with, who who, awesome this time. What what would you give the oh, fresh. Right? Should I just put fresh down? Yeah. Speaker 1
Yes, please. Just Speaker 3
Alright. Fresh for awesome. Speaker 1
Okay. So Von Canadese. Speaker 1
Yeah. Ruska taking the stick to the face was fucking shocking. Right? Because up until really, really recently, the universe has had a pretty strict rule about no blood because blood's not funny. Okay. So they're breaking their own rules to provide that extra, I don't know, gravitas, reality, grit, you know, grit, whatever it is, realism. I mean, not reality. Yeah. But, no. And I think they're doing it to great effect because they're not gratuitous with it. It's very I'm not gonna say sparing either because they really when they decide when Jared decide because I wanna point this out. The only writer on Shorzy is Jared. Speaker 3
Yeah. The main yeah. Speaker 1
Credit the entire time. Speaker 3
Mhmm. He has punch up writers or whatever, but, yeah, he he writes them in stories. Yeah. Speaker 1
Like, Risky is the script supervisor. Right? Speaker 0
Yeah. Risky and Kits are both given the writer writer's credits as well on Speaker 1
But, no. When he's he's decided to break this rule, and he's breaking it good and hard Mhmm. But to great effect. Speaker 1
Because and it's always on point. Speaker 0
Do you think it's so the show the writing's one thing, but do you think it's the Skeen brothers Yeah. At the helm? Speaker 3
I was just about to say, once again, we're back to Speaker 3
Yeah. The no no more, Jacob Tierney. Tierney. Who knows? Speaker 7
Yeah. Right? Yeah. Keep the Speaker 0
scheme going. Let's push it a little bit further. Let's let's show some extra realism Mhmm. Because this is what we know. Speaker 1
Well okay. So I I think that, the visual language of the show has changed Speaker 1
Quite a lot. And I'm not gonna say it's better or worse. It's different, but I like how different it is because every scene is shot like an action sequence. Speaker 1
Right. There and, Speaker 3
Lots more movement. Yeah. Fewer static shots. Yeah. Speaker 1
It's it's way more dynamic. In Leonard Kenny, famously, you don't have people entering or exiting Right. This theme Speaker 1
Because that's not tyranny style. But in Dorothy, there's always movement. Somebody's always coming in or out. Something is always happening in the background. You literally have to watch watch it once, you know, paying attention to the people who are talking and then watch it once just to see what's happening in the background because there is actual information occurring. Speaker 3
I'd be I'd be interested to know Speaker 1
And if you're not paying attention, you're gonna miss out. Speaker 3
Yeah. I'd be interested to know how many, if any, the Steadicam shots there were in all of Letterkenny, all twelve seasons, and maybe the first couple of seasons of Shorzy versus, yeah, season three of Shorzy, there was a lot more movement. A lot of those Yeah. Scenes where the fans are coming through the arena, you can tell that's that's somebody with a a steady cam. Like, that's not static shots. That's like Yeah. Speaker 0
They're bringing the environment more to life in this season. Speaker 1
Yeah. And I think it's really paying dividends in terms of feeling the story moving forward even when you do have interstitial shots like the the fans coming in out of a stadium Right. Or in the beer queue or, you know, just even, the boys walking to the arena. Speaker 1
You know, you're constantly getting really, really dense information without any dialogue just because of the way it's being filled. Speaker 1
So I like it. Like I said, it's not a matter of better or worse, but it is different. I do It's a Speaker 0
Feel on it. Like, it's different, and I and Speaker 3
Yeah. Dean, what did what did you give this one? Speaker 2
This is where they're turning the corner for me. The fucking, oh god. What was it? The, half ton sporty short puck. Speaker 7
Yes. Yeah. Yeah. Cold open. Speaker 1
No. Watching them lose their shit Speaker 1
In that cold open. Speaker 3
Yeah. You gotta think some of those breaks were probably real breaks that they just kept in. Right? Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 1
Like, you know, they're it's scripted that they're all breaking. Speaker 1
But, like, the more authentic ones, the more authentic reaction they can get, the better. Speaker 3
Yeah. For sure. What do you give it then, Dean? Speaker 2
I give this one fresh. Okay. Speaker 1
As is right and proper. Speaker 3
MVPs, for this one went to let me see here. Oh, Matt gave it to Goody, I think, on on the strength of that cold open. Casey gave it to Jory Jordan. Tanya gave it to the cold open. She actually named the cold open as the MVP. I gave it to Goody as well because throughout that whole I think that was one of the episodes where Goody had more to do and say than than usual. Not just in that cold open, but, yeah, I really enjoyed that. Speaker 0
And he was so on point with everything he delivered. Speaker 3
Yeah. And as we heard in the clip there, Jack gave it to Ruska for taking taking the the high stick and going Speaker 3
Yeah. Exactly. Alright. We're gonna move on to episode four, Brooks Barrowman and our Speaker 1
Wait. Do we not to give our do we not get to give our Speaker 3
Oh, shit. Sorry. Yeah. No. Of course. My bad. My bad. Dean, who do you give your game stick to? It's a Goody. He's got his Goody t shirt on, and, it's like Yeah. You had that one planned. Alright. Speaker 0
Unbelievable. Love it. Speaker 2
How can you not love Goody? Yes. And, you know, and I Speaker 2
Going back going back to four six, I think he was a highlight Mhmm. Of that with the walking. Speaker 3
Because he had an arm injury. His walking Yeah. Was completely fine. Speaker 1
Right? No. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. The last the last second Speaker 1
Four to six when he takes his holster off. Right? He calls it a holster because he's got guns. Yeah. He doesn't just drop it. He throws it across the floor. Speaker 3
That's right. Yeah. Speaker 1
Like, he's throwing down a gauntlet to issue a challenge. And he's like, come fucking do something about it. And I was like, but he got rude. Speaker 3
No. Yeah. With this yeah. If this was a Zeke coming out season, this was also a goodie coming out season for sure. Speaker 1
Okay. So, I'm going to give it to captain number sixty nine Shore because Speaker 1
Because of the pumping up that he does for Ruska. Speaker 1
Right. Like, he is encouraging. He is being a captain, but he's also being a coach. Right? Speaker 3
Are you are you ready to be on TV? Are you ready to be yeah. Yeah. Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. He's coaching Ruska through this. Speaker 1
And he's pumping his tires something fierce, and it's the most positive and encouraging that we see him being towards another member of the team. Speaker 3
Alright. Moving on to episode four, Brooks Berylman, and our guest for that was our buddy, Chad. Here is the haiku for this one, clip number ten. Speaker 0
Bulldogs celebrate the no show record party. Lost their pants and hair. Next up, barrelman. Breezer twins in Sudbury? Yes. Ontario. Shorsey sets the tone. Goes till he can't go no more. Has he gone too far? Speaker 3
Now, apropos to the episode, Matt here shares a story of one of his, finer moments, of intoxication. Here we go. Speaker 0
We're outside, so my friend could have a smoke. And I looked up in the sky. I'm like, man, that moon is bright tonight. He's like, no, dude. That's the fucking sun. Like, I I I had no clue that it was five AM and that sunrise was happening. Speaker 5
I'm like, oh, wait. Wrecked. Do you Speaker 3
I should never be that drunk again. Speaker 6
Yeah. Well, you can't tell there's no moon in the sun. Speaker 3
Yeah. Wait. Wait. It was just it Speaker 0
was just hitting the horizon, so I thought it was just, like, a lighter sky, and then he's my buddy laughed. He's like, no. Speaker 3
Hey. I know. I forgot about that. Hey. I know. The title of that clip was Mixing Up the Moon and Sun, A Night to Remember. Speaker 1
If you remember that night, you were not there. Speaker 3
Anyway, yeah, that's the that's the episode where we finally see this infamous, party that they had celebration that they had after the perfect season. And, yeah, it it I mean, I don't think it it disappointed anybody. It got straight freshes from everyone. It was a unicorn. We'll start with awesome. Let me guess. Speaker 1
Yeah. Mhmm. No. Okay. Even more than five or six, I think. This is the freshest fresh. Speaker 1
And this this may be the best episode of Shorzy that has ever that there will Speaker 3
I think we all kind of were saying basically the same thing during that episode that this is the probably the the highlight of Shorzy so far, the season the series. Speaker 1
I mean because you get you go from the highest to the highs. Right? And it's satisfying because they've been dropping breadcrumbs throughout the pre three, three previous episodes. They've been dropping breadcrumbs the entire time about how Speaker 1
Bucky this party was. And then you truly get to see it. And it is triumphant. Right? Speaker 1
It is awesome in the old sense. Right? Like, full of awe. Because and you're right there with these guys as they're going through the best night of their lives. Speaker 1
And then it turns on a dime. It's like a hockey stop, you know, where, like Shorzy does where he, slides his skates and then takes off in the opposite direction. It's so fucking gutty Speaker 7
Yeah. And brutal. Speaker 3
And it's got that one great scene where you have the the sluts still feeling hot at the club, even though, like, they're half naked already. Yeah. Fish dropping the trophy all in one scene and then JJ, Frankie JJ getting slapped in the background by by Laurence de Beauf, all happening. Speaker 1
That's what I mean. Yeah. Yeah. In the background. That's what I mean about you have to watch it once for what's happening in the foreground, once for what's happening in the background. You get a whole story in the background Mhmm. In this episode. Speaker 1
A whole ass story. And if you are not paying attention, you're missing out. Speaker 3
Yep. Dean, there. All that Speaker 6
all that was great. It's just, awesome describing what a hockey stop was. Remind me of Fox putting a red bow around the club for the Americans. Speaker 1
on. Most of your listeners are American. I'm not even a hockey fan per se, but I know what a hockey stop is. Speaker 3
Yeah. No. I know. He's he's giving you kudos in his in his Victor way. Speaker 0
It's clear that you know. Yeah. Dean. Dean. Speaker 3
Would you give this one? Speaker 2
I give this one a fresh as well. The, I'm gonna go ahead and tell you my MVP right now was the ecstasy that Shorzy got. Speaker 1
Oh, god. Yeah. The my fucking Mercedes might be the MVP. Yeah. Hospital. Speaker 0
She enabled that whole night. Speaker 2
Oh, she, yeah, she causes the she causes the cocaine, rage or whatever you wanna call it. Speaker 2
them all massaging each other is Speaker 0
Do it to yourself. Speaker 1
It's not as good. Speaker 3
That whole scene. Yeah. Speaker 2
Oh god. Yeah. That was hilarious. So, yeah, the, yeah, I really liked the episode. It was it was nuts. It was it was chaos. I'll just put it that way. Yeah. Speaker 3
Did it live up to the billing? Because they really built it up. Right? They built it up over the the previous three episodes. Did it live it up up to that, build up? Speaker 2
Yeah. Totally. Yeah. It even more so. I mean Yeah. Because you're you're, you're figuring out they just got they got really hammered and did some stupid shit, but, no, it was so much more than that. So Speaker 0
For what it's worth, the the IMDB has this episode as the second highest rated episode of the entire series. Speaker 3
Oh, okay. After what? I bet you the season finale of of series one of season one. Speaker 7
Yeah. Oh. A hundred percent. That's it. Speaker 3
Oh, this is a finale. This this one, really. Speaker 0
Which I would agree with. Speaker 3
And I and I didn't. But, anyway, okay. Well, we'll get to that. We're alert. Speaker 6
They know alert. Yeah. Speaker 1
I I I have a little bit more that I want to say a bit. This this episode is a fucking master class of storage. Look. This episode is minus titles and credits is just twenty two minutes long. Mhmm. And there are no fewer than three multiminute montages without any dialogue. Speaker 1
Right? And in that frankly microscopic window, Jared manages to cram in three episodes worth of story. Speaker 3
Yeah. I mean, it's what they do best. Right? They they Speaker 3
They do their montage as well for sure. Speaker 1
Right? Yeah. And then the the drama of the last three or five minutes Speaker 1
Where there is no music Yeah. No score in a show that is celebrated Mhmm. For its musical sensibilities just really drives home the impact of what's happening. Like, the first time impact. I saw Shorty take that hit
Speaker 1
I thought I was gonna fucking bulk my whole up. Yeah. It was stick making. Yeah. Like and in the short window, after the webin sewed, right, the webinar, to the moment Shorzi takes that hit, that is about three minutes and change. Mhmm. So for them to ramp up the tension in that little bit of space so high and, like, believably. Right? It's not like we're being thrown into the middle of something that's happening, and it's mood whiplash or anything. It is genuinely ratcheted up Yeah. Organically. And to be able to do that in so tight a restriction, it like, I want to take his brains. Like, I want to literally go through them like a Rolodex and find out how it works because I want to be that good Mhmm. Telling a story.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah. Agreed. Now so GameStick's here. Dean, you already gave yours Yep. To Shorezy's ecstasy. That's awesome. Who would you give the GameStick to here?
Speaker 1
I have to give the GameStick to Jared for writing this fucking episode.
Speaker 3
Okay. Alright. That's fair. Let's move on to episode five. Sue Hunt. Our buddy Josh was our guest. And, that one there, here's the haiku for that one.
Speaker 0
Shorzy is concussed and still can't push when he shits. Nat tells him he's benched. The Sioux Hunter next, but they have to face Jory before the Bulldogs. Tough love from the sluts, Nat asks him to contribute. But from the stands? How?
Speaker 3
In this one here, the clip that I I picked well, actually, AI helped me pick is, Victor giving his GameStick.
Speaker 6
So GameStick goes to, a phrase. Oh, no. A phrase that we heard probably all season long, but more in this episode than any other episode, and that is I'm a guy who can't push when he shits. And, since Of course.
Speaker 6
So if you're gonna
Speaker 3
put a ketchup bottle it's like a ketchup bottle thing. Yeah. Like, oh my god. It's so funny.
Speaker 0
Now What did AI name this one?
Speaker 3
Well, before I tell you what AI named it, I'm gonna tell you when AI clipped this clip, it started with Victor saying, I I can't push when I shit. That's where it that's where it started the clip, and then it called the clip the most unexpected confession ever.
Speaker 3
So AI tried to make it sound like this these were words coming from Victor. So don't trust AI.
Speaker 0
I like that version. Right.
Speaker 1
It hallucinates constantly. Yeah.
Speaker 3
So so it completely lost context there, but I feel like it was funnier context, but I needed to rewind a bit to so that we knew that Victor was talking about the game stick and not just himself. Anyway, that episode there got a clearance straight through. It's we call it our Walmart unicorn. We all gave it a clearance because it was, Yeah.
Speaker 1
And you're all fucked up
Speaker 3
about one. Awesome. I'm gonna let you speak.
Speaker 6
It was close to being a compost.
Speaker 3
Yeah. A lot of people and and our buddy, Tobias, even said in his episode, he would have given it a compost. Now, I think many of us said this is probably our least favorite Shorzy episode of all of them. Right? So which is interesting. So, Dean, because you said this season started as a clearance and then kinda turned the corner to being fresh. What did you think of this episode?
Speaker 2
I enjoyed it. Seeing seeing Shorzy, you know, having to step back and and reevaluate, I thought that piece of the storyline, I don't know, I know it's not fun, but it's intriguing, it's interesting. Yeah. The, you know, it builds conflict, which, you know, I think when you're telling a story you gotta have, it raises the stakes, you know? So it's that I I I give this afresh. I, you know, I think it was well written. It really, I think, represented the heart of the show, the how how you know, what it's about. You know? This is about more than just one person. Yeah. So
Speaker 3
There were a lot of great scenes in it, especially between Shorzi and Nat. I think a lot of the issue, I know with Tobias and with myself too, was just the way that the first part of that was edited together. It didn't make a whole lot of sense because the way I I I like the tone it was trying to make set. But the way the previous episode ended, it kind of erased all that by having Shorzy back in the locker room fully conscious and and contemplating going back into the game. He'd just been knocked out, had his jersey cut off. You know what I mean? Like, he should've gone in the hospital. Anyway, there's a whole lot there that around concussions and protocol and stuff like that there.
Speaker 7
That was the next one.
Speaker 0
Yes. It was. Yes. It was.
Speaker 3
It was this one. Yep.
Speaker 0
And that was we all did we all had issue with the opening. It didn't make sense. Yeah. It did. Like, logically, it came from a a reality perspective.
Speaker 6
It it turned itself into a cartoon. It devalued the previous episode, and there was other issues with this episode as well. I I just can't remember. But the biggest was just the the the thing around the guy should be going to the hospital. They shouldn't be and the fact I think the the thing that truly bothered me is when he on him by himself tried to walk, around the corner. I I I forget if it was to the dressing room, away from the dressing room, and that they would just let him. Like, they just would let him
Speaker 1
that under one arm each, and then he
Speaker 1
Pushed him off, and he wanted to walk on his own.
Speaker 6
Yeah. No. You don't let your buddy it's it's like it's after a hit like that, it's like letting your buddy get in the car with you with, after drinking. Mhmm. Right?
Speaker 0
Remember, there was a bit of a gap in in time line as well, it felt, the way where they were sitting in the dressing room, the other period was still hap or it was it was just starting or something of that nature. And and
Speaker 1
The second period was just starting
Speaker 0
got off that. From a from a timeline perspective either. So we we had some we found some gaps or Yeah. We believe to be gaps in the story.
Speaker 3
Some memory gaps. But, anyway They
Speaker 2
don't take him to the hospital is because so the story can happen.
Speaker 3
For sure. No. We we understand. Wow.
Speaker 7
Hard to agree. Yeah.
Speaker 1
You've got to accept that this is actually a cartoon.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Sure. But this the beginning to that episode, like like Victor said, kind of took away from how impactful the end of the previous episode was. The the previous episode was holy fuck. He got hit. The screen went black for for how many seconds? What's going on with Shorzy? And then to to kinda bring him back and have him be kind of anyway. So, look, it was a clear like, we just no one gave it a compost. Although, last like, like I said, Tobias in his episode said he he would have given it a compost, but I think he has stronger being a former football coach and stuff, he had a stronger feeling about that, you know, what concussion program.
Speaker 6
it was irresponsible. Yeah.
Speaker 7
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2
I mean, the thing is, though, we have to remember, yeah, this is this is a cartoon.
Speaker 2
Yeah. And and and yes, the the the the thing was talked about. And we're I think we are used to fighting in this show. Mhmm. And, you know, when you're beating somebody with your hand, eventually, someone's gonna get knocked out. Yeah. That's a concussion there. So I I think that's Well, not
Speaker 3
a gym one gym one doesn't think so. He's been knocked out five times, whatever. That's a lot of concussions. Like, I've never had a concussion.
Speaker 1
That's actually a shout out to the Don Cherry Films. Please watch them.
Speaker 6
But but there's degrees. There's degrees. Right? It's the different Okay. Getting hit with a fist and with an eighteen wheeler. Right? Yeah.
Speaker 7
It's it's Perfect.
Speaker 0
For the comment. Like like like, we keep using the word cartoon. And although I agree, going back to the previous episode, there was nothing cartoonistic about the ending of that. It was very hard hit, serious moment. Like, any belief of a cartoon kind of falsified world in there, to me, was out the window. Yeah.
Speaker 3
Took your breath away. You know? Yeah.
Speaker 0
Yeah. They they were they're really going in a serious way and then to not I I love to invoke this.
Speaker 1
I hate to invoke this, but I am going to. The end the final episode of Rick and Morty series three Oh. Where Rick gives himself
Speaker 0
a punch. Punch. Literally. It's
Speaker 0
Do you remember when we met Pinky and the Brain? They were trying to take over the world, but no. I'm
Speaker 3
just gonna take over the world. Doing today. Okay. Awesome. What do you give this episode? What do you
Speaker 0
Alright. Okay to
Speaker 1
be ready. And, honestly, this episode allows Jared to stretch and flex acting muscle that he's not gotten to since he started let her well, since nineteen two ended.
Speaker 1
So I really appreciate that and the repeated refrain he has about being so fucking mad at Nat when he says it with tears in his eyes
Speaker 3
I loved those scenes. I loved those scenes. Loved them.
Speaker 6
Oh, nineteen two is coming to Netflix.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I I've seen that.
Speaker 3
Exciting. Exciting. For them.
Speaker 0
Yeah. You can scratch it off your script now.
Speaker 3
I I I was just writing it down to say it, and now I'm gonna scratch it off my script. Yes.
Speaker 3
Is that just in Canada or the US as well? Do you know?
Speaker 1
I haven't checked the US. Okay. But, I suspect it might be different.
Speaker 0
Yeah. Listen. My my final thought my final thought in this episode we continue is, yeah, there was amazing moments. I I totally agree with you, Austin. Jared excelled in this one. I just personally had a big issue with that opening. I I think I loved what they attempted to do. Yeah. I just don't think it came across in the way that they had hoped to for me.
Speaker 3
Yeah. And if you're not gonna be serious, you
Speaker 3
not gonna be serious, you better be funny. And that episode was less funny than we're used to in Shorzy. Again, we're comparing Shorzy to Shorzy. Right? So of all three seasons, for me anyway, this
Speaker 3
Has been the weakest episode. That's all. Yep. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Well, this has been the most dramatic episode. I
Speaker 1
Like, from a storytelling point of view, it is not the weakest. I would argue instead that the, series one episode three probably is the low point of storytelling.
Speaker 3
Which is that? Well, remind me. That's not the family role.
Speaker 1
The one know your role. No. That's the one where they finally win a game and then ten, he quits.
Speaker 1
So they have to get Michael's back in. Anyway Yeah. But
Speaker 6
Isn't that that's the penis episode.
Speaker 1
Yes. That is the penis episode.
Speaker 3
What do you have against Michael's penis? Come on. Anyway Wow.
Speaker 1
So obviously fake. Like, if he was a real actor, he woulda actually gotten his junk out.
Speaker 3
Alright. We need to really get moving here. So game Okay.
Speaker 7
I I'm trying, but
Speaker 1
I keep getting interrupted. You dumb fuck. Alright.
Speaker 0
Well, you started talking about Rick and Morty, so who fucking knows what's coming out of your mouth? No.
Speaker 3
To prove there wasn't a cartoon, he you you invoked a cartoon. I don't know. I was just
Speaker 1
No. I'm no. I'm saying that my point with Rick and Morty is that even actual No.
Speaker 0
I didn't ask for the point now. Dramatically dramatic. Fighting that.
Speaker 1
No. Can we please make this final fucking point without getting interrupted?
Speaker 1
Okay. The scene where Shorsey confronts Nat in the townhouse, and she asks him the question, has it occurred to you that I care about you more than I do about winning? Yep. The answer to that question is no. It has never occurred to him because he doesn't care about himself
Speaker 1
More than he cares about winning. Like, to this point, we have all kind of glossed over the fact that Shorsey is actively suicidal.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Given his comments at the beginning of the previous episode and and what he said in the past about losing. Yes.
Speaker 6
And and, awesome, that line
Speaker 1
Gore a laugh, but he's not fucking joking.
Speaker 6
Yeah. Yeah. That that line and a couple of others are the reasons this episode didn't get a compost. Yeah. That that that those are not reasons why it's a fresh. Those are reasons why it's state of clearance.
Speaker 3
Yeah. That was one of my favorite, moments of the show, for sure, when when Nat says that to Shorzy. Love that moment. But it wasn't enough yet to bring this into a fresh alright. We we've gotta move on, though. Game sticks.
Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 3
Tanya gave it to Zeig. I gave it to Nat because of those scenes. I love those scenes with Nat and Shorzy. Matt gave it to Shorzy. Victor gave it, we heard, to the the phrase I can't push when I shit. And our our guest, Josh, gave it to Nat. It's awesome. Who who do you give the game stick to?
Speaker 1
I'm giving it to Shorsey, but specifically in the company of Liam and Corey. When he starts that shit in the stands
Speaker 1
That's it. That's the game stick right there. They're both he just looks he doesn't have to say anything. He just kinda nods his head. He doesn't even look directly at them, but they both are on the same page with him.
Speaker 2
Yeah. That was great.
Speaker 1
That's it. That's the game stick, baby.
Speaker 2
I can give that to Corey and Liam. They're they're just automatically on board. There's not a question in their minds about it. Right. They just go for it. And they're they're
Speaker 1
They've been chirping those guys being ditched right behind them the entire time.
Speaker 3
Yeah. So that's your game state, Corey and Liam?
Speaker 3
Alright. Excellent. Alright. Final, episode here. The season finale, called Les Rapides Rodin, and our buddy Tobias was our guest for that one. Let's see here. Clip number fourteen is the haiku. Here we go.
Speaker 0
Shorzy's final game, setting the tone one last time. Try to win it all. Future is unknown, uncertain what will come next, one more to play, though. In the end, he'll go until he can't go no more. Leave it on the ice. So get on the go. Last time, Shorzy, you ready? Good. Because you're going.
Speaker 3
And, in this episode here, we discuss, Matt, discusses a reality show featuring Victor that he'd like to see.
Speaker 0
Victor, I finally decided. I think you need your own reality show. Like, it's like The Truman Show, but
Speaker 3
it's The Truman Show.
Speaker 0
And we just follow you around, and it would be the most amazing, hot mess.
Speaker 3
I feel like you would be a cross between Truman Show and mister Bean.
Speaker 0
Yeah. It's it we would be gold, whatever it is, and people would be like, why are we still watching this? And they can't look away. It would be an award winner for sure.
Speaker 3
I've I've got a couple other clips here. For example, this one here where Matt talks about a night where the munchies got to him.
Speaker 0
So if you're ever in this situation where you have the munchies and you're hungry and you don't have snack food, you you get you get into d gen mode. So my d gen mode quickly became simply a bowl of rice for my step one, which did satisfy my need. Then I took you know, those Ritz crackers, the, like, the sandwich ones that have the fake cheese and peanut butter in the middle? Yeah. Yeah. Those Yeah. Yeah. I put those on a plate, and then I grated cheese on top because I thought that would enhance the experiment. And then I ate that, but I still didn't do it. So then I topped it off with a bowl of just corn and peas and butter and cheese. Literally, I'm like, I was so hungry and and ridiculous and but I'm like, I I needed didn't have anything to eat.
Speaker 5
That's bad planning. Like Yeah. I feel like you put the you put the card before the horse.
Speaker 6
Isn't isn't there, like, DoorDash in Canada? Yeah.
Speaker 0
There is, but I'm super cheap too. And I couldn't wait that long. It's like,
Speaker 1
no. I just want it.
Speaker 0
So I just I literally opened my freezer. I'm like, what do
Speaker 6
Mixed crackers was better than waiting? That's amazing. I would have finished with the crackers. I think that was your mistake.
Speaker 0
Yeah. Well, I I did I think that's why I did I did put enough cheese on them, so I was not
Speaker 3
satisfied with the outcome. I think Stoned Matt is a reality show we all wanna watch.
Speaker 5
Where where you're confusing the sun and the moon. Yeah.
Speaker 0
that was drunk, Matt.
Speaker 3
The name the name of this, of this clip, Epic Munchies Meltdown from Rice to Ridiculous. I'm not making this shit up. This is actually what came up.
Speaker 3
Oh, man. And then after his one one last clip before we actually get back to the episode. It's not
Speaker 0
me again, is it?
Speaker 3
Well, it's me commenting on your munchies ordeal, which, yeah. It's just a quick one here. Your local pot store needs to sell, like, a marijuana survival kit where you know, that comes with munchies and stuff. I I feel like that that could
Speaker 5
be, like market for that.
Speaker 2
their version of
Speaker 3
a combo. You know, at McDonald's, you get fries, a burger, and a pop. At at at the pot shop, you should get pot, chips, and half a ham. I don't know.
Speaker 5
Roasted chicken with that.
Speaker 1
Like, some jerky. Yeah.
Speaker 0
It should be a surprise bag too. That'd be better. You don't even know what you're getting until
Speaker 1
They give it to you in, like, a brown paper lunch bag.
Speaker 1
get it in, like, a brown paper lunch bag. You know?
Speaker 3
The name of this clip is marijuana survival kit. But what's funnier is when when AI picks the clips, it actually gives me a notice to why it picked the clip, and the reasoning for this is hilarious. This clip is attention grabbing and humorous, offering a unique business idea that would resonate with many listeners. It is provocative.
Speaker 1
A cliff flipping bike. So now you've got your next bike project.
Speaker 3
Oh, man. Oh. Just anyway, we're we're gonna be
Speaker 0
AI more and more.
Speaker 3
We're gonna be ruled by AI in the future. Anyway, let's get back to the episode here. Matt gives, his review of the episode in, in this final clip.
Speaker 0
My god. This is some of the best TV I've seen in a long time, in my opinion. Mhmm. Very little was said except for the between periods, but the way they shot it, cut it, the music, the intensity build across those things. I like your your description of the the the rhythm and the beat because it was so spot on, especially that third period. But, like, it just it just got me. And then I've always talked about not being a sports fan. I don't know if you guys knew this, but I like
Speaker 0
I I like sports stories. Right? So this that back half of this episode is exactly why I love sports movies and some of that is the way they did this. That speech alone, you know, it takes me back to, like, you know, coach Carter and Samuel L. Jackson doing his speech or Billy Bob Thornton doing the perfect speech Mhmm. In Friday Night Lights. Right? Or or even Emilio Estevez in d two with his whole ducks fly together speech. Right? Like,
Speaker 6
those Totally more like
Speaker 0
Right? I'm just saying, like like, they they they all they all have their own moments in their different spaces. And I thought the way he approached everyone was brilliant.
Speaker 3
You know, Matt, for a non sports fan, you you know a lot about sports movies.
Speaker 0
I do. There's so much variation in
Speaker 6
the world. The Don Cherry movie, Matt, by the way?
Speaker 0
I actually haven't yet. It's it's been one of those ones I I I need to watch. I just haven't which is a shame because I know there's a guy that we know who's on the in the movie.
Speaker 6
So Mhmm. I don't know. It's a great
Speaker 3
it's a great movie.
Speaker 1
watch. Yeah. It's good. Matt. Matt, I will send you the file.
Speaker 6
No. It's it's available on Amazon.
Speaker 3
Awesome's your pusher. She's got the file. Alright. This episode here was a unicorn. No no surprise there. Fresh from everyone, including Tobias. Awesome. You're up. Do I have to ask?
Speaker 1
Obviously, it's a fresh
Speaker 3
Yes. It's a fresh
Speaker 1
Look. Jared knows how to craft a story that is so satisfying yet still leaves you craving more.
Speaker 1
This ending made me feel good. Of fucking course, it's sad because Waffles lost a huge, huge part of his life and his identity, but there's also hope. Right? Because now he has so many possible futures where he had never even considered Mhmm. Having any kind of a future. The look on his face when Laura asked him if he could be happy, like, if it was even possible for him to be happy without hockey does it all. Right? He's absolutely crestfallen.
Speaker 1
He had been avoiding thinking about the reality of not being a hockey player anymore because it is so central to his identity. He literally can't conceptualize life as anything other than a hockey player. And there she is. Right? The woman of his dreams asking him if he could possibly be something other than what he is at his core, and he doesn't have an answer for her. And then the entire montage of him walking around in between this interview
Speaker 1
gets to the locker room, he's completely dissociated from himself.
Speaker 1
He's not he's fucking checked out.
Speaker 1
He cannot confront the imminent future.
Speaker 3
Yeah. That slow push in on him in the locker room when when they're doing the roll call before the game was really powerful, really well done. And, yeah, you can see
Speaker 1
it's And it's a total callback to his, you know, D and M Yeah. Sesh with Laura on the steps to Colson. It's the last place I can really be me.
Speaker 1
And that's being taken away from him.
Speaker 3
Yep. Yeah. Okay. Dean. Yeah.
Speaker 2
I'd give it a fresh. It's, it was it was a good it was the topper. You know? It's it's, it's exactly what you needed for the end of the season. It was super heartfelt. But, not But not leaving out any of the humor. The little part between Joy Jordan and Shorzy Yeah.
Speaker 0
I love the hell.
Speaker 2
After the you know, he's very like, listen, I really wanna thank you because, you know and so which kinda took Shorzy back there, realizing, you know, what this all means
Speaker 2
Aside from just him.
Speaker 3
And the way he walked away, but then started running when he got, you know, far far enough for you.
Speaker 3
It was really fun.
Speaker 1
But he doesn't, like, just burst into a sprint. He does that goofy ass white people in a crosswalk run.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah. Game stick. Victor gave it to, the fucking butter fountain, in at the at the lobster feast. Yes, Dean. That is exactly the reaction, you should be giving this one. Tanya gave it to Nat. I gave it to Shorzy. Matt gave it to Shorzy. Tobias gave it to Shorzy. I mean, yeah, this is all about Shorzy and and grappling with his life after hockey. Dean, what do you who do you give this to?
Speaker 2
Yeah. I can't not give it to Shorzy. He's he's at the end at the beginning and the end, he's the heart. Yeah. And it's what it's where everything this he's the central figure, you know, that everybody rotates around. And, I think he's really having an existential moment right now, and it's gonna be interesting to see where it goes. And I love the way Jared's doing it.
Speaker 3
Yep. Yeah. Well put. Awesome.
Speaker 1
Same. It's sure. Mhmm. It's Pat. You know? He not only is he the central figure in this episode or even but, like, in the whole show. Right? Everything has revolved around his journey through hockey and his journey to find who he is as a hockey player. And now part two is gonna focus on his journey to find who he is as not a hockey player.
Speaker 1
You know? I can't wait to see where it goes.
Speaker 3
Yeah. It's gonna be interesting because we've we've been given three options or three kind of possibilities. So we'll talk about that in a second.
Speaker 1
I'm calling it now. Yeah.
Speaker 1
He's gonna coach.
Speaker 3
Some of the screenshots that they're sharing, it it it feels like they're giving it away, but we'll see. Anyway, let's move on to overall season rating, and this is where we all get involved again. Starting with me, I'll be quick because we're running a little long. This is a fresh season. I mean, overall, the the it it has the best episode of the series, like, of all three seasons, in my opinion, and but also the worst episode of all three series in my opinion. But overall and and on average, it was definitely afresh. Tanya, what did you think of this season? Speaker 5
I agree. Overall, it was afresh. There were some weak moments that I didn't love. Mhmm. But there was nothing that was bad or nothing that was compost. So, yeah, for sure, I think, fresh. Speaker 0
Matt? Yeah. It's really easy fresh on this one. I agree. There was a couple moments here and there, a couple misses, and and I'm sure it'll get into more. But, I'll get the one miss to me was the the the the lack of the family. I would've I wanted to see more of them, and, maybe there were some reasons, but I've that felt really, like, even when they include them for that one shot, it's almost like why why why Speaker 3
even at that point? Speaker 0
Yeah. So that was a little disappointing, but aside from that, I mean, I loved it. The and I think one of my things I like the most and and, awesome, you made it very clear, and I totally agree. It's not one versus the other, but the with the Skeen brothers taking over direction this season, it really brought a different tone, and and a flavor to the show, which I really enjoyed. I thought it gave this season Speaker 0
fresh view on it all. So, really applaud that that, work. Obviously, miss Tierney, and and then, of course, the oh my god. Remy Nadeau. Yeah. And although Yeah. Right. But I'm sure there there's reason behind the scenes for all that, but, yeah, it's a fresh season. It was great. Speaker 6
Victor. Yeah. So, it's a fresh the math the simple math. Mhmm. But more than that, I think that when you look at the things that we're missing, obviously, Remy and, Speaker 6
Benny. Thank you. The the Apollicetti brothers. I don't Speaker 5
know if you agree. Gonna say the same thing. Speaker 1
And Yeah. We only got Mercedes. Speaker 6
Yeah. We got Mercedes. But But there Speaker 5
was a whole story line that was dropped. Like, there the whole limo and Speaker 3
Well, maybe it'll come back Speaker 7
in the next season. Speaker 6
Yeah. So so there's with all those misses, plus probably the worst episode of the series in this season Mhmm. I think that all of that, overall, it's easily the best season because it had the most the the realest, storyline to it. Yeah. The stakes were highest in this season than the previous two. And, and and it had probably two of the best episodes from the entire series. Speaker 6
Right? So with, I guess it was three and and six. Yeah. So, so it's, Speaker 6
Four and six. Yeah. I you confuse me with your penis episode. Anyway, yeah. So it's easily the freshest season so far, and, I can't wait for the next one. Speaker 3
Alright. Awesome. Speaker 1
Okay. Matt, I agree with you. I wish we had gotten more of the family. I think a lot of that is down to the fact that they love to keep these episodes tight, and there was a lot of criticism right after series two about how they had wasted time focusing on Waffles family so much. And especially because, like, you guys all, like, clearanced episode four of series one because of the family reunion scene. So I think they've gotten the message that we don't want to see his family. Speaker 6
We wanted we just want better writing. Speaker 1
Further from the case. Mhmm. Right? Like Yeah. That is that's the genesis. That's where he comes from. Speaker 1
That's where he's grounded in. We need to see that to see how far he's come and to to plot his trajectory in the future. Yeah. Speaker 0
And that's a total sorry. Really quick. That's a totally fair point, and and I and I agree with also Victor. Like, I love the idea of his family, and I I love what they started. I think they could have done it in different ways, and I would have loved to see more than that. Speaker 3
Or maybe just spread it out throughout the season as opposed to having one lot like, one episode almost dedicated just to the family. Right? Thank you. Heart agree. Speaker 1
think a lot of that is a function of pacing and availability in combination with each other. Speaker 3
And I'm wondering and, Austin, you may know the answer to this or not, but it seems like it would be a waste to bring those actors back just for that one really quick scene where they don't say anything. I'm wondering if they didn't shoot that scene in the previous season already knowing they were going to need that scene in the following like, since they already had them in Sudbury all you know what I mean? Like Speaker 1
I do not know. And even if I did, I don't think I would be allowed to come. Speaker 3
No. Yeah. I'm but I'm just I'm saying it out loud. I'm I'm positing that that that might be what they did because I can't imagine them getting Scott Thompson to to come go up Sudbury for a thirty second scene Speaker 3
where he doesn't have a line. Yeah. Yeah. It's kinda hard to imagine. Speaker 6
Superman one and Superman two were Speaker 7
filmed at the same time. Speaker 3
Yeah. That's what I mean. Like, I feel like maybe Jared said, hey. While we have you guys here in town, I've got this idea for next season. Let's shoot it, and that way we have it in case we need it. Right? Like, I feel like that might might have been what you did. Speaker 1
Get some b roll just to have some rounds in the chamber. Speaker 3
Exactly. Dean, overall, what's your rating? Speaker 2
Fresh. And I I, again, I I like everybody else, I agree there how the family is being handled. It it they'll it did feel shoehorned, and it was unnecessary. The the story would have been the same even without it. Speaker 3
Well, I was happy to see that. Speaker 1
Disagree on No. No. Speaker 2
Don't get me wrong. I was happy to that Speaker 1
the story wouldn't be the same because the whole object was Nat told him talk to your family. I know how close you are to them. This is a big decision. Go talk to them about it. Mhmm. So he talks to them, and then he makes his decision. That's when he puts his head down, that is when he's made his decision. Speaker 3
Yeah. It seems everybody Speaker 1
have that scene, you would not have that established. Speaker 6
Yeah. It could even have been done over a phone call. Speaker 1
Coming out of nowhere. Speaker 3
Phone call or or given a few lines, just, like, just to have that, you know, his father say, you know, short, you know, short is or waffle, you know, it's it's a tough decision. Speaker 1
Think it's time. Speaker 3
Or what Whatever. Yeah. Whatever it would be. Yeah. Just like but anyway. Alright. We'll move on. MVPs for this season. Oh my god. And, I mean, it's easy because this is the story of Shorzy and and Yeah. You you say he's the it's the heart of the show. So it's it's Waffle. Yeah. It's it's Shorzy. My MVP for the entire season three is Shorzy. Tanya? Speaker 5
I you know, this one's actually hard. There were so many strong act strong acting and and storylines in this season, Speaker 5
I I like, I voted all over the place, for Sanguinet and Shorzi, Dolo, Zig, Nat. Like, there were so many great, story lines. But at the end of it all, it is Shorzy's story, and he has the biggest story arc. Speaker 5
So, of course, it goes to him. Speaker 0
Yeah. I I can't not give the the the main to to to our man, Shorzy, there. This was just such a strong season for him. He got to flex a lot of muscles. I don't think awesome. You called that out that he hasn't stretched in a while, and it really paid off because it was a lot of fun. I do again wanna recall back my honorable mentions are the Skeen brothers. Mhmm. And the direction of the season, I really enjoyed. So was it Sean Skeen on episodes one, two, and three, and Dan Skeen on episodes four, five, and six were at the helm. Speaker 1
Might have been the other way around, but yeah. Speaker 0
Something of that nature. But Yeah. These two Speaker 1
it was very clearly three and three. Like, one brother did the first three, and the other brother did the second three. Speaker 0
Yeah. They definitely brought a fresh flavor to this that I really enjoyed, and I wanna give a shout out to them. Yeah. Speaker 3
I mean, I'll shout out my honorable mentions this, this season too where Zeke, I thought, was one of her stronger episodes of her seasons. Yeah. And San Juanette, I think, was was a pretty good, like, story arc this season. Victor, what about you? Speaker 6
I guess I mean, you can't really give it to anybody except Shorzy. Right? I mean, all of us have given it to we we we were all over the place. I'd like to give it to the, what, butter fountain, but it it only made one appearance, but it was very, very impactful. Speaker 7
a twat, Nectar. Yeah. Speaker 6
And, yeah, I'd like to give it Speaker 2
In that case, you gotta give it to Gord. Speaker 2
if if it's because Speaker 1
it's his fucking banquet table, ain't it? Speaker 6
Yeah. If he hadn't Speaker 2
have brought the if he hadn't have brought the crab and lobster Speaker 2
That the butter fountain would not be there. Speaker 6
I agree with you. I mean and that's the I mean, I also agree with Tanya that, you you know, maybe we have to give it to the truck, because that was, one of the funniest, cold opens so far. Oh, Speaker 3
The short box, whatever. Okay. But you're giving it to Shorzy. Right? You're giving it Speaker 6
I have to give it to Shorzy because, I mean, at the end of the day, he's the glue on here. Speaker 3
Yep. Glue on. Yeah. Awesome. Speaker 1
So my honorable mentions, has a great fucking arc. Like, her fucking face, when Shorzy calls her a legit hottie Mhmm. Like, oh my god. Like, he he she's she's finally realized that for as much shit as Waffle gives her, it is coming from a place of love and respect. He talks to her the exact same way he talks to Free and Carrie. That bitch is his sister. Mhmm. And she finally realizes it because he's like, yeah. Duh. You're hot. Like, you can do anything you want. Speaker 2
And then he asked, don't worry. Speaker 1
Just. And then okay. This is gonna sound because I don't actually enjoy his character, but Frankie is my other runner-up because his arc Speaker 2
His Twitter feed. Speaker 2
give his Twitter feed a runner-up. Speaker 1
Fuck his Twitter feed. No. Speaker 7
He's like, alright. Over to it, he Speaker 1
is so interesting. Right? Like, he's got all these bitches who are interested in him for God knows Speaker 1
Whatever fucking reason. Speaker 3
That reminds me. That is the other reason why episode five was almost a compost. We hated we were so sick and over that storyline. Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. Alright. Speaker 0
It's been completely blocked out of my memory. Speaker 6
Played out. Yeah. I knew there was another reason we didn't like it. Speaker 7
That was it. But, like, the the juxtaposition Speaker 1
the juxtaposition of the series two and series three segments is really interesting. Because in series two, we're kinda led to believe that these women are just hitting on him for his diet and whatever. But that turns out not to be the case. Right? Like, so in three, he's Frankie is absent. He's not skating. He's not hitting. He's not scoring. He's not fighting. He's fucking floating Speaker 1
Throughout the the the championship. Right? And and, obviously, throughout the playoffs too because they didn't fucking win. So he's he is embodying the rest of the team as they were in series one, right, versus Shorzy, who is putting in the work, who is putting in the effort. He shows up. And in in series two, right, Sanger makes the threat to fish that if you don't score, you're cut. And we find out it's not a threat. He was perfectly willing to cut him Speaker 1
Because he's not showing up. He's not scoring. He's not doing the work. And okay. Granted that, sure, he isn't scoring either, but he is finding other ways to contribute and that is repeatedly pointed out, but Frankie isn't doing that. Speaker 3
Mhmm. Sure. It's it's fine. Speaker 6
Nothing nothing that you've said in your function junction thesis has made that scene anymore Speaker 0
Yeah. It it's watchable. Yeah. It's just true. Speaker 3
We're just over the story Speaker 1
line. That this this consistent demonstration that Frankie doesn't care about anyone but himself is the exact opposite of the ideal hockey player that Nat ensures that you're trying to, like, hold up through their actions. Right? It's the opposite of their organization's core philosophy by the community for the community. Speaker 1
Awesome. He's a hockey player, so despite not wanting to, he spends his time and effort to give back the community. Okay. Frankie is nowhere to be found Speaker 3
Agree with everything you're saying. Don't disagree. It still doesn't change the fact we're getting tired of the the the Frankie storyline. Sorry, but I need to get this moving. Did did you give the MVP? You said it was it was Shorzy. Right? Speaker 1
Yeah. It's Shor. Okay. Obviously, Shor. Speaker 2
Yeah. Shorzy. My I think my, my honorable mentions, one of them would would actually be Gord. I have Speaker 2
I kinda get this feeling like he's gonna be something Mhmm. In the future. Okay. Speaker 2
know if that's the case, but Interesting. I just had that feeling. The actor seems good. So Speaker 2
And, yeah, Nat and Zig Mhmm. Really, you know, kept kept that fire burning, you know, made sure that everything was still in motion. So, yeah, those were three probably my my three, you know, runner ups there. Runners up. Cool. But, yeah, that's, Shorzy's yeah. Shorzy's the MVP for sure. Speaker 3
Alright. Cool. Now I forgot to do this when we all gave this, this, season a unicorn, so let's Speaker 4
to set the tone, boys. He's gonna fucking set it. Speaker 0
Yeah. Woah. That's gonna go, man. Speaker 3
Yeah. Found that robot up, Sydney. Speaker 0
Okay. Okay. Here, here, out, out for creature. This team will never lose again. Speaker 3
And season three is officially a unicorn. Now, I'm gonna skip the see the future. We'll talk about what we wanna see in the future at Ludda County. Maybe next week at the Ag Hall when we have all our listeners together, and we can we can have that conversation, Tan. Speaker 5
Alright. Yeah. I bet notes. Speaker 3
Just because it's, like, eleven thirty, and and some people on livestream are, like, needing to go to bed. But I do wanna play this because we did get one, a a questionable call for tonight's episode. And guess who? Speaker 12
Hey, guys. Your buddy, Jeff Romaine. Speaker 3
Oh, wait. I gotta play this thing first. Here we go. Speaker 1
What's life without phone first? Speaker 12
Alright. Hey, guys. Your buddy, Jeff from Maine again. No time to drop one of my fantastic Jeff puns because I've got some exciting news that is definitely gonna earn me my own segment. I found a sponsored way to podcast. Please allow me to present to you Pastor Glenn's Ontario style donair sauce, The only donair sauce made by hand in Letterkenny, Ontario. Creamy tangy with a hint of salt, it's sure to make the boys come running. Pastor Glenn sauce, the best thing on shaved meat. Use code produce stand penalty box at checkout to get a free salty treat with your order. Just wanna say great episode recapping the season finale with Tobias two weeks ago, some of the best analysis of the podcast to date. But let's talk Gamesticks for a moment. My runner-up for the Gamestick went to Hitch for, quote, not, unquote, telling the children to go out there and punch someone in the head. He's my hero. But personally, I would have given the Game Stick to one of the best defensemen to ever play the game, the anchor of the team, a real captain, and of course, I'm talking about Stanley Cup winner and Norris Trophy recipient, Zdeno Chara. And three, two, one. Victor's giving me the blue spatula. Now there was a moment in the episode that Tobias touched upon, but I don't think anyone specifically mentioned. Do yourself a favor, go back and watch the scene in Matt's Office that begins around the ten fifteen mark and for me hits the highest note of the entire series with two words we've heard Shorzey say countless times, but this time, when they're uttered at the ten forty five mark, they're different. They're sincere and they really stuck out. Nat says thank you and Shorzey gives an earnest, for what? I can't think of many other instances where character growth can be measured with seven letters in just two well delivered and inflected words. Phenomenal job, Jared. Oh, gotta run. I hear choking and it's either the cat or the twenty thirteen Maple Leafs. Peace and love, y'all. Speaker 3
Boo hoo. Oh. Damn you. Damn you, Jeff. Speaker 1
called it. You Fantastic. Speaker 3
Counted down three, two, one, and Victor presented this fast. Speaker 6
It was perfect. Well done. He's he's I I understood the assignment. Speaker 3
He's actually in the livestream and, and celebrating his win. Alright. Quick news here. Yes. Victor let the cat out of the bag. Those of you who wanna see a very, dramatic, series that, Keesa was in, but also features a lot of Letterkenny actors, and one or two Shoresley actors, check out nineteen two. Apparently, it's gonna be available on Netflix in Canada at least. I don't know if it'll be available in the US as well, but, Canadians will be able to watch that. Also, next week, Dylan Playfair is visiting the produce stand. We're gonna have him on. We're gonna interview him on Thursday. Those of you who are patrons will be able to hear it right away. Those of you who are not will have to wait a week to hear it, but I'm sure it's gonna be a lot of fun. We finally got Riley on. And, all that's left then are final comments. So and I start. So Dean and awesome awesome, always a great job. You you bring a lot a lot of points and and a lot of notes and and stuff, and we appreciate that about you. Speaker 1
It'll be nice if I could get through them. Speaker 3
You know, maybe you shouldn't have to get Speaker 0
through a lot, Austin. Speaker 3
You know what, Austin? Take your notes Speaker 2
for There'll only be so many hours in a show off. Speaker 5
Take it. You dare. I know what you're gonna say. Fuck off. No. Don't say it. Speaker 3
Take your notes, run them Speaker 3
and and have them edit. Speaker 3
Well, now I'm done. Have them edit your notes down. And you better start with the title. Speaker 1
See, I am making actual stallion pony. Speaker 3
I'm feeling sad. Titles Speaker 2
for every for every point that awesome makes. I wanna hear the AI title for Speaker 0
Anyway, deep guy she's gonna break AIs on that. Speaker 3
I'm being sincere when I say this. I love having you back, hearing your voice again. You know, I know that you're you're, you know, not podcasting right now, and that's cool. Like, everyone needs to take a break. Hopefully, it's you know, hopefully, you come back because, I I'll listen to anything you do, bud. So thank you for coming back, And and hopefully, you'll come back for the next season recap of whatever it is. It'll probably be Shorzy season four or Shorzy Forsey, I think they're calling it. So so thanks. Speaker 3
Yeah. Thanks, bud. And you did a great job. Speaker 2
Shorzy. Shorzy. Shorzy. Shorzy. Like Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Yeah. Speaker 5
Awesome. I'll I'll hit Alan later, for that AI development. Speaker 1
So much. You're such a Speaker 5
Thank you so much for coming out. You guys are both so awesome, and awesome's awesome. And, Dean, you're awesome awesome too. Thank you so much. It was so great to hear your voices, and, thanks to, Matt and Victor. It's always fun and running off to bed as quickly as possible. Speaker 0
Hello? Oh, another season in the bag. Here we go, guys. The off season where we get to have all kinds of random funds. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. Awesome. Always a pleasure. I know we we give you a hard time, but but we have nothing but love for you, my friend. Dean, great to see you, man. It's been too long. It's yeah. It's an absolute pleasure, Brad. But you, you you need to come out more often. I know you're doing your thing, but, you know, you've always you've always got a place in the panel here. Speaker 3
Always got a microphone for us. Yeah. Speaker 0
Yep. So great to see. Speaker 2
A microphone. So Speaker 7
Yeah. Yeah. And, yeah. Speaker 6
Meeting you here. Speaker 0
Of course, my fellow panelists, nothing but fun, guys. Always love this, and kinda sad that, well, it's gonna be a beat, but we're gonna keep keep having some fun. Speaker 6
Yeah. Victor. Yeah. This is great. Awesome. We have to have a whole separate segment just for you. But, this this was great, Dean. A little more exotic since we don't get as much of you. Feel free to join our egg hauls as well. Mhmm. They're kinda good drop ins, and invite your, good friend to to to join you with us as well. Speaker 3
His good friend? You mean his wife? Yes. Speaker 2
My wife is a very good friend. Speaker 6
And, yeah. So this was lots of fun. And now the creativity begins. We've got, you know, lots of, space to think about what we wanna do and, think about what these other forty two episodes, are gonna be. Speaker 0
To see all the things that AI told Al to do episodes about. Speaker 3
Yeah. Exactly. AI is taking over. Speaker 6
Yeah. You need to create a, like, an avatar for AI, and it can become like an like a guest panelist as well. Speaker 3
I could do that too. Speaker 5
A unicorn. It needs Speaker 5
a unicorn that talks Speaker 1
Way off. It needs to it needs Speaker 5
to be a talking unicorn. Make it happen. Oh my god. Speaker 6
Call it awesome. Speaker 2
I would love that. Speaker 3
Awesome. Your final words? Speaker 1
I as always, I love being here with you guys. I love getting to talk about all of this shit. I love that there are other people who are, in fact, as insane about these shows as I am. And that I get to, like, drop all my weird fucking thoughts about these shows. Like, like, I genuinely got pushback for pointing out the fact that Shorzi is actively suicidal. Not from you guys, but where everywhere else I've discussed it. Speaker 1
People are just like, no. He's just no. He is not fucking joking. This man is seriously tremendously disturbed. Okay. Speaker 6
And it recognizes the way. Speaker 2
I I have a feeling I I I have a feeling that I know why awesome doesn't want doesn't like AI. She she doesn't want the competition. Speaker 7
not an effort. Oh. You Speaker 3
know, Dean, geographically, you're a lot closer to her than we are. So Oh my gosh. Speaker 1
You're in way more trouble because I'm actually coming up to visit my sister soon. Speaker 0
Fucking You better fucking stop Speaker 2
here then. Goddamn it. I'm gonna take you to the strip club. We'll go do stripperoke. Speaker 1
Oh, we're we're definitely doing stripperoni. Speaker 3
Stripperoni. San Francisco treat. Alright. It's a Speaker 3
I think we lost victory. He fell off his chair. Speaker 7
In San Francisco too. Alright. Speaker 3
