Yet another Thursday keeping up routines. It's the off season, and you know what that means? While new episodes are lacking, the produce stands reacting to a Letterkenny look behind the scenes. Speaker 1
That fresh produce stand there, that's a beauty. Speaker 2
What do you listen to? Speaker 3
My favorite murder podcast. Speaker 4
Taggart and Doran's podcast. Speaker 1
The produce stand. Speaker 5
It's Thirsty Thursday, and that means we are once again hanging out at the produce stand, podcast paying tribute to everything in that universe. Now I know what you're thinking. There are many other Lotta Kenny podcasts out there, but this one is about to get reactive. I'm Al, your host, and joining me in the room as always is the lovely Tanya. Online, we have Squirrely Matt. And filling in for Victor, we have our buddy, Jeff, from the, from the dGen discord group. Thank, thank you for joining us, Jeff. Wondrous. Speaker 1
Oh, my I regret nothing. Speaker 5
So, Victor was supposed to join us tonight, but we got a text about half an hour ago. He's at a company function that was running late, and so he's he he he said he probably won't make it back in time. So there's there's a, a benefit to being on the disc or on the live stream early because, basically, what what I did was I went, oh, who's on the live stream? Jeff. First one on. Jeff, would you like to join us on the podcast, Nate? And he said yes. So, literally plucked off the bench. Jeff, thank you for joining us, bud. Speaker 6
If you're not ten minutes early, you're late. So Speaker 5
So well, I well, alright. Let's get started with, the, you know, how's your week here? Where's my soundboard? There we go. Speaker 0
How are you now? Speaker 5
Tonight's lineup is gonna be Tanya, myself, Matt, and Jeff will have the last word. Tanya, how's your week been? Speaker 7
My week has been, crazy busy. We spent the weekend cleaning and getting the house ready for our family. Our daughter had an event on Sunday and, Her Speaker 5
first communion. Speaker 8
You know? Oh, we Speaker 7
we can. So her first communion. Speaker 5
It's not national security. Speaker 0
the religious talk here. Okay? Speaker 5
Oh, you don't you don't want people to know where Kathy is? Speaker 7
Or politics or actually, I guess we talk about all of those. Yeah. Speaker 0
Yeah. Every one of them. Speaker 5
Okay. Hold on. Here we go. Speaker 0
Talk to him twice, Speaker 1
but you're not exposed to talk about sex, politics, or religion at the Speaker 6
exposed to you. Been sitting on that one. Right? Speaker 5
Well, that that's the kind of clip Speaker 7
be interested. That my dad would repeat that so often. It's not even funny. I heard that so much as growing up as a child. But yeah. So we had that, and, of course, my foot is, still acting up and more so because of all of the stuff that we were doing on the weekend. So I'm ready to cut my foot off, this whole whatever the hell the thing is called is, is Speaker 5
Plantar fasciitis? Speaker 7
Yeah. I'm I'm just considering that my foot is broke because that's how it feels. It feels broke. Every time I wake up and step on it, it's broke. So, still dealing with that. Wish it would go You Speaker 1
are spare parts, aren't you, bud? Speaker 7
But I bought myself a massager. I think I referenced it to Speaker 7
I feel like I'm competing with the board right now. So, yeah, I got a new massager, and I'm trying to, not use it as much because I I'm wondering if it's breaking me more. So that's my new theory. I had Toastmasters last Speaker 7
What's that? No. Nothing. I wish he would massage it. He I've asked I've even, like, throw my foot in his lap. Speaker 7
Once on my birthday that I'm like, okay, dude. I should absolutely get it today. Anyways, we won't go there. Toastmasters, I went last night, for my second time. Got up, did a thing. It's nice to be in with other people that are, like, there in a room, because I I'm online for most of my day and sitting in a chair in a room. So I, it's it's nice to get out. And, I'm glad I'm a part of it and doing it and, looking forward to, taking more more from that. Speaker 7
And we started a new show. I don't remember what the name of it is, but it's a new show. It was the Apple one with Speaker 0
all the What's that? Speaker 5
Pom something Pom Speaker 7
Royale. Pom Royale. Speaker 5
Yeah. Oh, we we caught that first episode, you know, so far, yeah, there's a lot of, like, Speaker 7
Of big names, though. Mhmm. Not that I know them. Speaker 5
It it it looks great. It, like, it's a period piece, and and it looks great. But, Speaker 7
Not that I know what the big names are, but they look familiar. Speaker 0
That these are people that are relatively big Speaker 7
to the rest of the world. Feel like I've seen them Speaker 7
Anyways, it's all good. That's that's my week. I feel like that that's it. I don't remember anything else. So that's gonna be it. Speaker 0
That's good. Remember much to start with. Speaker 5
My week has been busy busy with episode four or five of Yes We Are Open. Been working on that. I did I started a new show too. I started fallout. I'm, three episodes into that. Speaker 5
So far so good. I'm really enjoying it. I I feel like, so I think I am I enjoyed Twisted Metal more. Speaker 0
But Did you play Fallout? Speaker 5
No. I I don't I've never played any of those games. Like, I'm familiar with them, but, yeah. I never but, anyway, I'm I'm enjoying it. It's good. The, the main or I mean, I guess there's no main actor on that. But, the guy who plays the the the cowboy or whatever, I love him. He's like he's a great actor. I forget his name. Speaker 6
Walter Goggins. Yeah. He's, like, Speaker 5
top top five. Every once in a while, he he he reminds me of a young, Jim Carrey. Like, sometimes he he he, like, gives some, like, facial ticks or whatever that that are very Jim Carrey like or whatever. But, yeah, he's really good. Speaker 6
I can see that. Yeah. Speaker 5
The actress in it, she's also she's also in, fire no. The oh, Dana. What's that movie or that TV show where the the girl's soccer team, the playing catch? Speaker 5
Yellowjacket. She's also in Yellowjacket. She's great. She's yeah. I think she's gonna be a big star, like, being in two big shows already like this. So, yeah. That's that's been fun. Yeah. We started palm royal, and had practice number two at the Royal Pains. That's that's going well. And, oh, well, I mean, we'll talk about the big news that that that got dropped on Tuesday in a bit. But, I thought that I was busy, and then that came. That news came, and I'm like, oh, shit. I didn't get anything done on Tuesday. But, we'll we'll we'll get to that in a second, Matt. How's your week been? Speaker 0
My week's been alright, man. Nothing wild. My mom's in town. I know she was here last week, and we had it was great seeing, seeing her. She's now having a great week with, some French and seen in a long time. Speaker 0
So I'm really happy for her. Yeah. I mean, no. I've been binging TV too. Mhmm. I think I mentioned I started into Yellowstone at one point. I don't know if I had or not. Mhmm. That's been one that's been on a high recommendation list for a while. And Speaker 0
Once I got started, I absolutely crushed it. Speaker 0
have four and a half four and a half seasons in, like, two weeks. I just I just dominated that show, and it's very good. I mean, it's definitely I I I can acknowledge that there are definitely some real stretches in the show. Show. Like, they really try to fit like, there's episodes you're like, how many different traumatic events can you fit into one episode? And and is it necessary? So that's my only qualm with it. But aside from that, the it's it's just a well made show. I'm always been a Costner fan. So now I've crushed that, and I'm starting into the, prequels. So eighteen eighty three is the first one, which is with Tim McGraw and Faith, Faith Hill. Also got some big cameos in there, which I wasn't expecting. So Tom Hanks makes a quick appearance. Billy Bob Thornton makes a big appearance, and some small roles. So, yeah, just enjoying the stories of the Dutton family. It's quite a quite a a saga that Speaker 5
Yeah. I mean, I guess. Speaker 7
Game of Thrones was we needed a a bit of a break after that binge. So maybe we're ready for for a new binge. Speaker 0
The biggest description, which I think is accurate, it's like Sons of Anarchy in the West is what it is. Speaker 6
It's it's it's if you Speaker 0
like Sons of Anarchy, Speaker 7
we just thought it Speaker 0
would remind me of. It's it's that kind of I don't know. Jeff, you're looking like you're you're nodding. Have you seen it? Speaker 6
Oh, yeah. Yeah. The cinematography in it alone is worth watching it. Like, it's gorgeous. Speaker 6
It makes you want to go visit Montana. Yeah. Speaker 0
I wanna be a fucking cowboy now. Like Yeah. Speaker 5
Just Joey in the livestream says he knows the family that Yellowstone is loosely based on, so we'll have to get we'll have to ask him about it at the egg hall. And I believe a lot of it is shot in Alberta. Right? So, that's, Speaker 0
get so. Yeah. Anyways, it's it's an yeah. It's actually a it has some beautiful show from, yeah, from a from a cinematography standpoint, but I love it. And the other one I watched, movie because I had to do it was the new Roadhouse remake. Speaker 0
I don't know, man. Amen. Let's see. Let's see. I don't know, man. I was excited, but didn't have high hopes. And let's just say Conor McGregor is tough as shit, but that dude should not be acting. Speaker 0
Like Okay. The moment he walked on screen, I'm like, I'm our oh, I can't do it already. I watched it. There's some fun moments. The story is weak, but that's what you expect from that. Mhmm. They tried to do it. Gyllenhaal's fine. It's just I don't think there was a lot to work with there. Mhmm. So I think were really good. Speaker 6
Yeah. They shot them a different way, which made them look amazing. But no, dude. Yeah. You're absolutely right. Speaker 0
Well, if you're gonna redo a Speaker 5
classic, you better be do you better do something different and you're or unique or original. So I'm hoping, yeah, and other than just adding shittier actors to the same roles. Right? Speaker 0
Yeah. And and it's yeah. I mean, I had to watch it because I was all Roadhouse is an amazing flick. It's so iconic in its time and and, you know but living up to Swayze and everything about it, they tried. The look and feel was there, but Speaker 5
What band did what band replaced Jeff Healy in in Speaker 0
No one band. They I I didn't catch who they all were, but almost every scene, there was a different band on stage. So and they had the the mesh or the the cage in front of them and stuff, throwing bottles at it. Like, there are some throwbacks for sure. Speaker 0
I'd say give it a watch, but Speaker 5
See, I'm not a I'm not a excited. I'm not a hater, so I like, I think he's fine as an actor. Right? So I I'd I'd be interested in watching that. But, yeah, the the whole idea of Conor McGregor, why why? Speaker 0
Oh, he's he's just so mean. I hope you never listen to this because you'll not nihil him, but he just should not be put in front of a camera to act. Speaker 0
It's so bad. The and then the last thing I'll quickly comment is, brave on the preshow. So, obviously, it's playoffs, leisure, the playoffs. My oldest son suddenly out of apparently nowhere decided to become a Leafs fan and a hockey fan. So now we've had to find ways to put sports on our TV, which we've never known how to do before because we don't have cable. So working that out, but I already told him he was watching the game last night, which, of course, the Leafs lost. Speaker 0
was a pretty close game, but they they fell short. And he was so upset. I'm like, bud, you're choosing to be a Leafs fan. Just you need to learn how to how to take it on the chin, bud, because you're just you got a world of hurt ahead of you. He was like, no. They're pretty good. I'm like, you got a world of hurt in front of you is all I kept telling him. He was like, okay. Because he was so worked up. I'm like, alright. But we'll see how this goes. It's how the sports saga continues for him. Speaker 5
At least your son will will will be used to heartbreak and and Yeah. And disappointment because Speaker 6
That's just it, though, Matt. It's like like, if if he's disappointed early on and take this from a long time Boston Red Sox fan, Like, you know, we suffered so long so that when two thousand and four happened, it was the sweetest thing. Like, it made it all worth it. It made it worth it even more. So Yeah. I mean, eventually, when the Leafs are good, Speaker 5
to get, Drew Barrymore and, what's his name up here to do it? Speaker 5
Jimmy Fallon to do a That Speaker 0
was such a good movie. Speaker 5
A hockey related movie. Yeah. Speaker 5
so so what because that'll break the curse is what I was gonna say. Speaker 0
Fever pitch, man. On that on the note so, you know, because he wants to watch it and without fail, fail, I'm like, you wanna watch it, I'll find it for you. You can watch it. Because, you know, I'm I don't know if you guys know this. I'm not a big sports guy. Speaker 0
And I'm not. I'm not. But there are times I wish I was. You know? I I some of my closest friends through my whole life have all been big sports guys, and every time Speaker 5
talk to like a racist trying to convince us you're not a racist. Some of my closest friends are hockey fans. Speaker 7
You know what? I'm with you. I really Speaker 1
every But I wanna be able Speaker 0
to connect sometimes. I'm like, why why can't Yeah. I don't know this, what you're talking about. Even Al and well, this guy and Victor, and they go off for an hour. I'm like, Speaker 0
I I tune out, and Tanya and I talk about stuff. Speaker 7
Every every Of course. You know, I I can't even tell you the number of times we used to go over to to our buddy Greg's place Mhmm. And everyone would be watching the games. I was there for the snacks, and that's when I took up crocheting. Because I was like, okay. Speaker 5
Did a lot of crocheting Speaker 7
the morning. Sit here for how many hours every single every other day or whatever on the way. And it's just like I made blankets. I made, like, absolute queen-size comforter crocheted blankets for people. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 0
So go sports. I'm supporting his interest in sports, and I hope he can Speaker 7
connect with people Speaker 5
through athletics. Before before we move on to Jeff, he did remind me. Tanya and I did watch a movie this past weekend. Speaker 7
Are you gonna admit to that? Speaker 5
I'm gonna admit to it because I can't believe this movie was allowed to be made, and and it was and it was made so recently. But we watched Lone Ranger. Speaker 0
The Johnny Depp one? Speaker 5
The Johnny Depp one. Yeah. Speaker 5
Yeah. It's fun. Yeah. Speaker 0
It's fun. So fun. Speaker 0
Disney fun is what it is. Terrible. Speaker 5
Like, the cultural appropriation, like, having Johnny Depp play Tonto. Like but here's the thing. It was he's so it's Johnny Depp. Right? So it's so much fun to watch. And but, basically, Tonto is just, you know, Jack Sparrow as as a native American. Right? Like, it's basically the same shtick, but it was, yeah, it was mindless fun, to watch the movie. But, yeah, at the same time, it's like, I can't believe and, I mean, we were I looked at the date, like, it was it was ten years ago. Like, I can't believe they they still did this ten years ago. Speaker 0
Well, you know what? I I mentally when I I'm watching that. I mentally had to where I aligned Johnny Depp as tanto was how I align, Robert Downey Junior as Kirk Lazarus Oh. Speaker 5
In, Tropic Thunder. Thunder. Yeah. Speaker 0
So in my head, I'm like, they got away with it there, and it was funny. So now, I guess, they're doing it here. And it's but it it I don't know. That that was where my mind went on that one. Speaker 5
Anyway, it was a lot it was a lot of fun to watch, but it was yeah. Every time we were watching, we're we're we're laughing but feeling so guilty laughing. Jeff, how have you been, bud? Speaker 6
Not too bad. Thanks for having me and glad to fill in. Not a lot going on for me this week. You would but I've been watching. That's one of the things about Letterkenny is, I was always, like, loosely a hockey fan. It was, like, my number three favorite sport. Speaker 6
But since, you know, becoming a Letterkenny superfan and and, you know, and, you know, I've I've been watching more and more hockey lately and, our team here, we've got the University of Maine Black Bears, which, used to be a powerhouse. But once then, c, double a realized they could make money off of hockey, all the other, you know, universities started putting stuff into their program. So Maine didn't get as much, but, you know, this past year, we had some really good success. Didn't quite make it as far as we wanted to, but, it's just renewed my my my interest. So, I've been following the Bruins more closely this year. And, yeah, last night, the Bruins snuck one over there on the Maple Leafs, but it was a good game. And Speaker 6
as much as, you guys hate Brad Marchand. Speaker 5
Great game, Jeff. Great game. Speaker 6
Yeah. Yeah. No. Other than that, I mean, you know, sticking with the sports theme tonight, it's a big night for the NFL, and I'm a big football fan, Green Bay Packers guy. And, in the background, if you see me, like, stare off for a minute, they have the NFL draft going on. So Oh, Speaker 0
I'm like, doesn't that didn't that happen in the fall? I guess there's something happening. Speaker 0
No. Football happens in the fall. Mhmm. Speaker 6
Well, the draft in the spring because there's no football. Speaker 6
I'm not a big draft believer guy, like, in Speaker 0
I've seen that movie, Draft Day. Kevin Costner, great flick, sports movie. Speaker 6
Movie. Kevin Costner. I mean, I love Costner too. Speaker 5
Costner does does the shit out of, sports movies. Every sports movie is in, I've I've I've really Tin Speaker 0
Cup is a top five. Speaker 5
Tin Cup. For love of the game even, like, it's a it's an underrated gem, people Speaker 7
Leave their own. I I just wanted to throw one out there. Speaker 5
there, but not not Kevin Kupp. Speaker 0
The old dreams would have been acceptable Speaker 6
Field of Dreams. Bull Durham is one of my absolute favorites of all time. Mhmm. One of the most quotable movies of all time. So, but no, I get interested. Tanya, you mentioned you mentioned, Toastmasters and, like, I wish we had something like that around here because it's Speaker 5
like a little bit They're everywhere. Speaker 6
I I've never heard it or or advertised over Speaker 0
you again? You're we're in Maine, are you? Speaker 6
I'm in Bangor, so I'm Speaker 5
I would I would put money on there being at least one chapter, Toastmasters chapter in Bangor. I would be Speaker 0
Bangor Toastmasters Club, eight ninety seven. Speaker 5
There you go. Alright. Yeah. Speaker 0
Just Google Toastmasters, man. Their their clubs are literally worldwide. Yeah. Alright. Speaker 6
I mean, so I I honestly haven't even heard of it until you guys had mentioned it, like, years ago. Speaker 5
And it's free to attend. You can just show up at at a meeting and Speaker 7
Not, like, free for the first three three shots. And then after that, you you need to Speaker 1
Mhmm. Yeah. Pay. Speaker 0
It's not expensive. Speaker 7
Yeah. Even if you want expensive. So here's a fun thing that I learned about Toastmasters. So went last night, and we were there, and they do the like, there's this whole, like, protocol on on how the night is set up, and it's very structured. And, so, the the chairman, he's talking, he's doing his thing, and then he said, I'd like to make a toast. And everybody stands, and they all have their water bottles. And I I don't have a water bottle with me. So it was like an empty hand. And I was like, okay. Well, I'm just gonna do this. And and so then at the end of the night, it was referenced back to, we need to make sure that for our guests, we have water bottles. And there there was apparently a a closet that was supposed to have a case of water. They checked. It's not there, so they're gonna make sure that it's there for next time. Because during the toast, you need to have you need to have something to toast with. And I'm like, oh my god. Toastmasters. Like, why didn't I Oh, Speaker 1
what? It took me a hot second. Speaker 7
And I was like because I was like, oh, we're just, like, you know, cheersing something. I don't think she's having such a brain hema I was, like, having a real hot moment on that one. Speaker 7
And I was like, oh, dear lord. That is I'm like, I just got I I got into the car. I'm really embarrassed now. I got into the car. I'm I'm owning up I'm owning up to it, people. I got into the car and it was like that that light bulb moment of, oh. Speaker 7
Toastmaster. Yeah. I, yeah, I was like, oh, now I should take water with me. Speaker 7
Okay. Listen. I still I'm I swear to god, this whole foggy brain thing, I'm all I'm blaming it all on the COVID. I still don't have my smell back, so I've gotta have this foggy brain thing because it's not that was there was no click before that. Speaker 6
We'll we'll we'll allow it. Speaker 7
We'll we'll safe place. Speaker 0
Other than that, the only Speaker 6
other things I've got going on, I've been watching Shogun. If you guys haven't watched that yet, I know we've talked about it. Mhmm. Speaker 6
been brought up in our Discord a little bit. Yeah. Speaker 5
I haven't seen it yet. Speaker 6
I started oh, it's so good. It's so good. The the only thing that's that I can say negative about is I'm the type of person who likes to put on a a show, and I'll be watching it, but I'll be, you know, I can doodle on my Speaker 6
something like that. Mhmm. You can't do that with this show, mostly because seventy percent of it is in Japanese, and you have to watch the subtitles Right. Or you're gonna you're gonna totally get lost on Speaker 5
what's going on. You've lost Matt then, and and Victor probably won't. Speaker 0
I I love those. I'm just such a slow reader. I often have to pause to keep up, but that's how slow of a reader I am. Or I lose focus and lose I I just I want to. Mhmm. I just I can't do it. Speaker 6
I usually hate subtitles myself, but this I mean, the story for it is so good, and it's it's so well shot. It's it's definitely worth checking out. So, but, yeah, I think the only other thing, you know, got going on is, just telling telling annoying everybody with our countdown to our, leaving for Canada. We're forty days away from, you know, heading for Sudbury again and can't wait. Can't wait. And then we'll see you guys, you know, later that week. So Speaker 9
Hell, yeah. Fuck. Yeah. Speaker 5
Can't wait. Awesome, man. Alright. Let's get this thing going here. Speaker 1
Previously on Letterkenny. Speaker 5
Last week, we put a bow on Letterkenny Presents stand up comedy tour with a bunch of our listeners who attended the shows, and it sounded like an overall, that the or overall, the tour was a big success. This week, we're going to have a bit of fun reacting to some behind the scenes Letterkenny videos. Those watching on livestream will be able to watch along, but those listening on the pod, I'll post links to all the videos we watch in the show notes. So let's get this thing going. Speaker 1
Well, don't bore us. Get to the chorus. Speaker 5
Before we do begin, though, I do have one voice mess message. You can say it's a call in from our buddy, Colin, a call in from Colin. And, he he has something to say about last week's episode. Here we go. Speaker 10
Hey, produce Stan. I'm so bummed that I missed last week's podcast. Thought I'd skip my two cents on the letter Kenny presents tour. First off, Olivia and Ali, both good up and comers. Some of their stuff didn't hit with me, but I'm excited to see what's next from them. Mark Ford, brilliant comedian. His whole set had me in stitches. I was crying at Xavier mccut McCutchen's, like, just hilarious. But my love and number one spot has to go to Jeff McHenry. Like, his self deprecation humor just lands so good with me, and I I I love all of his jokes. I feel like he gets left behind a little bit in Mark Ford's shadow, and I think he needs a little more time in his set, but that's where my number one has to go to. It has to go to Jeff. But overall, a great show, and I loved it all. Speaker 5
Alright. That was our buddy, Colin. He's he's one of the newer members of the Discord. He's from Waterloo, and, you know, he's he's get getting into that epoxy table making, hobby or or craft or whatever, which is really cool. Like, some of his, he's he's shared with us some pictures of his creations, and they look really, really cool. Yeah. So thank you, Colin. And just to remind anybody else, if you wanna have your voice message played on our podcast, you can just follow us on, at produce stand on, Instagram and DM us, a voice message, and we will play it. As long as it's not hateful and and inappropriate, we will play it. So thank you, Colin, for that message. Now before we begin the behind the scenes Letterkenny stuff, I alluded to this earlier. But last week on this podcast in the news section, I made the prediction that we're gonna get news of Shorzi season three soon because of all the the recent social media activity going on. And sure enough, on Tuesday, they dropped what looks like the scene from one of the episodes. So, we're gonna take a look at this. I mean, most of you've probably already seen it, but we're gonna watch it here again. The trailer for because I'm sure Tanya hasn't seen it yet. Speaker 5
Yeah. So let's, I'm gonna bring this up, share the screen here, and we're going to just sit here and watch it. Here we go. Ninety eight. These uniforms. Speaker 1
Ninety eight? What? Get the darn number off your back, you fucking hot dog. Thank you. Oh my god. One away from Wayne Gretzky. Oh my god. One away from the Speaker 8
great Pacemacelle. Speaker 1
Wow. You're sixty nine, you fucking loser. You must be pretty fucking good. I'm gonna put your fucking good. Ninety eight. And on that point, ninety eight scoring a fucking double, Hattie. You're fucking brutal. This guy's gonna score seven. That's it, kids. Take a fucking loser. Star. Uh-oh. Who's ninety eight boys? That's got sixty one records. How about a little pee pee love for ninety eight, Paul? She's a shooter. Backhand, soft, stowler, roof daddy. Hey. Ninety eight, what's good? Ninety eight wants a shorty. They pass it to ninety eight. Boys, he's a superstar. Quick minutes ninety eight. Big shutdown minutes. Speaker 7
I missed what happened. Go back. What? What happened? Speaker 5
Oh. I missed. Watch number ninety two. Speaker 1
Houseboat for this rookie card. Speaker 0
K. Really quick thought. Speaker 0
Camilla, who did she say she was related to? Hockey player. Was it the card? Speaker 5
No. No. No. No. No. Oh, man. I'm I'm drawing a blank right here. No. It's a Maple Leaf player. Speaker 0
They're mixing it up. Speaker 5
Tavares. Jonathan Tavares. Speaker 0
You're right. Yeah. Yeah. I thought ninety eight was a reference because I did quite quickly say who was ninety eight, and Connor Bedard is ninety eight. So I thought there was a reference to that, and I fell flat. Speaker 5
No. But I do have a question because ninety two, the guy who gets high sticked, I he's not familiar to me. So he might be a new character. He's also a big guy, from from what I saw, like, in comparison to the other players on the ice. So I'm wondering if he's a new character on the new season of Shorzy. And there is an illusion to well, ninety when when he's tripping ninety eight, ninety eight trips back at Shorzy and says, why don't you give time for the the young ones to play or whatever? So you know how the last season, it kinda ended with Shorzy saying he's getting too old for this kind of stuff. So feels like that that storyline is gonna continue through season three. Speaker 5
That's kinda the only thing I could glean from what we saw there. It was just nice to see the inside of Sudbury Arena. That's kinda cool because, you know, we we went up those same steps and and, just yeah. And, actually, some of the faces of the extras looked very familiar too. So I'm wondering, like, you know, if there's a lot of people returning for for that. But, anyway, it was it was cool to see. Tanya, what did you think of that? That's your first time seeing that. Speaker 7
Yeah. It is. It was very nostalgic, as you were saying, like, looking at the steps and going in and all the people and the crowds. And you feel like you are almost a participant of the of the, trailer because that's, like, welcoming you in and getting your seat and getting your concessions and, being greeted. Right? And, like, the the ticket snapper and stuff. Like, it just feels like you're coming to one of the games with them. Mhmm. I didn't, though, I didn't know whether we were watching more than one clip because it seemed like, we saw the clip. It it faded into the, the title. Speaker 5
It looks like it's a, a cold open for one of the the the episodes. And they usually do this. So Oh, Speaker 5
usually, put out a cold open. Like, even with Letterkenny, they would do this. They would do a cold open, and then a week later, they'll do, like, an actual, teaser trailer. So I expect that in a week or so well, now that we know the dates, that that it's gonna drop May twenty fourth. Maybe in a in a couple of weeks, we'll probably get an actual trailer where we'll see more scenes from the whole season. But that there looked like it was a full, like, from beginning to end cold open for Speaker 7
Yeah. Just when they they put the Shorzy in Mhmm. Speaker 7
middle of it and then continued on with the chirping. I didn't know if it was if you were just running a couple of trailers back to back or if that was one trailer. And thank you for re setting it back because there was it was so layered. Yeah. And it was the back layer that the incident happens where he gets high stick, and I didn't see even where the stick was what like, I didn't know if it clocked it. Like, if he got, That Speaker 5
was well done because that looked like, he he got actually hit with with a stick. So, good little bit of stunt work there by whoever that actor is. And, yeah, I'm again, I'm wondering he doesn't look familiar. So I'm wondering if he's gonna be a new character on the show or if he was just a stunt guy that they brought in for that. Speaker 7
And they're and they're up against a new team. Speaker 5
So, they're the color. You know what? I should probably bring up the, I'm so Speaker 0
what they didn't say the team name in there, Speaker 6
No. That's what I was gonna mention. Speaker 5
Well, I'm gonna I'm gonna guess that that's the Vaughn team. So somebody, there's That's what Speaker 5
There's a list of teams that they play because so season three, I saw the I read the the synopsis somewhere. They're they're now playing in the national senior championship. So they're playing different teams in Speaker 0
Vaughn makes sense. Speaker 5
In Ontario, I guess, or is it in all in all of Canada? And one of the cities is Vaughan. And just by those jerseys, it makes sense because there's a lot of Italians in Vaughan. Speaker 0
So to the blueberry crew, Vaughan is where we all had dinner Yeah. At that teppanyaki place Yeah. When you guys came up here. Speaker 7
As soon as I saw those colors, I wanted pizza. Is that wrong? Speaker 7
is that just like Yeah. What is that what I'm supposed to be? Speaker 5
I I said, well, way to go with the pizza nova style, the jerseys. They're so perfect, like, the Canadian the maple leaf, but with the three colors from the Italian flag. I loved it. Yeah. And I'm pretty sure that's the Vaughn team. So, or I'm guessing it's the Vaughn team, or Sabaro. Yeah. Anyway, Jeff, what did you think of that when you saw it? Speaker 6
Oh, no. That looked really, really great. That was the first thing I noticed is, hey. That's a new hockey team, and, I was I I, like, tried to go down a rabbit hole. I'm like, is is there, like, an Italian, Canadian hockey league? And I'm like, there sure enough is Italian Canadian, like Oh, Speaker 6
Hockey hockey league. I was like, oh, okay. Interesting. But, no, it was great. And I mean, you get Shorzy doing what Shorzy does. My brother texted me, like, my brother and I don't really text all that much, you know, just whenever we, you know, need to ask about my mom or something like that. And literally, and letter Kenny stuff. And, right when the trailer drops, my brother texts me, ninety eight gonna score a double hatty. And I'm like, I know exactly what we were he was talking about. So Yeah. Yeah. No. It looks great. Can't wait. It was cool seeing, like, the inside of the Uranix. I haven't seen that yet. Hopefully, knock on wood. Maybe the door will be unlocked when we go this time around. But, I like it it it just looked like they might have just shot at a Sudbury Wolves game and just, like, people coming in and out, but, you know, people you know, folks were wearing, you know, the Shorzi gear. So, and then they're pouring, you know, letter, they're pouring, puppers out of cans. It's great. I can't wait. Can't wait. Speaker 5
Yeah. The Jay says the team name is Canadesses, which is is Italian for Canadians. So that makes sense. So I I believe that's probably the Vaughan team because the other, cities, aren't known for the Italian population as much as Vaughan, Ontario is. Yeah. Speaker 0
They could've got away with Woodbridge as well. Speaker 5
Yeah. Yeah. So there you go. Alright. So we're here's let's get to what we're here for. I've got a so we're the last time we did a reacts episode, we saw behind the scenes from seasons one and and two. There's, like, very little from seasons three and four. Actually, there's almost nothing in terms of behind the scenes or bloopers. But, what what am I Speaker 7
Matt didn't say what he thought about the trailer. Yeah. He did. Did he? Speaker 0
Did you Not specifically. I just sort of chimed in whenever I wanted. Alright. Speaker 5
Did you have anything else? Speaker 7
Make sure that you're not No. Speaker 1
No. I'm good. Alright. Speaker 0
Thank you, Tay. I appreciate you looking out, though. I'm good. Speaker 5
I'm gonna I I did find some some, stuff from, season three that we're we're gonna look at. Let me mute the ads here. Not necessarily behind the scenes, but I know that we we brag a lot about, you know, having Jared on for an interview on our podcast and stuff like that. But he did do some interviews early on. And, so I'm gonna share, one here that he did early on, promoting season three. So I'm gonna share my screen here. Share sound. And this is from a show called CTV Your Morning, which is a Canadian network up here, and this is kind of their morning show. And, you'll see Jared or you'll see yeah. Jared and Nathan Dales in this clip. Speaker 11
Welcome back. Who would have thought a bunch of guys from small town Ontario would be such a hit? Speaker 1
I am looking for love. Boy, howdy. Like, I've been going on dates. We'll be going on other dates. Speaker 4
We'll get after it. Speaker 1
Like, if there was a general theme, like, for the next six weeks, would be Wayne's looking for love? Speaker 11
That's exactly what happened with series sensation, Letter Kenny. The kitschy comedy still holds the record for biggest debut of any series since Crave TV started streaming two years ago, and Crave users watch Letterkenny more than any other series or title. Here to talk success and small town humor is Letterkenny creator and actor Jared Keeso and actor Nathan Dales. Thank you so much for being here, you two. Speaker 1
Thanks for having us. Speaker 11
a really fun show. I joked last time we were talking about Letterkenny that it's really hard to find clips because, full warning, it is not suitable for work. Speaker 1
It's a bit of a minefield. Yeah. Speaker 11
of a minefield. So it must be fun for you guys. Speaker 1
Oh, yeah. Yeah. We have a blast. We'd, I think it I speak for all of us, and I say we do the show for the rest of our lives if we could. Yeah. We love every second. Speaker 12
Lilar. It's apparent Speaker 11
how much you love it. Jared, take us back right to the beginning. Where did the idea for Letterkenny come from? Speaker 1
Well, it started as an anonymous Twitter account that, my best pal Jordan Behrens and I started, called Listy Problems, and it dealt with problems facing people in our hometown, Listowall, Ontario. And from there, I I took it to Dalsey, and I said, you know, I think that we could rebrand this and shoot it and and have some luck. And we did. We did five episodes, two minute episodes that we threw on YouTube, and and then, we got to we got to come here to the Bell building and pitch. Speaker 11
So what was that reaction like, online? Because it can be can be swift. It can be kind. It can be cruel. What did you guys see right away? Speaker 4
The reaction was a very positive sort of right away. I mean, there was not a lot of, negative comments or negative, you know, anything towards it. It was, people were really enjoying it. Like the fast paced humor Speaker 4
And, you know, like the jokes and had a giggle and had to rewatch, you know, a hundred times type of deal. And, so that was that was super positive right from the get go. Speaker 11
Oh, that must have been a good feeling because then you know you know right away you had something good. Speaker 1
Yeah. You know, it it it was a concept that we rolled the dice on, because, things that Dalzie and I had thrown up on YouTube in the past, like, were targeted to to kind of a a niche audience that that we knew would be there. Letterkenny problems, it was was just a real roll of the dice and and that that, you know, we're pretty fortunate that that's the one that stuck for us. Speaker 11
Jared, you are from small town Ontario. Speaker 11
What has been the response from your hometown? There's, what, nine thousand people? Speaker 1
I I I think that the sign says fifty three hundred in the stool. Yep. And, I like to say that that the biggest Letterkenny fans on planet Earth are are in list dueling. My mom's just maybe got one backhanded comment at Speaker 0
the bank, but that's it. Speaker 11
That's amazing. Speaker 1
Something like, you know it's about us. Right? Speaker 11
Oh, that's good. Nathan, you played Jared's sidekick on the show. Let's watch a little bit between the two of you. Speaker 1
Talk to Haymaker. Instantly. Perk the idiot. Juke the jerk out, jab the joker out, jam the juice head. Speaker 1
King Kong threw a karate kick that kinda caught you in the kisser. Loser. But that legend lady luck was lingering left you with only a lovely little lump on your lip. Speaker 1
But maybe mention you may use MMA, mister Muay Thai. Think and poop. Knees are unnecessary. Okay. Onwards. Please. I don't I don't think I caught any of that. K. Tell me honestly. Are you guys reading a Speaker 2
teleprompter for that? Speaker 1
Well, me, I I had the lines down here, and then I all I had to do is, like, read it and then look up and deliver it. So that's that's the secret there. Speaker 11
And just continue with the squint too. Hey. You got a signature. Speaker 1
It's squint. I will. Sunny. Speaker 4
Yeah. There's, mine's fortunately a little bit easier than his part on that. I've just got, basically, the one line for those. So those were pretty easy to, to remember. Speaker 1
And you had it memorized when you came to set. I couldn't believe it. Yeah. Yeah. What's this guy doing actual work for? It's, it's great doing Speaker 4
some charity. We have these, like, huge pieces of dialogue, and he's just going off and rallying, rallying, rallying, and then we'll go and do my takes. And it's it's just like one word? One word? Well, it's just, like, makes makes my job pretty pretty easy. Speaker 12
You guys have great rapport, though. Speaker 11
You're the straight man, and you've got the one liners that just get everyone going. Speaker 0
It's pretty awesome. Speaker 1
It's, yeah, it's a a cool thing that we've got going there with, with with the four Hicks and two others played by, Kate Trevor Wilson and Michelle Mylett. Everyone's, kind kinda got their own unique identity. You play off each other pretty well. Speaker 11
So people can catch season one and season two already, but you guys are now filming season three or getting underway. So what can we look forward to? Speaker 1
lot of the same except in the snow, I think is the the simplest way to put it. But, yeah, we're we're all looking forward to it. Dilsey and I have, have have invested in, you know, Everest worthy winter jackets that we're looking forward to putting to the test in the Northern Ontario winter. Speaker 12
Oh, and it's frigid. Speaker 11
This morning, it's a wind chill into the minus forty. So Speaker 1
yeah. Yeah. It's not gonna it's not gonna be super pleasant, but these Speaker 4
jackets are really gonna take some of the sting out of they're they're the kind that are, big enough so you're knocking over lampshades and stuff like that when you're, you know, walking into anywhere. Making a statement with that jacket. It's puffy enough. Speaker 11
True Canadian winter jackets. I'm sure. You guys, thank you so much for Speaker 1
being Thanks for having me. Explanation. Speaker 11
Yeah. Congratulations on Speaker 11
So you at home can catch, Letterkenny on Speaker 5
Alright. They look so young there. Speaker 5
Dana, what'd you think of that? Speaker 7
Oh, I just had a big smile watching the whole thing. Oh, it's just so great to to see, where they started and where they they came from. Right? And, and what to to now see them at the end where they didn't think that they'd even be, but here we are this, many years later, and so much has changed. You know, they referenced that they would never wanna ever stop doing it, and, here we are. They they stopped doing it. But they morphed into something new. Right? So, and who's knows what is going to to come is yet to come. Yeah. So, so really exciting. Speaker 5
Yeah. So that was from twenty seventeen. That's, seven years ago. And, they were, yeah, they were promoting season three. And, and if you recall, season three is in the winter. It's the first one they do in the winter. So, yeah. What did you think of that, Matt? Speaker 0
Yeah. It's, it's funny to watch that. See, either they look a lot younger. Seeing Kiso there, especially, I'm not surprised even today, he's very media shy. You can see he is doing it, and he's doing it very well, but he he's not looking up. He's not making a lot. He's not looking comfortable sitting in that chair. Like, someone told him, you gotta do this. We gotta promote it. Be there. Be you. And he's unapologetically hammered. I love it. Like, he keeps referring to to to Nathan as Dale z and this and that. Like, I I love those kinda little moments, but Speaker 0
you're getting his authenticity, but you can tell it's not the place he wants to be right from day one. So I know. Speaker 5
I really think it's I really wanna get Nathan Dales on because Speaker 5
He's the other guy. Right? I mean, they they started this kinda together. I mean, Kiso gets all of the the the credit and stuff because, yeah, he wrote all the episodes. But he started it with with Nathan Dales. And, those letter those Letterkenny problems videos on YouTube are he's as much a part of it as as Keith Lewis. Speaker 0
Absolutely. Yeah. And I'd love to hear more of their the the two of them and their origin around each other. That's the first time I had heard reference to, listy problems or or whatever you said it would. Speaker 0
I didn't know that that Twitter account was a thing. I quickly looked up clear it's not existent anymore, but I I didn't realize there was a that before they started making video content. Well, in Speaker 5
his interview with us, he did say they they threw a bunch of stuff on Speaker 0
Oh, did they? Okay. That one must have flew past. Speaker 5
And tried a because I I mean, you know, they did some baseball related skits. They did some some skits where they were actual hockey players. And but it seemed like the Letterkenny well, the list of you, well, problems that turned into Letterkenny problems is the one that garnered the most attention, I guess. Jeff, what do you think of that? Speaker 6
It's so great to watch because it feels it truly feels like he's I mean, he's uncomfortable doing it, doing that interview, but he looks like a kid that's done something wrong. Like, he can't believe he's gotten away with this. Speaker 5
that yeah. He's got that kind of grin. Yeah. Speaker 0
Boom. I like that. Speaker 6
Yeah. It's so like, it's touching. Like, it gets me right here. He can't believe he's doing it. I don't I I it's he's doing something fun with his best friend, and that that's that's all I get out of that. I wanna see more from from Nathan. I would love I would love for you guys to get him on. Speaker 5
Yeah. I've been I've been trying, he since, the end of, you know, season twelve, they've all kinda gone a little dark recently. So I'm I'm I'm still working on getting I'd love to get Nathan Bales on. Yeah. I think I feel like he's a big one that we we still need to get for sure. Speaker 0
He's the only one of the main lineup we haven't talked. Speaker 5
Yeah. Him and Tio. I feel like if we can get him and and, again, Adio, then, yeah, it would be I mean, I'd love to get others, but but those two are the kind of the biggest ones we haven't had. Looks like, Jeff may have tripped his Internet cord or something because he just dropped off. So hopefully, he'll join us. It looks Speaker 0
like he sneezed and then he disappeared. Speaker 7
Was this, was this interview done, after he had done all of the, Don Cherry movies? Speaker 5
Oh, timing wise, I think yeah. And I think he did Don Cherry first. But you know what? That's a good question. Speaker 7
Because I'm just, like Matt, Speaker 5
Awesome might might answer that. Speaker 0
I know. She's gonna get she's gonna answer before I'm able to find Speaker 5
it. Yeah. What came first? Don Cherry movies or Letterkenny season three? Speaker 7
Where in Letterkenny universe did did, Yeah. Don Cherry happen? Speaker 5
Oh, Battery died. Be right back, he Speaker 7
says. Twenty oh, two thousand eight, two thousand ten. Speaker 5
Yeah. Okay. So Don Cherry was way before that. Speaker 7
Or So So it's interesting to me that he would have had that kind of, that that that expression on his face that that, Jeff was just saying. Like, it it looked like he was just Speaker 5
Kenny is his creation. Speaker 5
It's his thing. He's the boss. Speaker 7
But he's already been in the spotlight. Speaker 5
But Don Cherry, he was just an actor. He was just an actor. Speaker 7
But he was in the spotlight for that. Sure. He played the main character. The the that was the name of the the the movie. And there was three of them, were there not? Two Don Cherry movies? Speaker 5
Yeah. Two two Don Cherry movies. Yes. Speaker 7
Yeah. So it wasn't like he had a small role Mhmm. Prior to the and I know that this was his baby. Mhmm. And and to be called up and to actually have be given a show and the excitement around that. But yeah. Speaker 0
He Well, even awesome saying that he was just as shy and squirrelly during all his Don Cherry interviews as well. Oh, yeah. I think he just doesn't like being in the media spotlight. Like, he loves doing what he does, but let him just do it. Speaker 7
How do you balance that? Like, when so many people want a piece of you and and want to to to know more and to to give you yeah. Yeah. He balances it so well. Speaker 0
It it's a weird dynamic because, like, you know, media and and film and television, all that stuff, there's a huge marketing aspect to it all. Like, you need to sell what you're doing. Right? And luckily, Letterkenny, it sells itself for the most case, and people know it, love it, and it's all spread through viral sharing and all that. But a lot of content in other forms doesn't. It needs that that spark, that that those faces behind it, making those appearances and selling and say, hey. Check this out. But, Speaker 5
Well, I mean, it's no secret that the the media appearances he did were early on to promote Letterkenny. Then once Letterkenny got known Yeah. And he didn't have to do it anymore No. And he was happy to step aside and let the other actors Speaker 7
I don't seek out information or people. But I'm I'm presuming that his his information's not readily known. Like like, most most Speaker 5
Not not as much he's not as out there as as other actors for sure. Like, there's, like, leaks here and there. There's, like but, he doesn't, you don't I mean, looking for interviews with him, you're not gonna find too many. No. So, Awesome saying, legit, the media circus horse shit is why he started to do his own shit. Now he doesn't have to do it, and he's a lot happier. Yeah. So there we go. Speaker 0
Jesus. Welcome back. One fucking job, Jeff. Wow. Speaker 5
had to do was not trip over your Internet cable. You're you're muted, by the way. No. Speaker 0
You're on mute. One one job. Speaker 7
It's okay, Victor. We got you. We Speaker 6
It was literally my bad the the the battery the the the battery warning comes up. It says battery's running low, and then I go to switch it on and it just died. And I'm like, what the hell? Speaker 9
Sorry about that. Speaker 5
That's okay. We we've been vamping, because I didn't wanna start the next video before you got back on. So we've just been talking about, you know, how how shy Jared is with the media interviews and stuff like that. And, Speaker 7
we identified what came first, Letterkenny or, Don Cherry movies. Speaker 5
The Don Cherry movies came first. So here's another one, another Jared Keeso appearance, a little known appearance on media. He's on this little vignette here called Speaker 5
In media. There's this little vignette from CBC Arts that he was on. Here we let me get my screen shared. Here we go. Speaker 1
And I'm a creator. Oh. Hi. My name is Jared Keeso, and I am a creator. It's a hard life picking stones and pulling teeth, but sure as God's got sandals, it beats fighting dudes with treasure trail. Before Letterkenny Problems was started, I'd been in the business for about seven or eight years. You know, I'd I'd spent a couple pilot seasons in in Los Angeles when I was sick of living and dying by the casting calls that that that are coming by. I've been broke multiple times. And if you've ever been broke, you know that you never wanna be broke again. And it's when I put the focus on, being more selective. My career really started to take off and, of course, gave me time to work on my own, creative endeavors. Speaker 1
are you now? Not bad. And you? Speaker 1
see you back at Jamboree a few weeks after. Oh, you noticed? Letter letter Kenny hit pretty quick, actually. My best pal, from back home in Listowel, Ontario, Jordan Behrens, we started an anonymous Twitter account called Listy Problems. We took an exaggerated and embellished look at at life in the small town, the problems that that might face us there. Nathan Dales and I, rebranded it Letterkenny Problems. We threw it up on YouTube, and, when the views started coming in, by by the millions, we we we knew we we had something there. Speaker 0
Glenn, how are you now? Speaker 1
Yeah. Good. And you? Good. Speaker 1
Oh, stuff. The transition from acting to writing and and producing is a fly by the seat of your pants Speaker 1
Cut. Okay. Good, boys. Very good. You know, when when we got the deal with Bell to to do the Letterkenny TV show, it is such a roll of the dice for them. So thankful that that that they did it. We'll we'll trust this guy to to helm the TV show now. I had to ask for help. And so for that, Mark Montessori and Patrick O'Sullivan, who, got to to co produce with me, this Canadian business has given me everything that I had. Why not, why not prioritize giving back to that business? Make make your money. Give back to Canada. Work hard at your best. Speaker 5
There you go. That's, from the CBC vignette called, what's it called? Arts. CBC Arts. Matt, what did you think of that? Speaker 0
Love it. I've actually seen that one of four. I love how he talks about his passion and where he shifted. And we've talked about a number of times, and it's always comes up how he didn't like how the industry was and and the and the jump in between you know, auditions and always just waiting, and it shifted his whole thinking. So, you know, that realization, you know, he's as successful as he is now with Letterkenny and Shorazi. But when he makes that comment of I've been broke multiple times, you know he's hit bottom. And it's someone who's worked their fucking ass off to build up something they love. Not everyone's is lucky when they find a passion and push towards that passion to see the other side. Mhmm. But, obviously, we're thankful that he was able to to come out on top. So, I think it's a I think there's a really there's a couple of really strong clips in there that really show where he comes from and and and why he's so happy and proud of where he's come. That makes sense? Speaker 5
He mentions his buddy Jordan, the who did who started the list well problems with him, I guess. And, Austin, you can correct me in the livestream. Is that Boots? Is that the same guy? Because you mentioned that he started it with Boots. So I'm wondering if if it's the same actor. But, yeah, it's it's it's interesting just to see. I mean, we've heard the story over, you know, it's well it's a well told story already that he went down LA, didn't like that scene came back up here. LA? Yeah. That's Boots, she says. Okay. So of Ginger and Boots. So the the guy who plays Boots is the guy who he started, I guess, his buddy from from Listowel. Tanya, what do you think of that? Speaker 7
Again, a huge smile on my face. What a genuine person. And and that's where the genuineness, stems from. Right? Like, you you can't hit bottom and then go to the top without bringing some of that with you and and being appreciative, especially when you hit bottom a couple times. Right? It's it's like you know, you've you've been with the people that struggle, and you're now one of the successful ones that have have, made made made it. Right? Which not many people do get that opportunity, and he made it for himself. It's it's such a heartwarming story and just makes you appreciate him and the work that he's done and what he's created around him that much more. Right? For sure. Speaker 6
Just look at that glorious ginger beard of those. Can it get any more rugged? I mean, that that is a handsome gentleman right there. It's so cool to see, like, you think of him struggling in Los Angeles and, like, you know, living sleeping on a on a mattress on somebody's floor probably. Speaker 6
And now he's got, like, nice apartment in Montreal. You know? Mhmm. Good for him, man. Like, it's Yeah. Speaker 5
You want you can't help Good things do happen to good people sometimes. Right? Speaker 6
And he said I mean, they they brought it up. They mentioned, giving back to Canada and, you know, spending or giving money to Canada. And, like, he's he's he's done that with folks like me who, you know, look forward to visiting Canada as frequently as possible. I mean, this show reignited my love of Canada, and and, I I I can never wait to to to to get there. So Speaker 6
He he set out to to everything he set out to accomplish, he's accomplished. Good on him, man. He deserved it. Speaker 5
And just reading the comments below you the YouTube video that we just watched, and, obviously, YouTube comments are not a place you wanna tread through lately. But very first comment from America, thank you Canada for this show. Thank you. Am I the only and and so on and so forth. So that's why Wayne always wears long sleeves, dude's sporting some make. Anyway but in terms of, you know, the yeah. He's getting that from from not just Canadians, but from Americans and from the UK, from Australia, all over. Speaker 5
Matt, did I already Speaker 0
ask You did. I just wanna make one final comment. I mean, the like, I guess, two small ones. One, he might he looked much more comfortable in front of camera now. So this is clearly a a couple years later. Speaker 5
No. This is still from seven years ago. Yeah. Really? Speaker 0
Yeah. Oh, very different energy about that. Speaker 5
But you know what? The difference the difference is that is a pretaped that was edited, whereas the previous one was a live interview that was on, like, CT in the morning. Right? Speaker 0
Yeah. And you looked much more comfortable, much more natural. And it was less of an interview. It's one of those, like, off camera interviews where, like, they ask a question, then you just let them rant. Mhmm. Anyways, love that. The other one that we're talking about the friendships of, and I think I've made this comparison before, but he reminds me of sort of like the Canadian Adam Sandler where Yep. He's like, let me do the stuff I love with my friends. Like and Adam Sandler's absolute definition of that. That guy carries his buddies through all of his films and his career because he just wants to hang out with his friends. Mhmm. And the passion comes through and the comedy pays off. Speaker 6
Jay has delight. That comparison. That's perfect. Him and Sandler because Sandler sets are notoriously, like, easy to go to. Everybody gets along. It's it's a perfect comparison that he is the Canadian Adam Sandler. Speaker 5
Yeah. Funnier, I think. But, anyway, Jay has a line of the night so far in the livestream. He says, I love, love, love that he put his buddies in the show and made them ostrich fuckers. That's a that's a level of shithousery I can get behind you. Speaker 0
It's coming from the Berta guy. Speaker 5
Yes. Well well well put. Well done. Alright. I'm gonna queue up this next one here. This is also from immediate, appearance for, before season three. But instead of, Jared Jared here, we have, who do we have? We have Kate Trevor, Nathan Dales, and Michelle Mylett. So let's, oh, I guess I gotta share my screen. Gotta do that every time. Here Speaker 5
This is also from CTV. Speaker 12
Skids, hockey players, and winter jackets. These all play a big part in the hit TV series Letterkenny, which is returning for its third season on Crave TV on the most fitting day, Canada Day. Speaker 15
Well, not raw rookie and a rosemary rubbed roast with radish wrapped in rich rare bacon after removing Rudolph's red nose. Speaker 1
So are sound. Sled's a synonym for snowmobile. Snowmobile's a synonym for sled. So sled is a snowmobile. A snowmobile is a sled. Super Speaker 12
Alright. It's a frosty start to season three, and joining us now are some members of the cast. We've got Nathan Dale, Kate Trevor Wilson, and Michelle Millet. Welcome. Speaker 12
Thanks so much, and congratulations on season three. Speaker 1
Thank you so much. Thank you very much. Speaker 12
We were talking about there's a different way of, describing small towns depending on where you're at in Canada and what the industry is. So I grew up in a small town, which was mostly either oil and gas or farming. Mhmm. You were in Calgary, which is mostly ag and oil and gas? Yeah. Speaker 1
Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Speaker 7
Or how about yourself, Trevor? Speaker 3
I'm Toronto, born and raised. Speaker 12
Oh, wow. You're an outsider then. Speaker 0
This is my town. Speaker 12
Alright. Michelle, how about you? Speaker 2
Yeah. I grew up in Ladysmith on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, and it's a harbor front town. So lumber yeah. Basically. Speaker 12
But the humor in the show, which is filmed in Sudbury, sort of transcends, and you're able to sort of grab all the little nuances of what it's like to be raised in a small town, put it into the show. There are some new faces Speaker 5
coming to the show Speaker 12
Can you tell us about them? Speaker 1
Yeah. We have, one of them is Adrian Holmes, who everybody will remember from nineteen two. It was on ninety two with Jared Giso, our creator. And then, we also have Sarah Gaddin. She plays a role in this in this portion of the season. And so I think those are two pretty good additions to, to the new season for sure. Speaker 12
What's it like bringing in new members to this cast? You guys are a pretty tight group. Speaker 3
We're we're I mean, we have a lot of fun doing the show, so it it it's not hard to to jump into the good times. We're we're not an exclusive group. We're pretty good at bringing people in and, joining them in on the fun. Speaker 12
Unlike small towns, which can be a little bit exclusive Speaker 8
sometimes. Mhmm. Speaker 2
Michelle, how about you? Yeah. We we welcome anyone who wants to come and hang out with us on set and be a part of this funny crew. Speaker 3
Jared actually keeps a very open set. He's pretty much anyone who's ever asked to come by and visit has been allowed to come by and visit. And so Speaker 5
they wanna advertise that too. Speaker 12
obviously resonating with people. You guys brought home a Canadian Screen Award for best comedy series. What do you hear about from people across the country who like the show? What do they love about it? What are some of the things they tell you? I think it's just Speaker 2
really relatable. If you're from a small town, people, they recognize themselves, they recognize their family members or people that they grew up with. And even if you're not from a small town and you have friends who are from small towns, you just kind of in Canada, it just feels Speaker 1
Oh, I got time for Speaker 2
very relatable, I think. Speaker 12
and this will be for you, Trevor, is because you're from the big smoke, because you're from the big city of Toronto Speaker 3
I'm from Hogtown. Speaker 12
Did you get the humor? Do you understand what it is about small town? Speaker 3
Well, I'm, I am from Toronto, but I I am a touring stand up comic. And for seventeen years, most of my living has been made in small town Canada, because that's most of Canada is small towns. So, like, Squirrely Dan is based on a a guy I've met in every small town. Speaker 5
He's everywhere. Speaker 7
Alright. As he said as the show, Speaker 12
season three comes back on Canada Day, we have a quiz for you. It's a best test. You guys ready? Speaker 12
Alright. I wanna know what's the best place in Canada to go for poutine? Speaker 2
Lemaine in, Montreal is my favorite place. Alright. Speaker 3
I prefer La Belle Provence, but I I'm a greasy spoon kinda guy. Speaker 1
I don't eat poutine. Speaker 12
Okay. Next question. Speaker 12
romantic spot in Canada? Oh. Oh, you're all stumped. Speaker 1
Honeymoon Canyon. I know. Really? Speaker 2
I see Vancouver Island. Anywhere on Vancouver. I know I'm from there, but it's so beautiful. Speaker 1
I'd say where the Rocky Mountains hit the prairies. Boom. Right there. I like that. Speaker 11
off the highway three? Speaker 12
Right there. What is the best thing to do on a Speaker 2
Friday night in Canada? Get a drink with your friends? Speaker 3
Grab grab a couple puppers beers and, watch Letterkenny. Speaker 12
Good answer. Best place to road trip? Oh, so In Canada? In Canada. Speaker 1
say out west. Yeah. I say definitely. I mean, and Speaker 4
I'm partial to it because I'm Speaker 1
from the prairies, but right where you go from the prairies right into the mountains and into BC, that's just it's gorgeous in there. Yeah. Speaker 0
The same answer for cultural romance. Andrew. Speaker 3
Yeah. Drive out east. Speaker 5
I think he's, I think he's biased. It's an underrated province. Speaker 12
What's up? They just won so Saint Andrews just won, like, CNN's one of their Speaker 3
best Andrews on the sea. Speaker 12
Alright. And finally, I wanna give you guys all the last word. What is the best thing about being Canadian? Speaker 2
The people. I just spent a lot of time elsewhere this last six weeks, just traveling and stuff. And it's always nice to come home, and the people here are just really welcoming. So, yeah, I'd say the people. Speaker 3
Yeah. Oh, you know, the inclusiveness of it. You know? We're we're a pretty polite place to be. Speaker 1
Yeah. The people the people and the scenery, for sure. Speaker 4
Mhmm. Best in the world. Speaker 12
All good answers. And congratulations to all of you on season three. Speaker 1
Thank you very much. Speaker 12
We'll be watching. Of course, that premieres once again on July first, Canada Day on Crave TV. Speaker 1
Stop sending unbranded emails. Speaker 0
Stop. Anyway, there Speaker 5
was a Saint Andrews shout out there, Jeff. What what about Saint Andrews makes it such a pretty place? Speaker 6
It's first off for me, like, I've visited Saint Andrews several times when I was a a younger degen, being able to drink at nineteen in New Brunswick. Saint Andrews was only about thirty minutes across the border. And they've got a beautiful, gorgeous, one of the best hotels I've ever seen in my life. I think it's the Algonquin. Just find a picture of it, look it up. It is absolutely gorgeous. And I actually got to see K Trev perform there. Oh, wow. Perform in, in Saint Andrews, is that Kingsbury Gardens at the Keira Amphitheatre at the first annual, Saint Andrew's Comedy Festival last year. Speaker 6
And I, I just I remember it was a spur of the moment thing. Nobody knew I was going. And when I got over there, I was, like, kinda tormenting the the discord group a little bit with just pictures. Hey, look at this. Guess who? And then, boom, it was it was, K Trev. But if if you guys ever get the chance to go, there's not much else around there. St. Andrews is a gorgeous artist community, and it's, no sidewalks. The entire town, no sidewalks. Really weird. But, it's in this little town on this the end of this peninsula that just juts out into the Atlantic. Right. It's gorgeous. It it's it's absolutely amazing. Kaitrev, during his set, had mentioned, when they offered him to come and do the the festival, he told his wife about it and his wife said, you are absolutely going to do this. And it's fun to see that he mentioned Saint Andrews and his love of Saint Andrews way back there in season three because, I mean, like I said, I just saw him last year. So, obviously, he's got he's got a connection to the town too. Speaker 5
Mhmm. Yeah. Matt, what'd you think of that? Speaker 0
So on the New Brunswick note, I I have not been west, sadly, yet. It's still a bucket list for sure, but I can attest that New Brunswick is absolutely gorgeous. And I'd forgotten that. Like, I've been out east many times, and few years ago, we drove out there and we had to drive through New Brunswick again. And as I was driving through, I'm like, man, I forgot what a beautiful province this really is. So those comments around the love affair that I get it, totally makes sense. The other day maybe I thought that was a weird interview. They were all fine, but the questions being thrown at them towards the end Speaker 0
Were were kind of odd to me. And then I had a weird trigger moment when, they asked, you know, what was the, what's so great about being Canadian or or whatever that last question was. It it it suddenly remind me not that there was an answer to this, but it reminded me of the Jeff Daniels speech he made in the show newsroom when someone asked him why America's the greatest country in the world. Yeah. And I was, like, waiting for one of them to go off and be like, well, it's Speaker 5
Well, it isn't. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 0
Right? I don't know. That's where my head went. Speaker 5
Not that kind of interview, but now I get what you're saying. It was kind of a nauseous things like, oh, really? Are we gonna have to I'm sure they have to answer those questions all the time. Jeff, really quick question. As a teenager crossing the border so you can drink underage, did you still need a passport? Speaker 6
No. Because this was prior to nine eleven. I'm old. So Yeah. Yeah. Passport's new. Need a passport until after, about a yeah. Maybe nine months after nine eleven, I think it was. Mhmm. So but no. Speaker 0
long was the drive to Saint Andrew? Like, because it's it's I see it on the map here. It's a peninsula, but you had to drive around to get to it. Or was there a ferry that's, like Speaker 6
Well, no. I grew up, if you if you look on the map, I grew up in the Kalas area. Stephen is right there, and you just cross over in Kalis, St. Stephen and drive to St. Andrews. Speaker 0
But how are you crossing over? Is there a bridge or a Oh, yeah. Speaker 6
There's there's three bridges in Calais. Three border crossings. Speaker 0
That's that's what I'm getting at. Okay. Speaker 6
What for you guys, because you guys are all Canadians. I'm the I'm I'm the American here. What would you guys say is the most romantic spot in Canada? Speaker 5
Peggy's Cove is nice. Speaker 7
Oh, it's beautiful. Speaker 5
Yeah. Peggy's Cove is pretty nice. But now that I've been to more places, like, I guess, the the nicest places that I've been to with Tanya, romantic wise, and we didn't spend a lot of time there, but Quebec City seemed like a really nice place, Montreal. Speaker 5
Parts of Newfoundland are are are romantic in their own way. But, yeah, I've now been to Banff and and put in Canmore and stuff like that. Speaker 5
Where where where Nathan Dale set up a few times where the prairies meet the mountains, it's pretty spectacular. Speaker 6
It's Banff looks absolutely beautiful. Good buddy, Marcus, loves. He and his wife go to, Quebec City Speaker 6
Every Christmas. They said it's it's absolutely gorgeous. Yeah. I just, the show that that you guys turned me on to, Still Standing. Mhmm. I saw, is it Speaker 0
Pelly Island? Mhmm. Pelly Island. Speaker 6
Yeah. That looks absolutely gorgeous to me. I'd like to visit that sometime, but, it looked pretty pretty romantic to me. I don't know. Speaker 0
Yeah. I think it it depends on what your definition of romance or what kinda is interesting. Some people would look at nature and be like, okay. It looks nice, but there's nothing romantic about this. Right? Whereas a lot of us like, I I the reason I say Peggy's Cove is I've been there at an amazing sunset Speaker 0
And it's quiet, and everything about it was just like, I could die right here in this moment, and it was amazing. But then, again, I could see why. The mountains I haven't seen them yet, Speaker 5
so I don't know. I had a a feeling like that at at, Petty Harbour in in Newfoundland. Speaker 5
was beautiful. But it was like you were standing in a postcard, but it was quiet and serene, and there was no so yeah. But that's a different kind of romance, I guess, than you know what I mean? Speaker 0
But by contrast, someone could be downtown Toronto looking up at the city lights and going, this is it. Yeah. Right? Speaker 7
Yeah. And and I have some amazing pictures of of Toronto at night and and the beautif like, it's beautiful. And on being on the island and looking at the the city line Skyline. My god. Gorgeous. Speaker 0
Have have you ever gone and sat on that big ass canoe downtown Toronto at nighttime? There's a big ass canoe just not too far from the dome and stuff. It's in a park there, but it's, at night, it's lit up, and it's got a great view of the whole skyline right from right from the Tavis. I would call that a pretty romantic spot. Yeah. Big canoe. Speaker 6
The roof I think everybody everybody kind of reviled when, he said, Niagara Falls because even I I've never been to Niagara Falls. And even then, I'm like Speaker 6
Yeah. That's like the Las Vegas of of Speaker 5
New York. But I met my parents Speaker 0
So much trashier version. Speaker 7
My parents had their honeymoon there. Speaker 5
So did mine. I mean, it is the honeymoon capital the capital of of Canada, I guess. But Speaker 0
Listen. I love Niagara Falls, but I realize what it is. Speaker 5
Yeah. Yeah. It's a tourist trap. Speaker 0
Was not one of them. Speaker 7
Well, I think we went to Niagara Falls for our one year anniversary. That was that was our our Speaker 5
one year to Vegas. We went to Vegas. Speaker 7
No. That was two before we bought the house. Because we're like, if we're gonna do Vegas, we do it before we buy the house. Speaker 5
So we don't lose the house. Speaker 0
So before you get a bigger house, you can't always lose. Speaker 5
Lose what you don't have. Speaker 7
That was the theory. Speaker 7
actually we were so adult. Speaker 5
I'm actually headed to Niagara Falls on Monday for an interview for Yes. We were open. Speaker 6
Oh, good good luck. Speaker 14
What did you what did you think of the You Speaker 0
need an assistant, by the way? Like, tell your boss you an assistant, and Speaker 0
start coming with you. No. You don't work for the same company. Speaker 5
Well, Matt, you wanna you wanna be romantic with me by the fall? I'm in, but Speaker 0
well, you already agreed it's not the romantic place, so we're on the same page there. Speaker 6
I think Cassie in the livestream is trying to get that the, comedy bar in Toronto is a romantic place. Yeah. Speaker 5
It is for her. Yes. There's a little place in Toronto. Yes. There is. Speaker 7
I would I would have to argue that, going up in Algonquin Park area in the fall is just gorgeous. Yeah. Really, really the trees are just breathtaking. Speaker 0
There's lots of trees. Whole separate romance episode. Speaker 7
Sudbury. Sudbury Sudbury is is the romantic place. Love Oh, yeah. Speaker 5
To some people, maybe. Speaker 7
There you go. There you go. Speaker 5
Oh, the entire province of PEI? You know what, Jay, in in the livestream, you're right. I loved it. It was gorgeous. It was, yeah. There's lots about PEI that I really liked. So, yeah, I guess, every place has has somewhere. Right? Yeah. Did you have anything else about that clip before me? Speaker 7
I loved it. I I, it's so nice to see, and hear. And and I know you're calling it out that it was cheesy, but you know what? It's fun. It's it's, to hear what people think and They're Speaker 5
on a Canadian show, and she's it's just I don't know. Speaker 7
But it brings the Canadian home. It puts a smile on my face. Speaker 5
They're sitting there with Tim Hortons mugs in front of me. Speaker 5
like about it is Speaker 0
just Give me some special sponsor. Speaker 0
Probably nothing in the mugs either. I Speaker 7
Yeah. Give me some Timmy's. Speaker 5
Oh, they probably have fucking Starbucks coffee in the in those ones. Anyway, alright. Let's move on to some actual bloopers because like I said, it was hard to find stuff for seasons three and four. That was all I could find. So we're gonna move on to season five, and we actually have some bloopers here that we're gonna have some fun watching from season five. And before this starts blaring the commercial at me, too late. Let me just mute that, share my screen, and get her ready. Here we go. Speaker 3
Riding our fucking sleds to a fucking pit party bot. Speaker 7
Give it her tits. Speaker 16
K. Here you go. Speaker 13
I don't spell it in a b c d Speaker 8
d d d d d d d d d Speaker 13
d d and my g and everybody talk about how can d and d. Speaker 1
All lives matter. Speaker 16
I don't know why you said it like that. So we gotta bruise up our look? Yeah. Spruce up our look. Speaker 16
So we gotta bruise up our little Speaker 1
I'm told that they don't even teach cursive in school anymore. Speaker 1
The hard right. That's who, flapjack. I'll be gone. Fuck. Speaker 7
Are they just fucking with him? Speaker 5
I think they are. Speaker 1
Yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Speaker 1
Oh, wow. Wonder what you're smiling that? What? One more around town doing that sort of spelling. Okay? I'll spell it during day of the week. Nice to just hit that one. Manny. Who Speaker 0
gets eyes closed? Speaker 7
He can't even look at him. Speaker 16
I'm just saying. Speaker 1
Back to back to back, baby. Ripped a fart, it sounded like. Fuck, Todd. Speaker 5
How does he not hyperventilate? Speaker 5
are veins popping out of the this tub. Coach, crazy, crazy coach ten. Why? Any any thoughts on that? Speaker 7
I was thinking this is gonna make for terrible podcast. Speaker 5
Yeah. Whatever. They can they can check the links. But, Speaker 0
this one's for us. Yeah. Speaker 7
The the visuals, you gotta believe us. Gosh. That was funny. Yeah. I have never seen any of those. So it really the the when, Wayne was ripping open his his, shirt Speaker 5
You would go to that. Speaker 7
Yeah. Of course, I would. That's a very standout moment. Speaker 7
But, Trevor not being able to look at him at all. Like, eyes were closed, and he was just trying everything to not make a a noise and not tell him. Speaker 0
Make it stop kinda look like that. Speaker 7
Like make it stop. Can't look at you. And, oh my god, it was so funny. Those were fantastic. Absolutely great. Speaker 6
It it's it's so much fun to see them having so much fun. Mhmm. Tanya, did you catch the d on that one? Speaker 7
There was a d in that one? Speaker 6
There was, but it wasn't that type of d. It was Stewart when he went to spell his word. Oh. He d and then the heavy wink. Speaker 7
Oh, did he? I didn't catch that. Speaker 5
That was just for you, hon. Just for you. Speaker 7
didn't catch it. I'll have to watch it again. Speaker 6
That was great. And I mean, you know, of course, I'm gonna point out coach just just about dying. I think he almost killed himself in that. And I would have liked to see the other angle and how, Speaker 5
you can kinda see, Riley's or Dylan Playfair's jaw clenching because he doesn't wanna laugh or he doesn't wanna break. But, like, he's already got that sharp jawline, and it was just getting sharper and sharper as it was going because Speaker 6
I would have loved to see that by their end because you know they were about to lose it too. So Yeah. Yeah. It it's great. And then just Wayne Yeah. What? The shirt. I don't know. I don't know. And it's fun to hear, like, I mean, because I've seen these episode, like, you know, thirty times each and hearing the lines said in a different way. Yeah, it's I I find that alone funny. So Speaker 7
It's it's so funny to hear when they are like, even hard right, Jay. Speaker 7
in the episode, you're like, you can't stand him. But in the blooper, it's like, oh my god. He's human. Like and it it really is showing you that it's an act like, it's they're acting. Of course, they're acting. But it's like the blooper of it, it's like, why did it come out like that? Speaker 5
I'd love to see bloopers of actors in their most serious role. Like, can you imagine a blooper from, like, say, Silence of the Lambs? Like, where where, Anthony Hopkins The Speaker 0
notion in the basket. Speaker 5
No. Anthony Hopkins, after he says his, you know, Chianti and Fava Bean saying, and he's doing his and then Speaker 7
And then starts laughing. Speaker 5
And then starts laughing. Right? Like that Speaker 7
It changes the whole the whole thing. Speaker 5
Yeah. It's amazing. Matt, what'd you think of that? Speaker 0
Yeah. I love me a blooper. It's kinda what you guys are talking about there. The the human the human aspect of it all. Like, I I think that would be my biggest challenge if I was ever a comedic actor was when that break happened, pulling myself back in.
Speaker 0
I mean, I have some very vivid memories of me losing it in a laughing fit, and it takes me at times, like, twenty minutes to pull myself out of it when I get going. And and because we're doing this, it feels very topical, and I'm sure everyone's seen it. But does anyone if you haven't, have you seen the SNL break that happened recently where Heidi Oh my god. Davis and Beavis and Butt Head. When Heidi Gardner sees Mikey Day as Beavis. Mhmm. Yeah. Or as a but sorry. As Butthead, oh my god. I love it. I love it so much.
Speaker 5
you I'll show it to you in the after party. Break.
Speaker 0
Yeah. And and the thing of like like, how do they do it? They're doing that live. So how they hold that straight face all the time, and I mean
Speaker 5
Well, they don't. I mean, what's his name? Fallon. Ryan, oh, the the actor. Who's the Canadian actor? Ryan Gosling. Ryan Gosling. Yeah. He can't keep a straight face to save his life.
Speaker 1
What I would expect is
Speaker 0
he's the guest. But he's the guest. I wouldn't expect him to hold it. But the the guys who do it every time like, Jimmy Fallon was always notorious for breaking, but I loved it every time he did because it was like it brought you into that moment of what they're actually trying to accomplish. So on the blooper scale, I felt that was very relevant. You haven't watched the bee was a butthead AI skit. Heidi Gardner's reaction is so genuine and and just honest in that moment because I honestly I don't think she had seen him up until that point.
Speaker 5
Apparently, she had character. I think they they set it up so that her first time seeing him like that was when she looks back at him. And so
Speaker 0
You're talking to me?
Speaker 5
Yeah. Yeah. It it's really
Speaker 7
Those are my favorite stand up comedians,
Speaker 8
though, too. The ones that chuckle
Speaker 7
at themselves underneath their comedian in them makes them themselves even laugh. Like, it's Yeah. I I love it. I love it.
Speaker 0
Like, they realize the ridiculousness of what they just said or something.
Speaker 1
Yeah. It's amazing.
Speaker 5
So I think we have time for one more here. We're gonna skip over to season six now and watch some season six bloopers. Let me just queue this up here. And,
Speaker 11
wants a new career but don't have experience.
Speaker 5
Oh my god. Yes. I know I need to get
Speaker 0
Free advertising tonight, blocker.
Speaker 5
I'm getting yelled at from, from Austin that I should have some ad blocker or something, but, it's too advanced for me, I think. Here we go.
Speaker 1
Terrence and UX design.
Speaker 1
Then there he'd be down there in beta quadrant floating around his quarters, which Bondar could see and so could Houston. I guess what he'd do is float out of frame, pull his space pants down. Sorry. I'm
Speaker 6
sorry. We'll get her.
Speaker 2
I don't exactly have the tiger by the tail, do they?
Speaker 1
Not exactly whipping things up. Not exactly whipping the excitement. Not exactly whipping things. I feel so exposed. My pee hole. My pee hole. Okay. Say the next line. Are we competing in a take down attorney? Oh, that's my line. Okay. When are we competing in a take down attorney for babes? Anita, honest to God. I was up here.
Speaker 12
Come on. Sorry.
Speaker 0
Are you still here?
Speaker 7
Did we both spend the entire take staring at us back? Give
Speaker 0
is Wood. The lead, sir.
Speaker 1
We're just exhausted.
Speaker 0
It's interchangeable dialogue, really, at the end of
Speaker 1
the day. What about El Camino Christmas?
Speaker 0
I love being big,
Speaker 2
What about El Camino Christmas?
Speaker 5
Gale never breaks.
Speaker 1
Sorry. Why don't you go ahead and search hashtag mash the gas twenty eighteen?
Speaker 4
Let's I'll take that back.
Speaker 1
the year before it the year before it was hashtag slit slam twenty
Speaker 1
You never seen a gash so tasty. You've never seen a gash
Speaker 1
Ever seen it, bro? Never seen it, bro.
Speaker 9
What's going on there?
Speaker 1
I kept doing it, and no one said anything. These two weren't just North America's finest spacemen. They're actually planet Earth's finest space people. Planet Earth's finest They were actually planet Earth's finest space people. I'm gonna fuck a
Speaker 0
fuck an island, sir.
Speaker 1
I'm gonna fuck a Somali Chinese mainlander. I'm gonna fucking Islamic
Speaker 1
That's fucking Timbits hockey. That's Saturday morning type skills camp. Hey, nice butt. Let's get some fucking bubble tea. Do the carpets match the crepes? The crepe of things.
Speaker 7
Crepe grate. Nope.
Speaker 3
I don't know about that one, miss James.
Speaker 14
Reindeer games with Charlize Theron. Dennis Farina.
Speaker 0
Ben Affleck? Yes, please. No. No.
Speaker 14
Who's there? Big old boner.
Speaker 1
Oh, he broke himself.
Speaker 7
The older god is there for the old god.
Speaker 2
I got a question.
Speaker 1
I got a question for you. I'm so sorry. The
Speaker 12
rolling preposition. The rolling. Merry Christmas, Tannis. Next.
Speaker 1
guess then what he'd do is he'd get on his comms.
Speaker 0
Allegedly, I was just telling
Speaker 1
you what the cadets told me here. And you go, you know, hey, Bondar. I think we stooped. I think we stooped. I think we've stooped. I think we I think we've stooped it out, partner. I think we've pricked your sleuths out too, partner.
Speaker 7
I've practiced so much.
Speaker 11
You don't know.
Speaker 1
Tis. Get it. John's here. Go. Aw. You first search backed up a bibbrian turf.
Speaker 5
Everyone has. Same way everyone smashed a Welsh Nigerian.
Speaker 1
Say your line again. That she never expected to be floating around some space in the She's trying to catch airborne ejaculate with plastic. And she never expected to be floating around some space in these quarters trying to catch airborne a jacket.
Speaker 7
What did he say?
Speaker 5
Anyone catch what he said?
Speaker 0
No. No. I think what
Speaker 6
what you mean, Kieso? I think you said coach, why don't we do the photo here?
Speaker 5
Oh. Oh, okay. He's just saying his next line. Gotcha.
Speaker 6
Sorry. Something Mark had said at the Letter Kenny live stand up tour was that it, That scene, him and Kiso, like, Kiso could not keep it together during the the Christmas scene there. Just not only, like, the the the song, but the knock knock who's there, boner boner of my underwear. Like, coat he broke. Mark broke up at that, but Kiso could not keep it together
Speaker 5
Oh, man. Matt, what'd you think of that?
Speaker 0
I love that they kept going back to the Bondar skit. Like, on repeat to that whole blooper reel, which means there's there's something really fun they did there, and they're like, we just need to keep showcasing this. That I
Speaker 5
think that means that that was one of the longest probably days they had to shoot because it was probably impossible to get through.
Speaker 0
And it seemed like it was Kiso driving all of that. Like, he just, like, couldn't get through his lines every time he mentioned Bondar, but, oh my god. I love Bloopers.
Speaker 6
That was one of the longer cold opens they did too. Mhmm. But it's bringing it it hearkens to the Anson Sidu's one too, but it's it's very yeah. Just none of them could get their lines out, and it looked like, I don't know how often they come to to to to set drunk, but they might have been that day.
Speaker 0
No. It's and it's fun to see them all break at different times.
Speaker 0
Like, they all had their individual moments. Theo breaking there that one time. I got I feel like that's probably rare. But,
Speaker 5
I think the rarest I wanna see I wanna see, Gail break. I feel like she's probably the hardest one on that.
Speaker 7
I think we've been told that, haven't we?
Speaker 5
Because just I don't see any signs of her ever, like, even cracking a smile. Like, she stays in character the whole time. Because even there That's perfect. There's a few, instances of of, Mark Ford breaking. So, but he's usually breaking for on himself. Yeah. Watching that that Roberta Bondar scene, I just think back to I can't believe, that Toronto Mike played the entire clip that entire clip when he had Roberta Bondar on his podcast. Like, I can't believe he did that. What
Speaker 6
did she think of it?
Speaker 5
Well, she he didn't he he put it in post. So he didn't make her sit there and listen to the whole thing, but she was aware of the scene. And she just said, yeah. I heard about that. That's amusing. Like, she's a very serious person. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It wasn't something that but I'm sure it's something she probably gets asked more than she wants to be asked. What do you think of that?
Speaker 7
I I almost wish that they had a lot left some of the the the laughter into that skit, because it was a very, you know, matter of fact, you know, sitting there on the back deck, having a a a serious conversation about something so silly.
Speaker 5
Yeah. But that's the whole point of that one is it's such a ridiculous topic that they're being so serious about. If they were breaking all the time, I think it would have been
Speaker 7
I don't know. I I feel like I would have I would have laughed at at a whole lot more Yeah. Hearing them break and because of the ridiculousness of it.
Speaker 7
I love bloopers. Like, I we keep on saying the same thing over and over, but it's so true. It's it's a love it's it's great to see behind the scenes. I especially liked, Riley and Jonesy. I found found them very humorous, and, and the skids. Oh my gosh. You know, Stewart enrolled for for what they do and all of this the craziness that are built into their scenes and, and and watching them break, it's fantastic. Love it.
Speaker 0
Yeah. And sorry. You maybe that reminded me one of my favorite things is early in that reel when Riley and Jonesy popped their heads in the room Mhmm. And Jonesy says I was like, did that voice just happen? Yeah. It's like he was taking an artistic moment, trying something different, and they called him on it immediately.
Speaker 5
It seems like a very jovial kind of, set where they they can poke fun at each other, which is great.
Speaker 6
It does. And Stewart, like, in the bed there with his legs splayed Mhmm.
Speaker 6
said, I feel so vulnerable.
Speaker 0
Well, yeah. Yeah. You know?
Speaker 5
You you basically got the money shot happening there.
Speaker 5
It's pretty funny.
Speaker 6
And it's so like, Riley and Jonesy are so they're it's so cute when they break and they're breaking each other. Mhmm. But when they're with Ronzi and Daxi and they're breaking them as well Mhmm. It, it's perfect. Like, that's just perfection. It it's so fun to watch.
Speaker 5
You know what? We'll do one last one, and then, we'll call it. So here we go. Season seven bloopers. Just queuing that up here now. Come on season seven. Load. Here we go.
Speaker 7
I'm a therapist too.
Speaker 5
Yes. You're a therapist. Thank you. Gotta love the ads. Thank you, Twitter or YouTube. Not Twitter.
Speaker 14
I just feel like I'm being unfaithful to my dead wife Barb. She died.
Speaker 9
Sorry. You gotta go back.
Speaker 14
I just feel like I'm being unfaithful. I just feel like I'm being unfaithful to my dead wife Barb who died.
Speaker 1
Fools? Oh, man. No. No. Sorry.
Speaker 16
We should be ripping extra strong oxidized alpine asagyu. We should be ripping extra strong oxidized alpine asagyu.
Speaker 1
We should be ripping Barney Yardy Gorgonzola. Fuck. What's your name again? Fuck.
Speaker 5
Yeah. It is. Mine update.
Speaker 1
What is it? Asiago. Asiago. Ass. Ass.
Speaker 10
Like ass. Yeah.
Speaker 1
You feeling all snooty today?
Speaker 9
You little unhappy? Maybe you need
Speaker 1
to get to the pub? Wow. The pub where we all hang
Speaker 9
out. Right, guys?
Speaker 1
Give me some of that gluten fruit. He's gonna bring that. Oh, give me some poppin' on for vindalut. Give me some of that not with the freshest of ingredients. Sorry. Yeah. Like, that's what the dude giving her the nut just ate. So all gay sex is butt sex, but not all so not all butt so all butt sex.
Speaker 8
No. It's the other butt.
Speaker 1
Butt sex is gay, but not all gay sex is butt sex. Right. But I
Speaker 15
mean, I'll be whatever Dax and Rah need me to be. You know, whatever whatever helps us get past this.
Speaker 1
What is the fucking lie?
Speaker 1
And most importantly, more good boys.
Speaker 6
Alright. Here we go.
Speaker 1
Yep. And and most importantly, more good boys. Why are you double handling? You're gonna wanna watch it right.
Speaker 1
I enjoyed the fuck shit dick. Pop taking on very difficult court cases? That's fucking shit, dick. New homes all
Speaker 5
over the world. Fuck shit. Devoted an hour.
Speaker 1
Have people call him. Help him up. Fuck shit.
Speaker 5
Oh, sorry. That's it. That's my bad.
Speaker 3
That was garbage out of my mouth.
Speaker 2
I wonder what Wayne got up
Speaker 7
Where are you gonna put that? Just kidding.
Speaker 8
This is inappropriate. This is No, I
Speaker 9
I'm literally slating and acting right now.
Speaker 6
Can I call you back? Oh my god.
Speaker 9
Sonia, one day you'll see this on the blooper reel. This is Sonia Bennett, everybody, one of our writers, calling in the middle of a work day like an asshole. Okay, guys. Come on. Everybody
Speaker 1
focus. Alright. Sorry.
Speaker 2
I'll add you in the queue.
Speaker 8
What happened? I missed what happened.
Speaker 1
And and most important, more good boys.
Speaker 3
Hold on. Give me a second.
Speaker 5
looking right at Nick.
Speaker 1
me and Lady Sojournis. But they
Speaker 9
started again. I called you Dan. I always fucking do that.
Speaker 1
you fucking calling me Dan, you stupid drunk dog?
Speaker 7
name Dan confuses me.
Speaker 3
Okay. What you want me to do now?
Speaker 1
Just start with the whole thing again.
Speaker 1
whole fucking phone betting thing again? Just stop it.
Speaker 1
I'm on a log of improv I'm doing? The thing that'll be cut. I don't even know why.
Speaker 2
Right. So what's the theme this year, boys?
Speaker 1
Letterkenny versus Penny. And the rules are quite simple.
Speaker 2
That's the end of the queue. Speaker 2
end of the queue forever. Speaker 1
Alright. We agree. Right? Let's fuck each other. I'm ready to fuck you. Me and you, fuck it. I'm ready. I wanna fuck you. Speaker 0
And most importantly, Speaker 5
Alright. Oh, man. Speaker 6
That was the best. Oh. Speaker 0
Oh, that was a really good one. Speaker 5
Very good. Let's go to Jeff this time. Speaker 6
I've watched that one before. And every now and then, like, when I need a good laugh, I put that that set of bloopers on. Speaker 6
It's it's got like, Valentine's Day is probably my favorite episode. And it's it's got it's got so much of the Valentine's Day stuff in there. But coach try coach is doing the, let's fuck. Like like, just straighten the straighten the Dylan's face. Let's fuck. Let's fuck. It it oh my it'll get me every single time. I also love, like, the Kiso, when Kiso is the first person to break, it somehow makes the blooper even better. Speaker 6
Because, you know, the boss man, the guy who created it, the guy who wrote everything, like, he's he's he's laughing at his at his own at his own stuff, even when he's not the one saying it. It, it's just great. Speaker 0
Yeah. I'll just I mean, it's amazing reel. I think my favorite moment, though, was, when Tierney and Petronevich were going at it. Right. Yeah. The the improv spiel there, which he when he called him Dan. Speaker 0
I love that they just ran with it, jumped right back into character, and just bantered back and forth. I wish there was I I bet you more of that exists, but I love that character play. Speaker 0
That that one really killed me, but that was a great, great reel. Speaker 7
I love, Caitra. Shit fuck. Shit Speaker 7
Every every time he screws up his line, shit fuck dick. Speaker 0
Shit, fuck dick. Speaker 7
I would so be there with him saying that because it's like, oh, just like, that's not it. And, try again. I I yeah. It's it's so entertaining to to see what happens behind the scenes because so many of those moments, you're like, how did they keep a straight face? I love the dicks in the in the church with Glenn, and and looking at his package and and and her saying, do we did we both stare at his package the whole time? Like, is that where both our eyes were? It's it's hilarious. Speaker 6
So fun to hear her normal speaking voice too as a winged Kelly's because, you know, her Anita Dick is so you forget she's a she's she's a person outside of that character, or at least I do. Speaker 6
It's so funny to hear her regular voice. Speaker 5
By the way, if, if you guys aren't aware, sir Sarah Wayne Calley is her name? Yep. She does she has a podcast. She does a prison break, after show podcast. Speaker 0
No. Does she really? Speaker 5
Because I think she was on the show. Speaker 0
Yeah. Yeah. She was Speaker 5
Yeah. So she does a prison break podcast with, I guess, some of her former costars from that show. So, if you were a prison break fan or a Sarah Wayne Cali's fan, check it out. She's on there. And I'm I'm hoping to reach out and and see if she'll do some cross promotion because I would love to have her on. Not not not that she needs our numbers, but, we'd love to have her on the podcast. She Speaker 0
needs to tap into the Canadian market. Speaker 5
Yeah. There you go. Good good good pitch. That I'll I'll lead with that. Yeah. Those those were really fun. It seems like that that's the favorite set of bloopers, for many people, from season seven. There's a lot to choose from there, I guess, from from all the the egg haul sets and and and, the Letter Kenny versus Penny and and, all those different, favorite episodes. Yeah. So that's what what I have for today. Before we get to final comments, I just want a quick bit of news here for our podcast. Yesterday, we hit three hundred thousand downloads. Wow. So we are, you know, one third of of a million, so, you know, and counting. Speaker 7
Wow. That's incredible. Incredible. Speaker 0
Math doesn't quite work like that, but we're close to one third Speaker 8
of a million. Close to Speaker 5
say it's a we're close to a third of a million? Thirty percent. Speaker 0
Thirty percent. Yeah. Speaker 0
Sorry. Not to ruin the moment. Speaker 5
I'm more I'm more of a spelling guy. Speaker 7
That's our our blooper reel right there. Speaker 5
say that just because I wanna thank everyone who listens and and you helped us get to this get this far. Without you, you know, this wouldn't be we wouldn't be doing this because it wouldn't be any fun. So you, the listener, make it fun. All the guests we've had in the past, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. We're gonna keep doing this. And, I mean, with Shorzy coming up, like, it's gonna be, you know, I can't wait can't wait for Shorzy season three. But other than that, I believe that's all I have to share news wise. So we'll go to final comments, and we'll start at ten. Speaker 7
This was fantastic. I was wondering what we were gonna do tonight. Speaker 7
glad it was this because bloopers, like, who doesn't wanna have a laugh? Jeff, thank you so much. It was always it's always so great to see you. I can't wait, for you to come up and hang out and enjoy some, face to face time. So that's, that's gonna be so exciting. Can't wait for that. You know what? I think they need to have, like, a b roll continuously going. And for Shorzy, it's so entertaining to watch the bloopers, and it's so entertaining to see what the behind the scenes is. You know, Jared Keeso, support anything you do. You have a heart of gold, and it absolutely comes through on the interviews, on the bloopers, and your whole team. Like, it it's it's it's wonderful to watch and, so grateful to be a part of just even a little bit of that. So this is great. Speaker 5
Putting these together, it's really interesting to see, you know, even just their the way they promoted the show from the beginning. Like, seasons one and two, like, if you recall the first few react, episodes we've done, there were so many clips, so many behind the scenes. So they did a lot of stuff behind the scenes for seasons one and two. And then, they gets they get signed they get re signed for a bunch of episodes, and they get signed with Hulu, and they do less, like, in terms of that kind of stuff. Right? That that kind of content. Right? They basically skipped seasons three and four for for behind the scenes and bloopers. They started it up again with season six and and beyond. But and even the interviews they did and stuff and Jared not or, yeah, Jared not being part of the interview junket anymore, It's just interesting to see kind of behind the scenes, get a peek of what it takes to promote a show like this in Canada and grow it, and and what you know, the journey they went through. Even today, if I don't know. If if you don't follow, if you're not yeah. If you don't follow, was it Montefiore on, LinkedIn, he posted a picture of the, the, I don't wanna call it, the the press guide or this the presentation they used to pitch letter Kenny to to Bell, he found it, and he and he and he took some pictures, and he and he shared it on LinkedIn. And you can actually read some of the stuff that they had planned, in terms of, like, the the their tie ins with with, with, you know, liquor companies and and how they were going to promote it and and the merch they were gonna sell. They had all this stuff preplanned and and some of it, you know, just to see everything that came into fruition and everything that that happened from it and things that happened beyond it with the Letterkenny live tour and and stuff that they probably weren't even dreaming of when they were when they first put this it was a pitch deck. It's a pitch deck together. It's it's really interesting. So, yeah, it's you know, if you're if you're a fan of seeing stuff behind the scenes, like seeing how the sausage is made, it's definitely interesting to see. Matt? Speaker 0
Yeah. This is a fun one. I love these these sort of off the cuff episodes, and ends on those bloopers are great. I just wanna comment all the sides. I don't know if anyone has tuned in to any of our older episodes right now. We've got a a little bit a bit running at the beginning. What we're gonna attempt to do is put cut together a couple sort of best of TPS episodes. Not in any rush to do this, but if you happen to be listening to old stuff or, revisiting content, you hear origin stories, favorite clips, likes or dislikes, interview moments, anything that you might find that, like, this is a highlight from the podcast. Reach out to us through the socials. Share the episode and the time stamp, and we're gonna try to put together a couple best of, reels down the line a bit. So, yeah, just wanna say thank you again. We hit the three hundred thousand mark. It's huge. We're all excited. We're gonna keep this thing running as long as you guys will listen, as long as there's content to cover, because it's nothing but fucking fun. Speaker 5
Mhmm. And, Jeff? Yeah. Speaker 6
Thank you for having me. Happy to come off the bench anytime. It's great to see the blooper reels because you you realize that, you know, the people you've been watching all along are real people, and it's good to get their personalities out like that. So, I love to see what makes them laugh. I love to see what makes them break. So, doing these rewatching these is is always fun. And it's good just to to revisit, you know, where we were, you know, a couple of years ago. So, yeah, it's fun. And, I can't believe that Matt just did some work that Al would normally do in asking for content. That is Matt, that is growth. That is growth, sir. Good on you. Speaker 0
I even I even, for the most part, wrote the little bit at the beginning of the episodes, and then Trace refined it a little bit for me. But yeah. Yeah. I'm running with this one, guys. Mhmm. I'm doing it. I'm doing the thing. Speaker 5
I'm so proud of you, man. Speaker 0
Thanks, bud. Thanks. Speaker 5
also wanna call out the fact that Matt stayed on this episode the entire time even though Jeff was here. Like, up until now, you guys haven't been able to occupy the same podcast, other than. So Speaker 0
In my defense, I only knew five minutes before that Jeff was coming. So I woulda looked like a real dick if I dropped off. Speaker 5
Yeah. And and your point being, Speaker 0
anyway Oh, none. None. Speaker 5
Jeff, thanks so much for filling in today. You literally filled in with, like, minutes to go. Yeah. So, we appreciate you doing that. And I'm gonna play us off here tonight with Tanya's favorite song. What is it? Yay. Speaker 7
What is it? Oh, Your Man. Speaker 7
It's Your Man by Joji. Does everyone love this song as much as I love this song? Speaker 5
I think you love it Speaker 8
a little bit more, but Speaker 9
it's a good song. It's a solid song. Speaker 4
Have you ever loved? Speaker 5
And that's all we have for this episode. Next week, we're gonna switch to Shorzy mode, and we're gonna have our buddy, Chad, join us to kick out his favorite scenes from season two of Shorzy. That should be fun and get us ready and and our appetites whetted for season three. If you'd like to support the podcast, become a patron, tell a friend. Also, follow us on most social media outlets at protosan pod. Thank you for joining us. Now we're gonna go continue the after party, with the rest of the d gens. On behalf of Tanya, Matt, Jeff, and myself, thank you for listening, and have
