So, here we go. Previously on Letterkenny last week at the produce stand. We reviewed episode 6 as short as he don't poke the bear with our guest. Michelle, that episode was a unicorn, getting a fresh rating from all of us. And according to our scientific Twitter poll, 97.8% of you agreed that the episode was fresh, and 2.2 gave it a clearance. Thank goodness. There were no competent compost. Given, what did you guys do over on the west coast? 13. Yeah, well out here, we had our Long Time, Pal and guest here today. Awesome handed out. Handing out squeezers left, right? And JJ. Of course, we had to drop them, it's on him. So we all felt very strongly about this season. I do this, especially the family and really let this one in more TRD. Would you don't need that? Yeah. Yeah very cool. And I have got that. I have got some theories on JJ but also some other fun theories that I am sure we're going to get to later on. Alright, so here we go. Don't bore us. Get to the car this week. We're going to recap and review the entire Gertie of season 1 as short as e with our buds from. How are you now? And so we're going to start off with episode one called never lose again, we are guest was Robbie and who's on hiring? Not for that one. We had David Mack, our latest table, read all. Yeah. What a great script, he wrote to so much fun. Yeah, yeah. I was listening at home and check out the YouTube channel for how are you now? Absolutely. It was so much fun. Yeah, it was great. If you're trying to have a hard time, remembering what that episode was about. We do have a limerick here to play for you. So sure. Is he in the Bulldogs are feeling the pain from another loss 20th, in the campaign on that thing's a folding Shores? These plan is a bold one to make sure the Bulldogs never lose a game. And on that episode, there we have a clip. And this week instead of doing the MVP on the produce, and we handed our game sticks and this is me hanging on my first game, stick for that episode. Letterkenny, he's supposed to be stoic. He's supposed to be squinty, and he doesn't well his eye. He doesn't. Well, in this one here short. I didn't even know. He could open his eyes. There you go, Searchers. He's showing all sorts of new emotional range, and I am loving it. And comedic range only like funny, like, I was saying to her thinking that the after party last week. It's kind of unfair because this guy. Oh, he's a brilliant hockey player. He's writes really good script. He's a good actor. Oh, hey, and he's funny with the f*** like what can he be bad at something, please? Like, come on. Like, he's a bad singer. Yeah, you know, who knows? Yeah. Maybe he's a good drummer to, by the way, like so. So it's unfair like, Kiesel smart. Not like, you got to be bad at something. Anyway, I give it two Shores. Yeah. I have talked to Trevor, and I think they have done both karaoke together, so I think you could sing as well, the whole time Fair. It's unfair anyway, she gets even thirstier later. Trust me, it's an, is the what did you guys ran? Some polls for these episodes, right? Yeah, I did and I will cover all the, all the ones, but I did. So as far as our rating for that, I would say, I don't think there is a Miss. on any of these, so I think for us it's all we're all fresh. All the Prosthetics words like across-the-board. Yeah he could. Yeah I mean there was one that's about stuffed. I think there was maybe one episode that fell close to clear its but it was interesting. It was if it aligned where yeah. And I mean yeah we will see. Because in this one here we are my Titania myself. Matt and our guest Robbie gave it a fresh and Victor gave it a clearance. So there you go. It wasn't a unicorn. Yeah, so we, I did a poll, and we had almost 400 people in all these polls crazy great. We're that rated both the episodes and then best clips from each episode now? And I will, so I put, I seeded the polls with some, some of the clips, the clips that we had done. Yeah. But I made it so that people could add them if they're needed to be. So now this first one that I got I had the for As it took off, the exactly that one and it took off right off the bat. Somebody had this one in and once it went in, it took over and never look back. You know what's f***** Corner. The amount of times your mum's faked a jellyfish sting to get me to piss on her? The mother of all trips. I love that, man. That's a great one Don. So yeah. So when we gave out our game sticks for this one here, I gave it to shore Z, Victor gave it to Sanguine Net10, you gave it to not, Matt gave it to Sanguine that in our guest Robbie gave it to shore Z. Yeah, I think our game stick, I mean, for me anyway, would be would have been Shores. The I don't know about tea. Yeah, sure. See ya, because he, I mean he's definitely the face of that episode. And, and with all the, all his new characteristics that you have seen now, Versa versus Letterkenny. It's yeah, it's hard, man, saying her hit the ground running. Oh yeah. Yeah. He did just let me Stephen, and he grew so much in season. Yeah, yeah. Singer. It showed the most growth in my opinion like schwarzy showed. Some everybody showed some but saying Gwinnett went like first episode was very timid and like, okay, are you sure? And by the end like, oh yeah, confidence of a coach and just like confidence in what he's doing. I love watching that so like not first episode, but he definitely is up there in the running for a season wide. Yeah. Now's our guest from that episode. Robbie who wrote in saying that, that he picked that as for favorite trip as well. The yeah, yeah, the jellyfish sting. You guys have any other comments about that episode? Move on to the next. It's a great setup and I love how everything in the cold open. Clip sets up used to. It's a roadmap, not just for that episode but for the entire series and everything they mentioned in that episode you see paid off in that episode for sure. Yeah I mean yeah that cold open your right. Set it all up. It was the meatiest the beefiest cold open. I think we have had in the United. First. Yeah, we spent time talking about how well they said in this series up, you know, didn't waste any. Anytime, gave us everything we needed to know about where we're at, set the stage and then let the story pick up from there, and I thought it was such a brilliant way, especially on a season, and a show that only does six episodes. Every minute is valuable. So, they started this series off so brilliantly. Excellent. When you're eating a cone and you're trying and you don't want it to melt fashion, you can eat it. Then you're kind of rushing. You're getting to the point where, you know, you're not enjoying it anymore. You're too kind of just your only gains. No, don't trying to make sure you eat it. Stuff. So it doesn't know if he's got to know it back. Relax. Enjoy the argue with the web. Now, I do, you do. I don't do that. I don't need an f****** Bowl. I mean, that's why our who is actually a pee. I highly recommend people watch the video of this podcast. I am not listened to it, because it's going to get fun. Steven comments to read of. So yeah, mom's coming in and cleaning up his apartment. It's clean because of bringing mom's home. I am like I am not that young maybe treats him so good that they want to clean. That is a kid with a gentle cycle for is for on the washing machine. I believe that actually, I believe that any way that episodes are first, I am going to try to move on here is the episodes. Our first unicorn of The season, not the last spoiler alert, everyone gave it a fresh and Twitter gave ninety-five point. Three percent gave it a fresh 4.7 gave it a clearance now is out of 43 votes. Now, I can't even remember. I think everybody was just great in that episode. I think that I would give mine to Sanguine at. In that one, he's starting to hanger, like, take, he started to take it seriously and like, not as afraid. So, even have to pull his wiener out, right? And mine was Laura more, of course, I am right there with you. You can never have too much of Laura more. Amy. Awesome hoot. What did you guys? Who, would you give it to? Amy, I am saying that for sure, you know, I mean t, kind of agreed a lot. When we talk about saying when I did, I was not expecting that from him at all. He came off so timid, and he just, he just looks like a timid little puppy. Just want to pet his hair, and then he really Rose to the occasion. So right, he lives like surprise a pleasant surprise. Yeah, they're very good. All right. On to episode 3 Know Your Role, our guests for that one. Was Joey Dean. Yours was ours, was my cousin tin law. Chris Churchman who is also a We're hockey player. I think he will actually I think he might still be playing. He plays beer league a lot and played for played while he was in the military. He's about actually is about to retire from the military. Yeah. So I remember listening to that episode with him on. Yeah, he had a lot of good insight for the hockey stuff. Yeah, they brought. Yeah you talk to, you know, about the locker room and you know how all the kind of stuff and in fact, the beer league special that we hear about. Out. He does talk about that being used quite a bit. Yeah, I think I mentioned a while ago, I once coached a beer league team, is that what it was? You could have a beer League Sports, Go Sports, and my friends were all in a team and I offered to coach, and they accepted. And so every week I showed up wearing a full-on suit. And they would, they would hold, my arm is I went across the ice and I would carry the water bottles and then I yelled the rest of the whole game. It was great. I found my God. Yeah, it was awesome. That was literally, my whole found, your calling over pushing. I thought I was right on point. So you did this more than one game. I did it for a full season, holy Jesus. Yeah, the rest hated me, man. They f****** hate him so much or It just, it just encouraged me to keep coming. Well done, excellent. Well, for those of you who need a reminder of what that episode was about, here's the Limerick. Well, the boys from timmers be too much, their toughest. And we had our longtime good resident joint boy, Renee and car nación. And so just to refresh everyone's memory but what that one was about the Bulldogs will have to beat North Bay while Shores. These family reunions underway, but half the team's gone missing and suresies sisters are kissing. Yeah so you can't win, don't play. And in this one here, there was a bunch of mansplaining happening. But in our defense, it was solicited. I don't know enough. But hockey and or did you know what is take what's happened? Well, the hopes of the whole point is the title of the episode. They show, they knew they couldn't win, so he had to figure out a way to not lose but also not play. If you can't win, don't play. And the only way you do that is by making sure both teams get them right. He's ordered them into an outcome that he and Influence the outcome that he desired. Yeah. So that was like, kind of, you know, a little he can do a little side gig, you know, doing a kind of influential video on how to. Yeah, I will pause the video to tell me, and he's like, this is where Victor told you that, you know if the skate goes over the red line, then yeah. No. That's right. And they said they were very obvious. That's right. Yeah. They were very obvious about that again, and it's just interesting that even when even as Mr. C was skating over to towards him. We learn from Victor that one of the things you do to taunt, another team is the cross that red line. You don't do that unless you were ready to fight and that's what Shores he was doing there. Dean. Well, this one actually was are really good and this was another submission that somebody brought in 284 votes on total on this episode for the clips this one on loan got a hundred and thirty-two votes. Holy s*** you're such an f****** Beauty. I sometimes forget what an odd looking East Coast Kanye are that's beautiful and it's amazing. I love hitch so much. Oh man, he's so Red. Who are they? And I will say that because for me this was the one that I said was kind of on the border, okay. So the family reunions. Like for me, it was that I am not a fan of that kind of love. So that was that sure but it explains a lot about chores these characters all right. Yeah but it's yeah it's still kind of there're some moments. I will say yeah it was a lukewarm fresh for me but and because that scene went a little long but yeah any seen the where you can have Scott Thompson it? I don't know. It kind of timing on that was perfect. Yeah both of these Our perfect. It was too hot. Yeah, you know I am curious about how psyched must have key. So been when they got stopped Thompson for the point is the guy just got a drag this one out. Yeah, for sure when you get Scott Thompson, you use them as long as he's a viable for sure. There you go. Game six for this one. Victor gave it to Benny and the suits, not Benny, and the Jets but Benny and his It's shorter. Z10 you give it to shore. Just, I am loving, I am loving what they're doing in cinematography on this season, especially that final scene where they're just panned out and just held it. Yeah, I will I was in love with that whole scene. Yeah. And it was a long scene, and he just helped me. That's a great shot. Yeah, I went back and watched it two or three times just like a see what the crowd was doing. And I just, I just yeah, it's just fantastic, man. I did not screw up so much for this one either. No, I don't think that anybody. Stuck out particularly. So would you say that this is when your least favorite episodes of schwarzy? I wouldn't say it was the least favorite but like that family seemed was kind of long, and I am hoping that there is something coming, right? That was needed for find a way to justify this. Yeah, but as a for as far as a stick, it's either all or nothing. So either everybody gets something or no one does, right? Well, and the love it. The thing that I love about that scene though. If Shores he goes on for many, many seasons, that one scene probably set up a half a dozen potential storylines, if you think about right? Like there's so many sisters are getting married. Yeah. Yeah. The sisters his brother like there's so many storylines and then that were set up if the younger sister. Yeah exactly. Tara Big Moe. Big Moe. What's what comes after 1000? 2,000 1,000. I know somebody who owns four but yeah, it's also not very bright, but anyway, but he's very bad as he was done. I think, I think, for me, the game, stick goes to the gyms for, for grabbing Shores, easy to pull him back and take it easy, kettle of those gyms. We're moving on to episode 5. Hockey brings people together. Our Guest for that. One were the cutest couple in the world Britain, Moe Dean, what about you? Our guest here. Amy was our guest on that episode, and we talked about looking chin Dibbles, Another thing in the bowls are nipple. Dimples more logical. If it was nipples, no more logical to be dimples. Like they could have, they could have made them creepy in so many other ways other than that and it would have been less absurd. I don't know. It's just kind of weird like Sofia. So that's why it's the only reason I give it a click, I love the episode except for the Potlatch ID, so I can get, I like the recycling of the bed that they look like. My detention animals drunk at some point. You know, I think that's a game like a good way to lean on the previous Series without like necessarily involving a whole ton of s*** that you don't have time to fit in properly. I don't know. I was with Al completeness when like I have been I even laughed at the poet said, he's like, I didn't enjoy them. It just didn't fit for me in this show. It felt really gimmicky and it off bases compared to everything they were doing. And so yeah, and that's what made it so great. Wonderful parts and this one I didn't get it all. I just love I honestly this season made me so happy and I will say it is going to be really. I think I like this better than I like Letterkenny. I mean, Letterkenny, I love it to death, don't get me wrong, but I have all I like a story, they don't give us that in. Letterkenny. They give us. It's almost feels like a serious. Yeah. Sometimes but it's not, it doesn't go on and it's like a series of sketch comedy episodes, where some you love. Some are kind of, okay, some are amazing, there's nothing going go. So if you miss one, you're like, okay I you wouldn't even notice but this there's a story and I f****** loved it. And Matt's going to make Beauty a Thing. Yeah, if it kills, its right, that's right. I have it beauty master. How can it not be? Yeah, they like you, like, you have called it a few days. They set up. All these different story arcs in different places that even if they only gave us a glimpse of it, they could easily. Yeah I absolutely agree with Matt. I would put it up there with the best scenes from Letterkenny that I have loved for however many years. It's been now. And, you know, going into this season, not expecting to even like it and genuinely feeling like I am looking forward to the next season of Shores, in more than I am looking forward to more Letterkenny, is kind of big person. Because like so often what we see in Letterkenny is they have had, they have got the big drama, and then we come back and it's already been resolved, right? I am I too went into schwarzy not, not thinking I was going to like it because Shores the character in letter. Kenny, I didn't see how they could possibly make a whole series on that, has that character, be that Shore Z for a whole season all episode all season, but I was surprised like they made this transition. There's a, there's a think about it. There's a big difference between In the shores in Letterkenny. Then the shores in this series, however you don't question anything. It doesn't occur to you be like oh now that's not right. That's not the story. His voice is different. The black wig is gone, he's not half naked all the time. You know what I mean? Like his face. I don't even know what I was expecting but it wasn't like a dip in his mouth, the whole time. Do you know what the same guy that plays Wayne though? But that's another thing. They don't look alike. They are two distinct characters by the same person. So Props to Derek you. So for that, but I feel that Letterkenny is a more familiar thing to me, like I could wrap up and how many seasons of Letterkenny as opposed to one of Shores Esure Z. I am not saying that I dislike it, I do like it very much. I can't say that I like it more than Letterkenny, because Letterkenny is my comfort blanket. It's in the background all the time. Sure there's a few more history you know, and I disagree with the story plot. I am very invested with the whole Rosie Marie. Fred thing why did Marie Fred happen? What's gonna happen with Rosie? She was already there. Once now she's back. Why didn't it progressed the first time? I think that there is a lot of stories and Letterkenny Shore. Z revolves a lot around hockey, and I am not Mary's sports ball ashore Sports puckish. I feel that This is a whole nother language. I talked about that before to, like I had to learn Canadian geese with Letterkenny and have captions on because I didn't know what the f*** they were saying, like what did I just? Wait, did I think that I really here? I had to Google the slang had no idea. And now, once I thought I caught a grip on that now we're into full-blown, hockey chirping stuff that I have. I don't even know. You don't know me. I am from the states. I am from West f****** Virginia. Ohio. We don't do. You know what? Hockey, like that's kind of like soccer, right? Like I am learning a whole new language again. So while I do I am very happy I am looking forward to shore. See I am looking like I am glad I like it's not I can't say that I am like oh my God it's so much better than letter. Can't I can't do that. Because Letterkenny is a it's a completely different thing, but I am very I am looking forward to what's going to happen with Shores. The I Wait to see what stories come from that. I can't wait for the Crossovers. Let me tell you, I am looking for to cross those an oh, Jonesy, and Riley's, mom's end up in schwarzy. Well, I hope that's what I hope that are around. I hope that Wayne shows up in Shores, he's universe, but we never see Wayne's face. That's what I hope. I hope while Riley. I think genuinely I think it does a bit of a disservice to both shows to compare them like their Apples to Apples. When really is kind of apples, two orangutans. Like if you just want to lock your tits off for 22 and a half minutes watch Letterkenny. Yes there is story. Yes or some character development. In fact, there was mostly just character development. What is Kenny is very character-driven Show versus Shore Z, which is almost entirely proper R than a character development happens, almost. Incidentally, like all of the character development happens to provide perspective to the narrative. So like I said I think comparing them is kind of useless in that sense. Yeah. So I am not really looking forward to one more than the other. I am looking forward to both of them being continued. Great deal. And as I made the point on, how are you now on my episode? The very, very last shot that we get before they smash, the credits is the traffic light turning from red to Green. So I hope that is an indication that there is a season 2, and we are indeed just waiting on the announcement to picking up on some symbolism getting light. I mean, yeah. I think it's pretty obvious that they're going to pick it up for at least another season. I am thinking to do not back the money, And I was thinking that the other we are driving around the city here and me crave. Crave loves these guys so much here in Canada like there're Billboards still yeah but it's everywhere right there's so much great stuff on crave, but they're posting Shore z bus stops billboard every room is where all we get all over HBO content. Yeah. And they're pushing Shores e, just to give you an idea, Leonard penny in there. Marty's show, that is what they have now. Neither Bank on. It was the first original thing they ever made and it has got them more views and more subscribers than anything else. And honestly the same thing is going to be true for sure. He sure he is going to become one of their Markie shows. If you're looking for precedent, we can rewind too early on in Letterkenny when Belle put money into having Letterkenny commercials on Super Bowl up here. Which that's big money. There were Letterkenny. Bowl commercials up in Canada. And that's so. And then that's when I think they got picked up with Hulu like that's when they joined with Hulu. So I feel like it's gonna happen, it's just weird. It's just weird because they have already announced that they're picking up another season 12 of Letterkenny and all these other shows, but they haven't said anything yet about chores. He's so that's kind of interesting and I like I was gonna say I laugh every time that like, crave puts these poles out as well, and it was on Twitter but about, you know, name your favorite Purdue or very caring is ever, there's a Letterkenny reference, we obviously pick it up and it just completely squashes any other thing and eyelids are taking that back and joking about men. What I was going to say, is what I would like to see is like, after they Series 4. And just before they started filming Series 5 crave ordered a 40 episode deal for Letterkenny. The characters like I did, I love the story, it really dug down into so many of the characters like, we got so much background for, for each and every one of them feels, you know, saying winnett phenomenal. And I don't know. It's really, it's going to be a hard one. But I feel like the person that surprised me the most and that made the biggest difference, was sure a z. You know he brought it every single episode and it was constantly more development, more character development on him. You know, you're a fan of not to in a lot of these episodes very much, so I loved her character. I love Shores in her together. I love again. Sure, as the in everyone, it was he was a person that surprised me. I wasn't looking forward to the show either. I was not, I shouldn't say I wasn't looking forward to the shows, looking forward to show but I didn't know what they were going to do with him. This is a guy that just chirps all the time and that's really one dimension of what we saw of him. So I really didn't see how they were going to create something else and it turns out by the, by the time we got to the 6th episode, you know, you fell in love with the guy that hit didn't really like and during Letterkenny and I think That was huge that they were able to take that character and make him lovable. So it's got to go to him. Okay Matt. Yeah. Yeah I know and just to quickly I go they took a villain, and they made him Charming. Hmm as what they did and somehow worked. I mean, REI life. Yeah. And as we got deeper and, you know, you saw the emotion come out in there, the reality of what she was trying to create with this team and what she wanted right down to that last scene, where she's sitting there with Shores and cheese. Basically in tears going like what do I do? You know, I stand by my word, I always do what I say. And now you have put me in this situation. Like she's so conflicted and I just loved her for how she carried that character throughout the season. So awesome getting blue spatulas. Yeah, so because you got to pick one. I am going to say the best character development throughout this whole series was saying winnette, but also, Michaels is a close second. I thought his character development, he went from that pathetic. We need coach at the beginning, to the guy that everyone was crapping on and lost his girl to Sanger to the guy who won his team over and, and, and prove themselves so big. And then, he also bared his soul and his penis. I mean, so runner-up goes to Michael's but I got It destroys. I Gotta Give It to the Title Character because he tied everything together for sure. Victor. Yeah, well though I would like to give it to the MVP Frankie JJ but I just feel he didn't show up enough. Then why would you, why would you bring it up? This is irrelevant. I know.
