Speaker 0
The new Shorzy trailer is rad, and we want the new episodes bad. It's the second season's best, and hell, I'm so impressed. I'm even skipping the fuck you, Chad. No. I'm not. Fuck you, Chad. Speaker 2
That fresh produce stand there, that's a beauty. Speaker 3
What do you listen to? Speaker 4
My Favorite Murder Podcast. Speaker 0
Jagger and Jordan's podcast. The produce stand. Speaker 6
It's Thirsty Thursday, and that means we are once again Hangout at the Produce Stand, podcast paying tribute to everything in that universe. Now I know what you're thinking. There are many other Letterkenny podcasts out there, but this one is about to set the tone for a new Shorzy season. I'm all your host, and joining me in the room as always is the lovely Tanya. And online, we have Squirrely Matt, the vagrant Victor. And joining us tonight from, sunny Minnesota, he's a lover and collector of all things Star Wars, Matt's nemesis, a patron. And despite what Matt says, he's a good guy. He's a really good guy. Please join me making some noise for Chad. Wondrous. Speaker 1
I regret nothing. Speaker 6
I'm gonna have to come up with one of those for, when we start doing Shorzy and we start moving away from Letterkenny. So that's gonna be an interesting task. Speaker 3
I'll take that down as an action item. Speaker 6
Yeah. That's thank you. Tanya, my EA, has joined us. As long Speaker 4
as you're making action items for yourself. Speaker 6
Anyway, let's get this rig oh, by the way, welcome, Chad, blah, blah, blah. Let's get this in on the ring. He's been here before. He knows it. He knows the drill. Here we Speaker 0
How are you now? Speaker 6
Hi, Daniel. Tonight's lineup is Victor, Tanya, Al, Matt, and maybe we'll let Chad talk as well. Victor. Just when I thought we're gonna have you for a few episodes in a row, you you you bailed on us last week. Thankfully, Jeff's, filled in, but how have you been? Speaker 4
I've I've been good. I've been really busy with the work, and, you know, last week, it was a kind of a work function, but it was one of those you have to go because you're it's kind of a negotiation kind of dinner where you're supposed to make a deal and whatnot. Speaker 4
Anyway, it it all worked out, and, I'm actually gonna be, on May thirtieth, I'm gonna be at an event, on a panel. Yes. Speaker 4
Yeah, so that's gonna be something different, something interesting. And it's kind of all related. So, Speaker 6
What do you be talking about on the panel? Is it gonna be, like, why a letter Kenny is the best? Speaker 3
For work or is this for pleasure? Speaker 0
How much percentage is trained? Speaker 3
We need to know. Yes. Will Crumbley Speaker 1
be a problem? A lot of hippo? Taco little hippos? Or Speaker 4
Yeah. So our our team recently won an award and, so with this vendor, and we are going so I'm gonna be kind of representing our company in terms of so people are coming there to find out, hey, what are you guys doing that we should be doing? And so there's gonna be people from other companies on a panel that it's like kind of an open a open, q and a kind of a thing, but, there's gonna be some, I guess, preliminary verbiage and whatnot. But, anyway, it's something to do. Something, something to do. Speaker 6
Is that in Toronto? Speaker 4
It is, somewhere downtown. I don't even I don't even Speaker 1
know what to do. Speaker 0
Like, can we come and route you on? Speaker 6
I think And by route, he means heckle? Speaker 0
bring the air horn. Speaker 4
I think it's semi public, like it's one of those things where it's sponsored by the vendor, and I think they want, like, people to be customers that are not customers. Speaker 4
Do you know what I mean? So it's probably like so if you wanted to be a part of it as part of like representing Moneris or something like that or any of your companies then you you could probably would could easily Speaker 0
We could just do a live podcast Yeah. From produce to represent the produce from the back. Speaker 4
Yeah. You could I I like how you're trying to anyway Speaker 3
I would love to be the t shirt air cannon person. Can. I would if we're if we're if we're if we're choosing roles now, I'd like to be that. Speaker 4
Alright. You mean, like, modeling the t shirt or No. Speaker 3
No. No. I wanna shoot it. Shooting. Speaker 3
Shooting is involved. Speaker 4
Okay. So so very quickly, so today, I started my running season. It it was twenty degrees, here in Toronto, and Celsius for you for you folks, across the border, in case you're confused. And, Speaker 6
Still doesn't mean anything to them. Speaker 1
No. It's warmish, I guess. I don't know. Speaker 4
But but much like the premiere of, the next, Shorzy season Mhmm. That's right because, Canada first. And, so so I started that and, a couple of shows. So, watched through three three body problem And? Which was really, really good. Speaker 4
And it's this is the, there's two out there. There's, like, a Chinese version, and then there's the kind of the the British version, I guess, or English version. Anyway, it was really good, but the ending kind of is a real, real cliffhanger to the point, like, is this even you know, it's like one of those where it's not an end season thing. It's like a mid season and then we'll take a break kind of a thing. It's like, this can't be the end. Like, they're they're coming back. Right? Speaker 6
Well, they are, but I don't think it it's gonna be a while. I Speaker 4
Be a while. So that that's a bit disappointing to kind of leave it like that to say, well, come on. This is you guys are just starting to tell the story. And then the other thing is, like, the name Three Body Problem is a bit of a misnomer because you never it never really that's more of a catalyst as to why, kind of Speaker 4
If things are happening, I'm not gonna say anything about it. But it it's not about the three body problem in any way at all, at least not yet. Not in this season. It's the three body problem is the reason for a lot of the things that are happening, but it's not about it. So it's a bit of a misnomer, and for those, science enthusiasts, if you're not sure what it is, just Google it, but it's, it's pretty cool phenomenon we can get into at another episode. Speaker 4
So that was really good. And then the other show that we're about, three quarters done is, Fallout Yeah. Which is oh my god. I love it so much. Speaker 6
It's fun. It's fun. I'm, I'm Yeah. I was gonna talk about it. I'm, I think four episodes in. I can't remember now, but, so far so good. Yeah. It's it's a lot of fun. Speaker 4
Really, really good. That's it. That's it Speaker 3
So happy May second. Are we on we made it to the second of May. Speaker 3
I feel spring fever is, like, full in kickoff. As, Victor was mentioning, Toronto hit twenty degrees today. So Speaker 6
That's warm, by the way. Speaker 3
Spring is in the air. Trees are budding. Plants are coming back up. It feels like a new beginning, and it's exciting. Speaker 6
Animals are fucking, like, everywhere. They're just out there fucking. Speaker 3
I I was outside today having lunch, and, a raccoon just kind of wandered down the the the fence line, looked at me, and then and then What? Speaker 6
What? Do do I need to be worried? Speaker 3
Looked at me and Speaker 3
then just, like, went away. And I'm like, oh, okay. The I just was got checked out by a checked out by a raccoon. Anyways, so that happened. Oh. Speaker 6
Did you have, like, half a sandwich hanging out of your pocket or something? I don't know. Speaker 3
It was just like, oh, hi. And then just kinda wandered away and was like, that was really a close encounter. Like, it was, like, really yeah. Anyways Speaker 6
He probably looked and said, you're not Cassie, and then just kept on going. Speaker 3
I don't know. I don't know. So yeah. Oh, I'm so thank you to everyone that sent, messages about how to rectify my foot. This week, I was like, okay. Any means necessary, and I've been taking to, using crutches and, a makeshift wheelchair, which is AKA my office chair, zooming around the upstairs. Alan says that it sounds like a a a low flying plane Speaker 3
But it's working. Like, I it it I feel better that I'm off of it. And, when I am on it, I don't get that incredible pain. So, it's helping. We had, played cards with some friends on the weekend, and we got into yeah. We and we got into, a new show, which I'm so I'm I'm loving, Elsbeth Yeah. Which is a spin off of The Good Wife. So there was a quirky, really smart, lawyer in the show. And, she's, like, super so it's like, the good doc no. Not the good doc. Speaker 6
You know what it's like? Let me I'm gonna explain. Speaker 3
Give me give me yeah. Speaker 6
She is basically I'm Speaker 0
gonna mansplain. Speaker 6
If if no. If if our friend Speaker 3
I felt like I felt Speaker 6
If our friend Aaron from Chicago played Columbo, that's Elspeth. Aaron playing Columbo Speaker 0
because it's basically Speaker 6
Have you watched any of it or have you seen it? No. Speaker 0
But I got I convey I I got it. It's all I needed. That was a perfect explanation. Yeah. Speaker 1
know it was true, but it Speaker 3
You know, do you remember the show House where, like, he he, like, watches somebody and then is, like, so fast to say this, this, this. Like, he could just from being hyper aware. Like that. Yeah. Speaker 6
Yeah. Monk was like that. But think of, like, monk or house, but Midwestern with very quirky and happy and go lucky and, yeah. That's, that's
Speaker 3
Love her. Love her so much.
Speaker 4
Erin is a good example. Exactly.
Speaker 3
Yeah. She she is like my this is my new favorite show, and, it's on regulars. It I don't know. It's true
Speaker 0
wherever you went.
Speaker 6
We're watching it illegally. So yeah.
Speaker 3
There you go. So, it's my new favorite show. And, finishing off Young Sheldon, which is something that, our
Speaker 4
Oh, we watched that.
Speaker 3
Our daughter started, and, they're finishing off the the, the whole kit and caboodle ends this year. So I think end of May. So we've been, watching the rest of that.
Speaker 6
So are they gonna do, like, old Sheldon next and have him and
Speaker 4
We had old Sheldon.
Speaker 6
No. No. Like like retired Sheldon where they're like in in Shady Acres and, yeah.
Speaker 4
Who who would play that?
Speaker 6
I don't know. We could have fun
Speaker 1
The the current actor of Sheldon. Yeah. Well, yes. The the original actor, I should say.
Speaker 6
I don't know. Sure.
Speaker 1
I don't know if there's any how
Speaker 3
old those guys are. And now how
Speaker 6
Parsons. Part Jim Parsons. Alright.
Speaker 0
It's fine. Hold on. Funny. Just something I was quick quickly looked it up.
Speaker 0
There was some talk about like, there was an article. I said, I don't know if there's any validity to this, but it's like, there was rumors that Michael Keaton might be approached to play an old Sheldon. Michael Keaton. Yeah.
Speaker 0
a possible spin off. Whether it's I mean, this was on people
Speaker 6
Michael Keaton has way too much personality
Speaker 6
For Sheldon. I mean, I'm sure he as an actor, he could probably do it. But
Speaker 4
Oh, oh, you know what? They should who should Goldblum, the the fly.
Speaker 6
Jeff Goldblum. Oh. Yes. Maybe. Yeah. Maybe.
Speaker 0
Like, he's probably has a look.
Speaker 6
Oh, well, he's tall. John Lanky.
Speaker 1
Goldblum only plays one character.
Speaker 1
By the way one character is Jeff Goldblum.
Speaker 6
So Awesome says Jessica Fletcher is right there in terms of comparing Elspeth to a a a like, car.
Speaker 6
But I don't think so. Because Jessica Fletcher wasn't quirky. She was she was kind of I don't know.
Speaker 3
She was kind of, she was professional. Like Yeah. No.
Speaker 6
No. The Elizabeth is quirky. Watch it.
Speaker 6
My my my comparison my comparison to Aaron meets Columbo is perfect. It's apropos. Trust me. Anyway Well,
Speaker 3
she's from Chicago.
Speaker 6
Yeah. And she's got that accent, and she's got yeah. Anyway And
Speaker 4
Don't take it away from Erin. Awesome. Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. Don't take it Speaker 6
away. Let's see. Yes. We were watching else or Elizabeth. Yeah. Fallout as well. Really enjoying that one. I'm really pumped that Severance two has been Speaker 4
Speaking of fallout because the guy from Severance is in fallout and vice versa. Speaker 6
Yeah. Yeah. So I can't wait to see that. I don't know when it's coming up, but they've just wrapped shooting it. So probably gonna take some time for them to edit and all that stuff, but looking forward to that. And I started that Bon Jovi, series. Speaker 3
Oh, did you? I went and watched that. Speaker 6
Yeah. It's, my only subscribers. Find it? Speaker 3
our thing. Oh, on Speaker 6
On the thing. And, I just saw the first episode of it, and it's it's interesting. It's a Speaker 4
Just call it Roku at that stage. Speaker 6
Yeah. It's on Roku. Roku with a big wink. It's been so far so good. You know? Oh, okay. Nothing nothing new there. Like, I was, you know, growing up, I was a big Bon Jovi fan. So I watched all of the extra videos and stuff they Speaker 4
they I I was a Richie Sambora. Speaker 6
Yeah. Yeah. I I figured you would be. But, Speaker 3
is watch it, so don't watch anywhere. Speaker 6
This one's interesting because in the first episode, Richie's not in the picture, and Richie's left the band. Right? He hasn't been in the band for a while. I mean, Bon Jovi isn't really a band. It's John and then a bunch of hired musicians. So, Now. Not then. Oh, even then, It was always him. It was always him. The the the guys around him were interchangeable. Speaker 4
Like Hey. Richie wrote a lot of the music. What you talking about, Willis? Speaker 6
Well, anyway so Richie, though, is a bit of a wild card here because he's no longer with the band, and I'm not sure why. I don't know what the the story is why he left. Speaker 6
Richie Sambora, the guitarist. But the first episode ends with Richie Sambor sitting down for his interview, and it it's it looks like there's looks like there might be some drama there. So we'll we'll see what that's about. But, yeah, it's a it's interesting. It's an interesting show. Yes. Speaker 3
Take back to me for a sec. Speaker 3
I have to I have to tell I have to I have to say, I there was a VPN issue today, and I totally nailed it. And every time VPN is the answer, I just need a point. And I just wanna make sure that that's well known. VPN is always the answer. Speaker 6
VPN's the new turn I'm plug it and plug it back in Speaker 3
kinda thing. You know, where, you know, where, like, a you have your options of a, b, c, d, and c is always VPN is always letter c. Okay. It's always it's always the answer. Just letting you all know. Speaker 6
Anyway, other than that, been busy with work, really busy. Episode six of Yes We Were Open, I'm working on that for next week. And, yeah, just just heads down busy. Speaker 0
Matt? Yeah. Been on my TV game as well this week. Also, dove into Fallout and finished Fallout in two days. Speaker 4
Don't say nothing. Speaker 0
I won't. I loved it. I thought they did a really good I mean, I played the video games, Speaker 0
they leave you at the end. I'm already excited about where it's gonna go because that opens up a whole other aspect of the game series. I thought that they handled it really well. For those who are fans of the games, they hit on them all the big points and the main characters and the areas and factions in the show or in the game. So I I thought it was a really well done show. The other one I'm continuing my journey down, I as I mentioned, I crushed Yellowstone, which, of course, now I need to check out the prequels. So I did crushed eighteen eighty three. Really like that, actually. Basically, it has nothing to do with the actual show Yellowstone. It's it's a prequel leading up to how they ended up in Montana, but it's a really almost hard to watch story of a pilgrimage across the Oregon Trail. Speaker 0
But it's it's very well done. I really like that. And now I'm on to the second prequel, nineteen twenty three with Harrison Ford where, it's now their life. So it's just they they they the different time periods take take part of the Dutton family journey, who are the main characters in the Yellowstone. But it's a really great show, so I'm enjoying all three of those. So if you're looking for something, check them out. Running, there's a very top everything's on topic tonight. Running, I got back I'm back into running again as well. Speaker 6
And I'm not yet. Yeah. Speaker 1
Yeah. Same. Me too. Speaker 0
Victor called it out. I, I I might I've been getting my distance up quick. I crashed a ten k a couple days ago, which I hadn't done in some time. So it felt Speaker 0
Yeah. Thanks thanks, Richard. Speaker 0
of Not all of us are perfect like you, man. Anyways How long did you guys just Speaker 3
turn it on and turn it off? Like, I Speaker 0
Well, I didn't just turn it on. It took me, like, eight runs to get to ten k, whereas he just goes out and does ten k. Like, it was nothing. Speaker 3
But usually, the whole summer on. Speaker 0
Oh, now it's hard. Speaker 4
No. It took took me, like, it took me an hour and ten minutes. Like, usually, I'm at, like, fifty five or something like that. It's, like, an extra fifteen minutes to run what you typically run. Speaker 6
Yeah. That's that's what she said. Speaker 3
But, again, how do you go from no running? Like, no like, how do you go from because you you're not on a treadmill. You you don't No. Speaker 4
I do my I I I have on my my bike. Speaker 0
Oh, do you? I literally do nothing in Speaker 3
the That's what I mean. Speaker 3
I mean. How are you not, like, run, run, run, then, like, drop to the ground with a cramp? Late cramp. Like, done. Speaker 0
I don't know. I I enjoy it. I get a weird I Speaker 6
have dehydrates. Speaker 0
I hydrate. Yeah. Speaker 1
Who does that? Hydrating? Never heard of it. Speaker 3
What what is it? Hydrate. I say take some water. Speaker 0
so the fitness game is back on. So hoping to get I I I've mentioned a few episodes ago that I'm I'm doing a tough Mudder thing in September. So starting a slow growth back into fitness so that I don't absolutely die in the middle of that. So that'll be fun. And the last thing I'll call out, tonight, we went so just saw it was a really nice day here in Toronto. We hit up a brewery in town for dinner, and some drinks. And no idea unbeknownst to us, there was some live music that hit. And this guy walks up, just never never heard of him, sets up his sets up his gear and starts playing. And the moment this dude started to sing, I'm like, what the fuck? I turned around like, that is this guy's voice was, like, something I hadn't heard in a long time. I was completely capped at a cover artist doing lots of stuff, but, I posted a video on my Instagram of him doing a Whitesnake song. I mean, that the the video doesn't do him much justice. Speaker 4
White Snakes is hard to Speaker 0
Well, he did the classic here you go or here we go again on my own, but displayed it. But he did a version as an example. He did a a cover of Bobcaygeon Tragically Hip that I would argue was almost as good, if not better than the original, in his own Bite your tongue. Own I know. Side voice. Speaker 0
I it gave me chills, man. His vocal range, even there's a he did, what's that, ground control to major tone? Tom. Tom. Tom. Tom. Speaker 0
Yeah. Major Tom. What are that song's I Speaker 6
But he Odyssey or something like that? Speaker 0
He did that, and he started, like, in the super low register when he when he hit the song, and then just, like, he was going all over the map. And even Jen was like, this dude can wail. The staff was even stopping and sitting down at the benches just listening. I'm like, so his name is Kelly Davies. I started following him on Instagram right away. Turns out when I looked him up, he does shows at Donnelly's as well. Alright. So he's Speaker 6
What's the band or is he, solo? Speaker 0
He's just a solo solo artist, Kelly Davies. Nice. Speaker 0
know if he's a regular up at Donnelly's, but I saw that on his law of his roster of of acts. But Speaker 0
I'm definitely gonna be finding this guy again, like, because I could Matt, Speaker 6
if you go up to Donnelly's to see this guy play Speaker 0
I will not. I promise. Speaker 3
Please. Go up, take a picture, and then let's see if Alan finds it on your Speaker 0
No. No. All he knows is gonna be I know he's gonna be at this particular Speaker 6
do that, but at least, you know, Speaker 4
you know. Yeah. Matt, let me know. Speaker 6
We'll go together. Speaker 1
Yeah. Five hundred. But Speaker 0
I was just You guys Speaker 0
So nice. It was so unexpected. And then when he started saying, like, this this guy was, his voice was just off the charts, man. So shout out to Kelly Davies in Toronto here for Speaker 0
Yeah. Shout out to Kelly. Solo act. Speaker 6
I'm I'm just kidding. No. I'm I'm sure he's great. Chad, Speaker 0
I knew that might have been a soft spot. Speaker 1
I'm I'm doing pretty good. Yeah. Life's pretty good for Chad right now. Oh, yeah? I wonder why. Speaker 6
New Star Wars or something? Or Speaker 1
It's all new, man. I don't know. Monday, I hung out far, far away. Yeah. Monday, I hung out with surprises. Did played some bingo. Mhmm. Lost nothing. I I won nothing. So that was I was close to winning. Okay. But, Speaker 4
unfortunately always had the middle Speaker 1
No. Wait. You're supposed to fill that in? Shit. Speaker 3
I did win. Oh, no. Speaker 1
Yeah. I know. It's been a life is pretty good. I I mean, I played bingo, won nothing, so that was great. I, just been watching bingo? Yeah. Bingo. Speaker 3
I tried that for Speaker 1
my birthday. You know you know how you know you know the game where they, like, roll up the cards, you you have the card? Speaker 0
Nothing. I don't understand this. Speaker 6
He won nothing. He won zero. Speaker 0
Wrong one. There's fucking homonyms. That's the right is that the right word? Hominem? No? Speaker 1
Who knows? Awesome knows. Speaker 6
You're driving awesome bananas Speaker 4
I love that we've talked so far for two minutes about you losing a bingo a bingo. That's Speaker 1
Exactly. Exactly. It won nothing. Quick anecdote. And, yeah, What what what else did I do? Finished I finished Fallout this week, and it's a good show. Mhmm. I've I've played maybe an hour or so Fallout four back when it first came out, so I have no idea what's going on in that world. So I've Speaker 4
played the Vegas version. It was a Vegas. New Vegas. Speaker 1
That's so good. Yeah. Yeah. That Speaker 0
All four was amazing. But You Speaker 6
know what? I've never played any of those games, and I still enjoy both Fallout and Twisted Metal. You don't need to play And and Speaker 4
and the two of us or whatever that game is called or, one of us or of us. Speaker 6
I haven't watched that one yet. It's on my list, but, yeah, I wanna watch that too. Speaker 4
Oh, you're missing out. Yeah. You gotta watch. Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. I finished that and just, you know, hung out, did my homework. Uh-huh. Speaker 6
Yeah. So that's all you did there? Alright. Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 6
I mean, Chad, it is springtime. You know what I mean? It is. Alright. Well, why don't we move on then to the festivities for tonight? Speaker 2
Previously on Letterkenny. Speaker 6
Last night, we or last week, we had some fun watching and reacting to early Letterkenny interviews and blooper reels with our buddy, Jeff in Victor's absence. This week, our buddy, Chad, joins us to kick out his top favorite scenes from Shorzy season two. So here we go. Speaker 2
Well, don't bore us. Get to the chorus. Speaker 6
And when when you sent me your list, Chad, you're right. On the same document, you had your list from season one, Shorzy, and that's when I remembered, oh, yeah. You kicked that out too. So I guess this is your thing. Right? After each Speaker 6
Each Shorzy season, you're gonna come in and tell us why it's so good. Speaker 3
excited to do Shorzy. It's been a while. Speaker 6
I know. I know. It's gonna well, June twenty eighth is when we start our coverage of that because we have to wait for our American friends to catch Speaker 1
up on season two. I totally planned this out of waiting forever to talk about Shorzi season two when they announced Shorzi season one, not because I procrastinated till, like, almost the last minute Speaker 0
Or anything. No. That would never be Speaker 1
the that would that would never be me. I would never do that. Speaker 1
But, you know, I planned it out. Like, you know, I knew they were gonna, like, release the trailer last week, so I was like, I'll I'll have this ready in the show. Speaker 6
Yep. Or And you mentioned that. A teaser was released last week. Another teaser released yesterday, which we'll I'll show you later. You're gonna get a kick out of this. It's it's basically all the sluts dancing in their underwear. I mean, it's Speaker 6
Yeah. It feels so good. We I got Speaker 0
so many I smiled the entire minute. I'm like, this is this is perfect. Speaker 6
I I got so many animated GIFs out of that one trailer. It's, it's really good. Alright. So It's Jeff. Gift. It's gifts, Matt. Chad, I mean, do do we do you need to talk about your process, or should we just, get a bit blank? Speaker 1
My process is the love of God. Don't talk Speaker 0
about your process. Speaker 1
I watched the show. That was my process. Speaker 6
That's your process? What? Speaker 3
I'm sorry. This is just, like, best of Speaker 6
This is these are Chad's favorite clips from Speaker 3
Chad's favorite clips. Speaker 6
Letter yes. Yeah. Okay. Why don't I let let the video tell you what this is? Exactly. Speaker 5
Chad's top ten scenes from Shorzy season two. Speaker 6
So there you go. They're the top ten scenes according to Chad. Speaker 6
This is by no means Speaker 1
Make your own list if you don't like it. Speaker 3
And were you starting with ten? Speaker 6
Yes. So here we go. Speaker 3
Have eleven up there. Speaker 6
You'll see. Because Speaker 1
Don't ask questions. Don't ask questions. Speaker 3
Did I just break the wall? Did I break the wall? Speaker 6
You the one time you choose to read my script I Stop. Don't look at it. Speaker 0
Oopsies. Here we go. Speaker 3
We can just edit that. We can Speaker 2
Most women can do more than that Speaker 7
to my pee pee. Remember, under no circumstances do you speak. We'll do the talking. Better help you don't sussy, you slut. Speaker 9
Who's fucking you? You mean who am I fucking? Who's she fucking? This is how he Speaker 5
says I look good. Speaker 3
look good. Hey, thanks. Speaker 7
Fuck you, Shorzy. Would you get us a limo? Two sacks. Two sacks. Speaker 2
Does he get a ride with your head out the window? Speaker 10
Shortsy? Shortsy. Get in. Speaker 5
My brother and I will be here at eight o'clock to pick up Frankie for the man advantage. Speaker 2
Is it the man advantage? Speaker 10
Yeah. I haven't gone with Tippin, Speaker 5
but, alas, the man advantage. Speaker 2
Frankie's feeling a little blue. I don't think he's gonna make it to the man advantage. Oh, no. Yeah. So Shorty? Shorzy. Speaker 5
That's what happens if Frankie's not sitting exactly where you are tonight. Speaker 5
fuck out of here. Speaker 6
This is, the scene where we Speaker 0
Forget about it. Speaker 6
This is a scene where Shorzy forgets what genre they are, and they go from hockey comedy to gangster. Anyway, Chad, talk about this scene. Why did you pick it? Speaker 1
I mean, it's just a great like, work of camerawork, honestly. Work of camel. It's a great use of camerawork, I should I would say. I mean, billion and his team is Speaker 4
Are you saying camera or camel? Speaker 1
Camera. Alright. A little lubricated myself. Yeah. It I mean, it's just great work from Billy and his team of doing that, but, like Speaker 1
A beautiful one shot of moving from car to car. Honestly, that's probably why I picked it. Speaker 6
Yeah. So this is from episode five, and it is, yeah, one long, I believe, almost two minute long tracking shot, which is Yeah. Pretty impressive. Victor, what did you think of that one? Speaker 4
I thought it was fantastic. Mhmm. You know, you you get to see a little bit about the the mystery behind what these guys are really capable of at the end and then kinda wondering, well, jeez, they don't just look funny, but they're also they do they do maybe not so funny things. But, yeah, it was good dialogue, and, and, excellent camera, not camel work. Speaker 3
You know, I'm I'm glad you've actually brought this clip back to light because, you know, these goofy ass people sitting with their mouths open, like, staring off into Never Never, and and it's like, okay. Who are these characters? And then this scene and and, like, the WTF of, like, what are we being brought into? Like, what is the background story of this of of, of, Speaker 6
The Polochettis? Speaker 3
Thank you. I couldn't remember their names. Speaker 4
It it's like the basement out of Pulp Fiction. Right? It's it's like, okay. Speaker 3
In that one quick scene, it's like It's true. Yeah. Like, what is happening? What's the story line? Where's the drama gonna go with this? And and completely not hockey. It's just like it it took a complete left turn, and it's like and then dropped, and then nothing happened. We heard nothing more other than, whatever they say, whatever they do, they seem to get what they want. So, yeah, gangster. Speaker 6
So, I mean, yeah, if the purpose of the scene was for us to to know that the Polochettis aren't to be fucked with, that scene worked perfectly. I just this scene makes me happy just because when we were in Sudbury and and watch by the way, we'll talk about that after. But, when we were in Sudbury being followed around and videotaped, I I went out and because Billy Butchery was out having a smoke, and we were chatting, and he was all excited. He's like, oh, I can't wait till you see season two. There's this one shot where we go from one card to another, and it's all one long. So he was really proud of it. Speaker 6
And, so I'm like, I I can't wait to see it, Billy. And and when I see it, I'm gonna make sure I I call it out. And, yeah, it's a great shot. And, you know, it may look like it's something easy to do, but, obviously, it's a pretty challenging shot because a lot happens inside both cars. And and so for it to never cut away, it's it's impressive. Matt? Speaker 0
Yeah. I mean, when we talked about this first time, it didn't you you didn't even need to go to your way to call it out. It was it spoke for itself. It's such a strong, shot. I love this kind of stuff. I mean, I gotta say, it was great to say Meek again. We haven't seen Shorzy in a while. Love, sir. Mhmm. So hi, Meek. Speaker 6
You're a married man, Matt. Speaker 0
I I'm talking to the fictional character. Okay? Speaker 0
makes it okay. I don't know. Anyways, but, no, I love the I love this shot. The the back and forth that it is. There's nothing easy about that kind of stuff. You you talked about the different components going on, the dialogue, the bounce. It has to be flawless. And I think you do we ever talk about did you get it from both that they said they actually did it in only a couple shots? Like, they it was quite successful. I thought I recall Speaker 6
I think you said it. Yeah. It didn't it it it only took a few tries to to get it right. So which isn't surprising considering how how practiced they they all are with with their minds minds and stuff. Speaker 0
And that was that's my point. Like, they've always talked about how they're just so in tune. They're they're a well oiled machine with them, and they do. And I love and I always praise Shorzy, especially season two, for them taking all these extra, challenges on to to deliver some new content, and this was just a great example. Speaker 6
Yeah. This is a sitcom. It's not a it's not a a freaking, Kapala movie. Like, they don't need to to go this hard, but they but they do. So it's really cool. Yeah. Alright. Let's see what, the next one is. Speaker 6
gonna have to skip Speaker 5
what happens with ranking? Not sitting exactly where you are. Speaker 0
What? Come on, man. Speaker 4
I'll set you go. Speaker 1
I was playing for me. Reverse. Speaker 6
No. Because I I forgot to pause it. Alright. We're back on track. I promise. Speaker 6
Hey, dude. You're welcome. Speaker 2
You know, you could have breakfast with me every day of the week if you wanted. Speaker 2
You wanna talk about the angst? Speaker 10
I need a quote. Castle. You should look at people when they're talking to you. Speaker 2
No. It's better this way. Trust me. Why? Because you're so fucking hot, I can't look at you and focus at the same time. Uh-uh. Which sucks because I just wanna let you in so bad. Speaker 10
You've really got those walls Speaker 2
up. Look. I've made mistakes in the past. Okay? I show myself to people too quickly, then I get hurt. Speaker 2
Alright. But you look like that, so don't be surprised if I look like I wanna be underneath you. Speaker 10
I'll try to conceal it. Speaker 10
I need a quote. Speaker 2
Do you ever look at someone, they look so good, you just wanna go, no way. No.
Speaker 2
ever had that? You look at someone, you just wanna go, alright. The Sue Hunt. Oh, I tell the boys the sexiest thing about you is your mind, and here I am breaking a sweat so I can see your bras in nontraditional colors.
Speaker 2
I just tell them how much you challenge me and make me curious with your ideas.
Speaker 2
You know, I've never had someone expand my horizons like this.
Speaker 10
I don't know what to do with you, ma'am.
Speaker 2
Or it's taken me a life time, but I finally feel alive.
Speaker 10
I'm not gonna get my quote, am I?
Speaker 2
Give me a shot, or
Speaker 10
Text me something. What do you really say about me? Me? I'll never tell. I'm a journalist. I'll keep asking.
Speaker 2
You're smart, capable, dependable, outgoing, kind, consistent. You're a leader. And you smell so fucking good.
Speaker 6
That's great. From season two. I've always said, Kiso knows how to write dialogue between his protagonist and his protagonist's, you know, date or woman or whatever. It's all it's been great. Chad, why'd you pick this one?
Speaker 1
This is, like, the first time we see them interact this season, so it's always good to like, their season are some of my favorites from season one. Mhmm. It's always good to kinda, like, see them. Their relation's definitely grown this in the second season, so it's, like, great just to see them together
Speaker 1
As my list will show.
Speaker 6
Yeah. There's a bit of a there's a bit of a theme to your list, but, we'll we'll we'll move on to that on that one, Dan. What do you think?
Speaker 3
It just, it just makes me smile from ear to ear. They do, the banter, the one on one banter so well, especially this team up of of Shorzy and Laura. Oh my goodness. They they are. You just can't help but smile and and cheer them on at the same time. They just the the they're so cute with each other. Like, they they they really match each other well in in the banter. Mhmm. And, yeah. It it's a perfect pick. Love it.
Speaker 6
Great to see Eddie. Great to see Eddie's. We ate there, and it was a lot of fun. And talk about them, obviously, you know, again, taking challenges. They don't need to take, but they do anyway. The, mirror the the wall they're sitting beside is mirrored. And there is one scene in particular that is dead on straight shot at the mirror, but because there's a chair rail there, everything has to be set up below that chair rail for that shot to work. Because as far as I know, they're not using CGI to to to remove stuff from the reflections and stuff like that. So, again, just kind of one of those things like, how can we make this scene more challenging? And and only a few people are gonna pick up on it. But, yeah, it was great. Matt?
Speaker 0
So the the chemistry between those two is undeniable. We talked about it again and again. As I listened to it again, I'm like, do you think and maybe it's none of these options. A, he has used lines like this before in real life. Is this where they are these, like, taken from real life experiences? He's just that swab. Or, b, did they write them realizing how they swab and then took them home and tried them out? So I like to imagine that these kind of things are real life and and, you know, I know he's married and everything. And does does the wife get this suave ness at home? I hope so. I hope it's true. I know it's a character, but I hope that's where it goes.
Speaker 6
That's all. That's all. I love it. Alright. Victor.
Speaker 4
Oh, man. The the force is strong with that one.
Speaker 1
Oh, no. Hey. I get it.
Speaker 6
I understood that reference.
Speaker 4
Yeah. It it's it's fun watching a lot of these scenes now that we've been kind of so integrated Mhmm. Into this whole universe because it's so meta. Right?
Speaker 4
It's, you know, we sat there, we ate there, we, we're trying to figure out how to get in. I think it's the first time we got there because we weren't sure how to get in.
Speaker 0
That's right. We all got lost.
Speaker 4
And when we when we first walked in, we had no idea where we were supposed to be because we thought there was a special place for us, but it looked just like a regular restaurant that didn't have a special table for us, and then we realized there's a back room and whatnot. Anyway, so that was cool, and then also just seeing seeing him sitting in that sweatshirt that we're all wearing as well, like it's just so it's just so homely, like, like like we're part of it, I don't know, it just seems so cool that way. And obviously this scene itself is great, and the dialogue is great. The chemistry is
Speaker 4
Spot on. So, yeah, very, very cool.
Speaker 3
I remember being, at the the restaurant and you guys trying to guess where where would the scene be set up because we had no idea what the the show what the the actual,
Speaker 6
Well, there's that whole new section, those brand new newly renovated
Speaker 3
we've got. All of these pictures of you guys at the bar, like, with your hats on backwards. Yeah. Trying to look trying to mimic and and look like Shorzy, thinking, okay. This is this has gotta be how it's gonna be set up.
Speaker 6
And and nothing.
Speaker 3
None of that. None of that.
Speaker 6
it was in the bar. It was all in the old restaurant area, but, yeah, it was really cool.
Speaker 0
I think where we ate the the last day was probably closer to where it actually was shot.
Speaker 6
Yeah. Yeah. And alright. Here we go. Next, next scene.
Speaker 6
I should be describing what's happening I should be describing what's happening in this one, but you'll forgive me if I don't just watch.
Speaker 3
Shall I describe?
Speaker 3
So it's it's Nat getting ready for her date, trying on different outfits, looking in the mirror. I'm trying to get it with someone. Enough. Know of it. Work for what she wants. It's just Get me your someone. And she answers the door in her lingerie looking smoking hot. Girl turns around, walks to the bedroom, and is followed by
Speaker 6
a man who doesn't even look like he's trying, and he's about to
Speaker 4
That dude should have he's so out of her league, though. Like, it's just so crazy.
Speaker 3
He should have a big, dumb smile on his face. That's what he should have on.
Speaker 6
Yes. I would. Chad, why
Speaker 1
did you pick this up? Why am I asking you why? Why you gotta ask. It's great great film all well, I can't talk tonight. Thermography? Yeah. Sure. That word. Sure. Yeah. That's why. Do I gotta explain?
Speaker 6
No. You don't. So that's from episode four. That's the cold open, and that's not getting ready for her date with what wasn't it? What was I don't know. Is it a date if you're just hooking up?
Speaker 3
Oh, it was her takedown.
Speaker 0
fuck. Takedown. I like it.
Speaker 3
was her takedown. Yeah.
Speaker 4
I think they called that a booty call.
Speaker 6
Yes. And and quite the booty. Anyways, so yeah. I mean, what's there to say about this scene except wow. And good on and bravo, Nat, and good on you, Schnur. Could've you could've tried a little bit better wearing a Keswick Commander jacket to to to a date with him.
Speaker 4
He was basically he came dressed as Derry, maybe a little bit above Derry.
Speaker 0
But Yeah. Yeah. Like
Speaker 1
Derry would've showed up in barn clothes though. So
Speaker 4
Yeah. That was close.
Speaker 3
I love when we had, I believe I know the ladies. We were chatting about this scene, and I remember, one of the the comments was that none of the outfits, it wasn't that she was looking in the mirror going, oh, I don't like it. She was looking at the mirror like, no. This isn't cutting it. Like, I'm I'm I there is a look I am going for.
Speaker 3
And it needs to scream what
Speaker 6
Yeah. Because it didn't matter what she put on. She looked smoky.
Speaker 3
She looked fantastic.
Speaker 6
Matt, well, do you have anything to add to this of of
Speaker 0
Probably all inappropriate, but, I'll I'll just you. Listen. It's it's a scene, man. It's a special scene. Mhmm. We love it. We love it. I love her confidence. Mhmm. What I'll say in Schneur's defense on what he showed up in is where she if you remember the the episode before or whatever, when she was like, I'm gonna fuck this slut or take down this or whatever she I can't remember exactly her words on that. Was when he was talking about fixing a shower head or whatever it was, it was something so simple, so basic, and that was, like, the trigger moment. So I think him showing up just as he was, she had no expectations beyond that. So he was doing exactly what she, in her head, probably had already expectations of, and I don't know. I don't think he needed to do anything else. And she was on a mission. Good honor. Nothing wrong with that. She knew what she wanted to take him down. She was ready. There was no questions asked. I doubt that they even said a word to each other. So I
Speaker 6
There seems to be a phenomenon in, in Sudbury, though, of women coming to the front door of their homes and and disrobing in the open doorway.
Speaker 3
You know? That's a thing?
Speaker 0
Have you ever witnessed
Speaker 1
that out? There's there's unbelievably good looking tricks,
Speaker 6
apparently. And I have witnessed that as a pizza boy. You're it has happened to me once or twice, but, I thought that I thought it was because I was special. Apparently not. Victor, what do you say?
Speaker 4
I don't know. Is there anything else with it? So this guy, he's basically a Batman goon, that that, you know, shows up and you know, you know what? Would you
Speaker 0
say a Batman goon?
Speaker 4
Yeah. Yeah. Like, you know, like a secondary kind of character. Like it's faceless, nameless, useless, just there to be kind of, you know, used and and thrown away.
Speaker 4
And you know what what I'll say about this scene and why I appreciate it is because, you know, all through Letterkenny, we have to be exposed to Shorzy's butt the whole time. So it's nice to, you know, balance that out a little bit. So I appreciate that. Thank you. Thank you. For that.
Speaker 6
Dan, you already had some comments, but do you have any final comments?
Speaker 3
Oh, oh, I thought I already I just yeah. She's, she's a phenomenally hot woman, and I I love and and going back to the first, episode sorry. The the first, number ten, what the heck were we were doing? The gangster. When Nat was saying, she didn't get taken down, she took him down. Yeah. That is that's that scene. She took him down. She was the one that was like, yep. Come on. Here we go.
Speaker 0
And I Yeah. And I gotta quickly call it out on the I don't know who made the comment about there seems to be a lot of girls showing up at the door in their underwear. Jeff in the livestream's making sure to say, said I'm going to knock on a random door in Sudbury next month month. I'll let you know what happens. So
Speaker 4
Are you supposed to say trick or treat when you when you knock?
Speaker 6
No. You're supposed to say, do you need do your pipes need Snaking. Snaking.
Speaker 0
He's gonna test out the theory, so let us know what happens.
Speaker 6
Awesome is calling me out in livestream saying I'm lying about my pizza boy exploits. A, they weren't exploits. But, b, it was completely true. I still know what street the lady lived on, but every time I went to her door, she came to the door in in lingerie.
Speaker 3
You've had that problem with that time.
Speaker 4
And I can attest to that based on how Al drives and the reason he drives so erratically and so fast is because he had to drive away from those doors so quickly when their husbands came
Speaker 3
came to the door. Oh, my god.
Speaker 0
I think there's a whole Pornhub channel dedicated to that.
Speaker 3
So we used to have
Speaker 1
a renter. Make millions.
Speaker 3
We used to have a renter. And every time you took mail to the renter, she would show up in a towel. And not like a towel that covered everything either. It was like a very small little towel. And I was like, how many times has she done that? I think she's sending you a message. Maybe I should go deliver in the mail.
Speaker 6
Robbie's, coming to my defense. I full I got full on flashed when I delivered pizzas. It happens. Yes. That's right. Yeah.
Speaker 4
I got flashed on Yonge Street one time. It was by a homeless man.
Speaker 6
Okay. I was gonna
Speaker 1
say What happened?
Speaker 6
I don't think, Subway Santa Santa doesn't count.
Speaker 3
Subway Santa. Alright.
Speaker 6
Let's move on to the next clip.
Speaker 3
How you're jumping.
Speaker 2
Just sometimes when I get real frustrated,
Speaker 8
fucking trying not to. Maybe just cry my guy?
Speaker 2
No. No. No. It's just something fucking proactive.
Speaker 8
Behind the eight ball here.
Speaker 2
Yeah. Well, that's what happens when you don't set the tone.
Speaker 8
Jim's tried to the tone.
Speaker 11
They never set it.
Speaker 12
All you got is set the fucking tone.
Speaker 8
Goal sucks tonight. Won't let Goody
Speaker 2
off the hook. I don't expect
Speaker 8
them to show up in a third either.
Speaker 2
Well, I already played a fucking period between the sheets.
Speaker 8
They look like shit.
Speaker 8
Frank, you said it's somewhere else.
Speaker 2
Yeah. Probably in a box of zebra cakes.
Speaker 8
What do you wanna do? You tell me. Let's go to the supporting cast.
Speaker 9
we can do. Fish.
Speaker 2
Fish may never score again, Sanguinet.
Speaker 8
Exactly. No use for scores who don't score.
Speaker 2
Holy fuck, James. What happened?
Speaker 6
I thought it'd take a few to get inside and maybe he'd break his hand on my head.
Speaker 1
Lucky you didn't get knocked out.
Speaker 6
How many times have you been knocked out?
Speaker 2
Four or five. That's a lot of concussions. Never had a concussion. Paul Fish, you ready to be the hero? What? Paul? You just said I know what I said. You're gonna score us a fucking goal. What if I don't?
Speaker 8
You're cut. I'm cut. You used to score us a goal a game. How many did you get last game? Zero. And the game before that. Zero, and the game before that. Zero, and the game before that. Zero. No use for scores, you don't score. Sparsing goldfish.
Speaker 2
My man. Well, Fish, you scored the game winning goal, but your mom's real ugly. How's it feel?
Speaker 8
Pretty big smile for a guy who almost got cut.
Speaker 1
That was fucked up.
Speaker 2
Al didn't see you complaining when your teammates were mobbing you.
Speaker 2
when the fans were cheering your name.
Speaker 1
That wasn't cool.
Speaker 2
Won't see you complaining when you're getting your dinks sucked later tonight, or maybe I will. Or you don't want me to come watch her.
Speaker 1
Don't fuck with me like that again.
Speaker 2
Nice game, coach. I think it's pretty fucking
Speaker 6
one there is from season or episode three, setting the tone or set the tone. Chad.
Speaker 1
Yeah. I just like the idea of, like, hey. You gotta, like, score the fucking goal or you're just you're not on the team, which makes sense to do.
Speaker 1
But that's a smart move to do. And it's, like, it's good to see, like, Fish actually do something in this season, like because last season, he was one of the useless and, you know, now he's actually doing something about it. Now he's, like, pretty good. I did have you cut out, like, the main like, middle part, I think, who scores a goal Mhmm. There as well. I think it's is it good to use scores a goal or something?
Speaker 6
Or Yeah. I think so. Yeah.
Speaker 1
Or hit no. It's Hitchcock scores a goal. I had you cut it out there just to save time.
Speaker 1
Just kinda cut to just
Speaker 6
But he actually, that's the shot, I think, that where he made the the water bottle, like, fly. Yeah. We were sitting right beside behind that. Yeah. Yeah. Matt, what did you think of that scene?
Speaker 0
So first off, Sanguinet in that suit.
Speaker 0
Right? Secondly, there is some amazing background extras in this scene.
Speaker 0
So we have to No.
Speaker 1
I don't work. Most of them are great. There's one guy there that's kind of
Speaker 0
He wasn't actually in those shots that you could try to get.
Speaker 1
Some of the scenes, but he's kind of a piece of shit, I
Speaker 1
No Spectre. Clearly.
Speaker 0
The this and I I think we talked about this back when we covered it. This is one of my favorite sequences end to end. Like, how they the the whole plan and how they wrote this whole thing together, it goes full circle. And I absolutely love the build up, the payoff, and then the celebration of the end. I just it's a as much as it's kind of driven from a negative starting point, it's such a feel good, scene all around, the way it all plays out. So I just I I absolutely love this scene. So it's a great picture.
Speaker 4
Victor. Yes. I mean, this is the love letter to hockey. Right? I mean, this is this is what Kiso was envisioning when he wanted to make this show is is that everything else that's happening in this world of Shorzy is really supporting this. Right? This is this is the this is the passion that he has, and it's done so well, and, you know, so there's kind of kind of two layers to this. One layer is kind of for the for the non hockey fan, but enjoys a good good, well put together show, and appreciates good camerawork and appreciates good dialogue and stuff like that. But then if you're a hockey fan, then you get that extra layer Mhmm. Where you kind of appreciate the quality of the actual hockey, the quality of the of the shots, the quality of the, the the, choreography of it all.
Speaker 6
Right? Inside look in the in the locker room and stuff.
Speaker 4
Yeah. Yeah, just just everything. Like, I I don't know. It's just again, this is this encapsulates why this show is so good Mhmm. And and why it's so loved. Right.
Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah. I agree with Victor. Like, this this does show the the the workings of the the hockey team, like, the behind the scenes that you don't get to see. And this was sang Sanguinette's, first time kinda showing that Yeah. You know, it was him not being told what to do, but him saying what should be done And, stopping Shorzy in his tracks going, oh, yeah. Right. Let's do that.
Speaker 3
And and then putting it into to motion. Right? And it wasn't the the thing that Sanguinet would have felt comfortable doing the first the when he first took over that position, and, he's grown into it. And and he continues to grow into it. Right? Like, we see more and more him, not only, you know, making great decisions, but exceedingly.
Speaker 3
You know, exceeding them.
Speaker 3
So, yeah, it's a it's a it's a great growth on, that character and and and their role.
Speaker 6
My only comment here is if the Toronto Maple Leafs, cut every one every one of those scores who weren't scoring, they wouldn't be able to ice a team. But, get on get on fish.
Speaker 4
Hey. Hey. Don't say anything about the Leafs right now. Let's just keep going.
Speaker 1
Are they losing?
Speaker 6
Do I wanna ask? No.
Speaker 4
They're not. No. But let's not say anything. Just let's ignore it.
Speaker 3
We can just say that sure is the that Be quiet.
Speaker 4
Let's keep going. Fish
Speaker 3
his shirt off a little bit more in upcoming scenes.
Speaker 0
You got sports box. Here we go.
Speaker 2
Shoresy. You guys on a date? First date? Nice. Yep. Yeah. Yep. What the fuck do you think you're doing? What? What? Well, you stopped scoring a goal again, but you got lots of time for chit chats.
Speaker 8
Are you serious?
Speaker 2
Wish I had more time for chit chats.
Speaker 11
Sure. See, I'm third on
Speaker 1
the team in points.
Speaker 12
How many did you
Speaker 2
score last game? Zero. Zero.
Speaker 11
In the game before that? Zero. In the game before that? Zero. In the game before that? Zero.
Speaker 2
But you got lots of time for chitchats.
Speaker 10
How's goody? What happened
Speaker 2
to senior whale shit hockey?
Speaker 2
senior whale shit hockey.
Speaker 0
Now it's something different.
Speaker 8
Now we have a chance to do something that's never been done before. Think about it, fish. You wanna be the best team in the league this year, or do you wanna be the best team in the league ever?
Speaker 2
What the fuck are you doing? By yourself? Yeah. In the middle of the afternoon.
Speaker 8
Is that not okay?
Speaker 2
Well, depends who you ask.
Speaker 0
What do you mean?
Speaker 2
Well, if it was me sitting there eating solo paninis
Speaker 9
in the middle of the
Speaker 2
afternoon, I might be a little bit worried. Worried about what? That I'm a fucking loser. For should just got this to go. Thought you'd still be by yourself eating paninis.
Speaker 8
Well, I'll tell you what, Sean.
Speaker 2
That's alright. So, you know, people are saying you're acting weird.
Speaker 2
Boys are always weird. You're right, Shorzy. You know, solo paninis in the middle of the fuck on Michaels. They're in a day early, It's a bit overkill. Senior whales should hockey.
Speaker 6
And that was from episode two. Chad, talk about this scene.
Speaker 1
I I just love Michaels in the background Mhmm. Just eating the panini and then getting, like, super serious there about being the best team ever. It's just hilarious. And then yeah. Victor? And then, I got I got I'm not done yet.
Speaker 6
Tanya's supposed to punch me every time I interrupt
Speaker 1
Thank you. And then yeah. And then the the girl that the the girl that fishes on the date with asking about Getty is still kinda fucking.
Speaker 6
That that is awesome. Are you Alright. Victor.
Speaker 4
yes. It's that's a great scene. Again, Michael's acting like Tannis in that one, because I think there's a couple of Letterkenny moments where she's done that, pumps, you know, hiding in the background and starts talking. I think the, the what's that episode? The with the doctor? Oh, prostate? Prostate. Yeah. Yeah. Prostate. It was that one, and there there's another one. But anyway, yeah, so good. So, so good. Michael's, you know, giving the Yoda advice and whatnot. It's a great scene.
Speaker 3
Yeah. You you I was just waiting for Michaels. Like, that you know that moment's coming and, from watching it before. Yeah. It's just it's it's, it's perfect.
Speaker 6
So I'm wondering whether Shorzy has ever had a meal by himself because, apparently, that makes you a loser. So I don't understand that.
Speaker 1
I I guess I'm a loser. So
Speaker 4
In Sudbury only.
Speaker 6
Only in Sudbury? Okay. Yeah. Like
Speaker 3
It it really makes me wanna go for a panini. Yeah. I I'm surprised we're not having a panini
Speaker 1
I I'd have one right now.
Speaker 6
It's a fun scene, but I I I I especially like the part, like, when when the American team starts running by and Shorsey goes outside and and like that's when things started getting serious there when the the it was in doubt. Like, they they, you know, they're on this streak. They're about to be the greatest team ever and take everything for granted except, wait. No. There's a team here that actually cares about this and and might be might be a threat. Matt? And
Speaker 4
and and and just one more thing. Like, of course, like Fish, you know, the prequel to the sequel with him, you know, how many, you know, goals how many how many goals did you score to get it last game and the game before that, and then you hear that again the next episode. So Yeah. Matt. Mhmm.
Speaker 0
Yeah. So first, slight judgment on your list. You probably should have played those clips in reverse, Jack.
Speaker 1
No. See see, I like this one better, though,
Speaker 0
because Michael's This is my turn as well. Fucking
Speaker 1
is is this my list? Gonna better get your own fucking list, Kai.
Speaker 6
Well, if you don't like his ordering here, you're gonna hate his ordering.
Speaker 0
Oh, I know. I'm already expecting more. But no. No. So this this scene first, let's talk about the Panini. A, do you think Michaels or McDonald ate the Panini Panini after? Like, I hope they didn't waste that thing, because he had his hands all up in that shit, and they do pretty quick takes. I imagine that was probably his lunch or nothing, is how I like to play it out. Other than I take great issue with the comment of eating alone. So it was just yesterday that I crushed a veal cutlet California sandwich to myself, by myself, in my living room, and it was a great moment of my week. So fuck you, Charlie.
Speaker 4
Well, you're you're you're you're quite the loser then.
Speaker 0
I will take that every day. You know what? When you have when you when especially, you crush something of that size by your face, there's no judgment around you. It's just like you just do it, and you and you enjoy every minute, and that's it. So I will do it again and again. Thirdly, I love this scene. I like the from a production perspective, I love the ability to create so many different energies and tones in a scene across a short period of time from the laughs at the beginning, then the serious nature of Michaels, and then the that when they step outside and the the different like, the the more handheld approach with the music shift and then the energy of the team going by. I think there's a real it's a challenging thing to do effectively, but they do it really well. So, like, the how they cut that altogether. Mhmm. You feel that emotion right at
Speaker 0
I think that's right at the end of the episode too. Right? It goes into black right after that. Yeah. It's just it's a really well done moment and end as well. Mhmm. So enjoyed it.
Speaker 6
So on live stream, Rob's saying Robbie's saying, we all know what number one the number one scene would be. So I don't know if you if you guys know which one. So in the livestream, why don't you,
Speaker 6
fill us in what you think the number one scene is, and then when we get to it, we'll see who was right. But, let's play the next one.
Speaker 14
God is good. God is great. We thank him for our food. Amen. Amen.
Speaker 6
This is the longer of the scene, so sit back.
Speaker 3
Should we be saying a prayer
Speaker 5
for the Sudbury blueberry bulldogs?
Speaker 6
They don't need it.
Speaker 14
Oh, well, give them a cheers then instead. Now I don't wanna mention winning because I don't wanna jinx it. So I will just say, you don't wanna lose to the Yanks.
Speaker 14
Ed, welcome, Mikey.
Speaker 2
So, Mikey. Here we go.
Speaker 2
wrong with just Mike? Waffle.
Speaker 14
I like it. It's fun.
Speaker 2
I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with it.
Speaker 2
No saying Mikey Tyson doesn't have quite the same weight to it.
Speaker 9
You go by Shorzy, idiot. That was aggressive.
Speaker 3
Why are you telling me?
Speaker 9
You wanna see aggressive?
Speaker 2
I think it might be time for you to go use some pot, Free.
Speaker 6
Chillax. No one here uses pot, if your parents
Speaker 2
Maybe not anyone here right
Speaker 9
this second, but smells like Free was using her car before. Bro. Shut up. Me? Him.
Speaker 14
So what do you like to do for fun, Mikey?
Speaker 15
He likes esports.
Speaker 2
Esports? Video games, dad.
Speaker 6
He likes video games.
Speaker 15
Oh. It's legit waffle. There's, like, tournaments and leagues.
Speaker 6
Mitch Miner owns a league.
Speaker 15
Esports are, like, really popular.
Speaker 2
Doesn't make him respectable.
Speaker 3
So how many people play in your league, Mikey?
Speaker 2
Yeah, Mikey. What's the concussion protocol in your league? What color are most of the kids? What's the trophy you play for the fucking Reese peanut butter cup?
Speaker 6
I heard Mikey's the hardest working player in this league.
Speaker 2
Hardest worker? Only thing these guys play through is having to fucking pee from drinking fucking
Speaker 2
only do it because I love you, Kayla. He gets vetted just like everybody who wants to date my family. Amen. Except for me since she was already in the family.
Speaker 9
It might be. Speaking of embarrassing, why don't you ask Shorzy about the time his ninth grade girlfriend came running into my room crying because he couldn't get it up?
Speaker 2
I didn't wanna get it up. Oh? Mikey, if she saw that big dank boy, she'd really be crying.
Speaker 2
I was just looking out for her.
Speaker 2
She'd never be the same after that.
Speaker 2
Kids got her whole life ahead of her.
Speaker 14
Was that Sarah?
Speaker 2
That's somebody's daughter. You know?
Speaker 2
I said you think you want it. You got no idea what you're getting yourself into here.
Speaker 9
Who knows where she'd be today? Don't feel too bad for him though. Looks like everything was working just fine on our family vacation in Cuba. Free. When he was making out with a girl that was a guy?
Speaker 2
That's the fucking hottest guy I ever seen.
Speaker 2
she was hot too.
Speaker 9
A lot can happen after ten beers, Waffle? I thought she was a girl.
Speaker 14
She was a real hot guy. Good lips.
Speaker 2
Dad. Those gals pay good money to get themselves looking like that, so you can't be too shocked if they get the odd one by you.
Speaker 6
I don't think it's fair if they don't tell you upfront.
Speaker 2
And really, good on them.
Speaker 14
I'll tell you who this whole thing is most unfair to is girls who already look
Speaker 1
a little bit like guys. Dad.
Speaker 14
I'm just saying the way things are going, if she looks a little bit like a guy, you've got in mind she probably really is one.
Speaker 6
Time to pull a u e.
Speaker 2
Anyone else you got free? This is batting practice.
Speaker 5
Go Bulldogs. Go get them. Yeah?
Speaker 13
too. Okay. Okay.
Speaker 2
Love you, bro. Love you too.
Speaker 9
Hey. Good luck. Go get that record.
Speaker 7
We will. W, baby. W. W.
Speaker 6
Don't leave me down, boy. We
Speaker 2
won't. Don't forget
Speaker 0
what I taught you.
Speaker 2
If you can't win, don't hurt you.
Speaker 0
So proud of you, son. How
Speaker 8
So, so proud of you.
Speaker 14
Are you crying? I love you.
Speaker 2
I'm glad we're all so close.
Speaker 5
Hey. Success isn't success unless you're so mature.
Speaker 13
Don't think anything is fine, but I want you to know
Speaker 6
See? Front door. Undress it.
Speaker 0
Yeah. We gotta go back to Sudbury.
Speaker 6
So, yeah, there you go. Another scene where a woman undresses in in a
Speaker 3
And another scene where a guy closes the door with a straight face. Like, how are you not beaming from ear to ear? Like, that's cool.
Speaker 0
Play it cool, man.
Speaker 1
You you gotta be cool.
Speaker 3
Come on. Shell shock of, oh
Speaker 0
my god. Jumping up and down and boobies. It's not attractive. Right? It's what they're told.
Speaker 6
It happens all the time. That's the the longest, scene we have, but, a great scene, Chad. Why did you Mhmm.
Speaker 1
I I just like seeing the Shore family together. Mhmm. And I wanted to cut it at the, like, at the end there where where they all after the hugs and stuff like that. But it's like, you just you need the full scene to play out in that moment. And, like, there's If
Speaker 6
you made me cut it before she takes her shirt off, I would have rioted.
Speaker 1
Fair enough. Fair enough. Fair enough. But yeah. And I just like I just like seeing, like, the short family together. I I like their dynamic, and that that's a dynamic I wanna see more of in season in future seasons. So k.
Speaker 3
I I love it. It was a long scene, but there was so many different components that one scene, like, you couldn't watch one scene without knowing what happened the scene before. And that family, sitting at the table and their their dynamics and the conversation, and it's like, woah. What kind of family are we is is Shorzy from? And it was so, it was it was so needed because it it it we understand Shorzy that much more and then leaving and the the love, between all of them. Like, they're they're throwing, all of these, you know, hits at each other And, and normal any other family, situation dynamic would been like, okay. I'm out of here, and I never wanna see them again. And it would have been a fight, right
Speaker 3
Of I can't believe they said that, but not this family. It was like hugs and tears and love.
Speaker 6
Our family would be like, see you at Thanksgiving. Their family would be like, see you Sunday. Speaker 3
Yeah. Like, and good luck with the game and, like, the love that is there. Mhmm. And it's it's perfect. And then, of course, yeah, Laura Moore at, the end and and the look that they're giving each other. And then she just come on in. There you go. Speaker 6
I've got many notes about this. I'm I'm sure you guys will cover, but I'll just have one. I'll I'll I'll say one here that I'm sure you didn't cover. And, of course, Shorzy is a soup slurper. I mean, come on. The guy has so many, like, you know, negative and annoying traits, and just add another one to the list. Speaker 3
Sloop, soup, sloop. Sloop, surper. Speaker 6
Yeah. Yeah. Watch that scene again. He slurps his soup. Anyway, that's a great scene. And, yeah, the the dynamics of the Shore family, I've always said this like I hope if this show goes on a long time, I hope they mind those those relationships, you know, for for other story lines because I think it could be a lot of fun. Matt? Speaker 0
Yeah. I mean, I love the dynamic with these guys as well. I think it was such even in season one, I know there was some mixed opinions on that, family reunion scene. But all in, I think it was such an important part of the story to tell as they hold back the layers of Shorzy. So when they brought them back for season two, I thought it was necessary, and I really enjoyed the scene. It just shows where it came from and why I mean, a lot of even the bantery is that it's across the whole family. They all just shot after shot after shot and with surrounded with nothing but love. So Mhmm. Yeah. I love these I love these scenes. I want more of them. Speaker 4
Victor? So first, quick pause just to let our all of our friends in the Boston area know that, we're going to game seven. Speaker 6
Is the game over? Speaker 4
Yeah. Game's over, Leafs went two to one. Everybody thought it was two nothing, but Boston scored at nineteen fifty nine. So, and I'm happy they did so that the, so they don't kind of sit on their laurels thinking they gotta shout out, so it's fine, it's two to one, we're going back to Boston for game seven, and Toronto has nothing to lose because they're a dead team anyway. Speaker 4
this is all on Boston. Speaker 6
Because Matthews didn't play tonight. Speaker 6
Do you put him in in the next game? Speaker 4
Matthews is not gonna be in in the next game. It's it's whatever injury he has, he's not gonna come back in for for game seven. Speaker 6
If he was good to go, would you put him in? Speaker 4
Yeah. Of course, you'd put him in. One hundred percent, you're Speaker 6
just gonna be won the last two games without them. Speaker 0
Without them. Yeah. Speaker 4
Yeah. Yeah. Eventually, you and that eventually, you're gonna lose. Uh-huh. Look. Look. Listen. Out of their last, eleven no. Twelve games, Out of their twelve games, they've scored more than two goals Mhmm. Once. Speaker 4
They've scored more than two. This is the second highest scoring team in a regular season. Speaker 4
Last twelve games in the playoffs, they scored more than two goals once, and that was when they scored three. And today, they barely scored two. They scored the sec anyway, all I'm saying is they need him if he can play, but I don't want him at thirty percent or fifty percent. I mean, I need him at a hundred percent. So if he's not because because you have to remember, if they win the series, if they beat Boston game seven, they still have to win twelve more games to win the Stanley Cup. Speaker 4
Right? So you have to you have to, you know, make sure that he's healthy in case they continue to do well. Okay. They're gonna be playing Florida. They lost to them in five games last year. They need to be smart. Speaker 6
Okay. We're losing Tanya. Do you Speaker 1
remember I'm doing wait. We're do you Speaker 6
remember the real the season? This is Speaker 0
a hockey show. It's so it's alright. Speaker 1
Wait. We're talking about real hockey. I'm surprised she's not crocheting right Speaker 0
No sports balls. Speaker 4
Yeah. Okay. Alright. Alright. Okay. Back to the show. So that was that that's the quick update for everybody in Boston. We're come coming Speaker 0
free. Boston. Nice. Speaker 4
Alright. So, this scene I think I was one of the ones that was outspoken about not really being happy with the scene because the two story lines that they kind of used were weak, and I I felt that when you you bring them all together, you do better with the writing, Like, you're so talented at writing everywhere else. Like, I thought they'd let us down a little bit. And, also, just for all the Mikeys out there, one of the best players on the LA Kings is Mikey Anderson. He's got a brother, Joey Anderson, who is on the Leafs for a little while Speaker 4
And on the Devils. But, anyway, Mikey Anderson, tough guy, and his name is Mikey. Mhmm. And everybody calls him Mikey, and there's nothing wrong with the name monkey Mikey. So I just wanna kinda put that out there. Speaker 6
Okay. Robbie wants to know why a New Jersey fan would care about this. But, anyway, we're gonna move on to the next scene. Here we Speaker 5
go. Number four. Speaker 10
Well, no broken bones. Speaker 2
They still got all this teeth. Then what's the problem? I've come to tell you your window's closing. Speaker 10
Oh, finally seduce Dennis? Speaker 2
I wouldn't even know what to do with her. Speaker 3
That is a woman. Speaker 2
I'd make a fucking fool of myself. Speaker 10
So who's stealing you? Speaker 2
I'll be attending gay night at the Colson tonight. Speaker 2
I'm told, if I'd like to. I could fuck some dudes up the ass. Speaker 10
Ever done that before? No. I think your window's closer. Speaker 2
Listen, I'm told there's pretty good time to be had at these things if I'm up for it. But maybe if you come down, I'll keep Speaker 2
about me. Maybe? I've already started drinking, so it's a Speaker 6
Alright. That's from, episode four, Shorzy at Lauren Speaker 3
Watson. Wait. Wait. You stopped it too soon. I need to see him dancing. Speaker 6
You're gonna have to watch it. Speaker 4
think it's there. We we Speaker 1
had I I didn't wanna use I don't I wanted to use the full scene too of them dancing and stuff like that. That would've been just super long. So Speaker 4
Just just watch the teaser. Speaker 6
Yeah. Wait till the teaser is gonna be out. It's gonna it's awesome. You see Shorzi doing the chicken wing. Chad, this scene. Speaker 1
Again, I just like seeing Shorzy and Laura together. Speaker 1
But what more can I say? Speaker 6
That's all you need to say because you're right. These scenes are always so well written, so much Speaker 1
What more can I say say for the next couple of scenes or next couple of picks, I should say? Speaker 6
Yeah. You're giving it all away. Great chemistry between the two actors, for sure. And, yeah, that front door got got a lot of use this season. Matt? Speaker 0
Yeah. It's it's so there's a pattern here, obviously. Chad, I love you. I I Speaker 0
I'm not mad at it, but I like it. I'm curious on Laura's immediate reaction when she called out Tannis there and where that story goes. Like, they obviously know each other, but I assume that they just knew each other from Speaker 6
Tannis. What a heck is that? She says Speaker 0
Oh, Tannis. I I retract all that. I heard Dennis, and I didn't remember that. Speaker 4
Oh, what what what Dennis. Speaker 3
What did he From the panel. Yeah. The women. Speaker 0
Oh. I'm on my own world right now. There you go. I heard Speaker 6
But but co coincidentally, though, the actress is Tio Horn's older sister who plays Tannis. So it might have it might have yeah. Speaker 0
That that I didn't know. Mhmm. Here we go. Yeah. I, a hundred percent, heard Tannis in my head. I didn't think that was relevant, but it's a good scene. Good job, Chad. Speaker 4
Okay. I'm amused that we were able to connect the dots and make make his comment relevant. So that's that's excellent. Speaker 0
What I appreciate is what you Speaker 6
guys what I'm here for as host. It's my job. What did you think of the scene? Speaker 4
Yeah. It was short and sweet. And, again, just another great demonstration of the chemistry that they have and the great writing. Just again, the great writing, and it's like, where were those, writing skills in the previous scene? But, anyway, I digress. Speaker 6
Move on, Ginger. Move on. Ten. Speaker 3
I I love how, Laura hold holds her own. Right? She's just like, him him with the cute little what's today's reason that I knock on your door? Oh, yeah. I'm gonna tell you that your window's closing because I'm going to, to to hook up with a with a dude tonight unless you come and save me. Like, it's just so bloody cute and and that he's already been drinking and that he needs saving. And, her just giving it right back to him going, well, I think your your window's closed. Have you oh, have you done that before? Like, it's just so perfectly written. And so the the chemistry, again, we we've, repeating ourselves, but, it's worth repeating because it's just so damn good. Speaker 6
Well, and speaking of repeating ourselves, here we go with the next clip. Speaker 0
No. I'm really Sit on the stoop. No. Door again. Speaker 10
You're at my house. Yeah. You fucking psycho. Politely knocking. You must have some liquid courage. Nope. You're not drunk. Speaker 10
Okay. Cool. I honestly can't wait. Do you really need to inhale and exhale like that? Speaker 2
It's not success what? Speaker 10
Isn't what? Success unless you have someone to share it with? Can I start over? You're saying you're successful. Yeah. Speaker 10
the best team in the league, I'm assuming. Speaker 2
Best team in the league ever. Speaker 10
Not yet. But you're saying it isn't success unless you have someone to share it with? Yeah. So what does that even mean? Speaker 2
I'd love to tell you about my day. Speaker 10
Would you? Yeah. What on? Speaker 2
I'd love to see if I can somehow make your life easier. Speaker 10
I almost believe you, dude. But? You're a slut. Speaker 2
I know you fucked one or two before. Speaker 10
That's how I know sluts talk. Speaker 2
What's it gonna take? What do you got? Well, I'd tongue kiss a toaster to vacuum your fucking car. Speaker 2
Yeah. I'd walk the Kings Way with my pants at my ankles to empty your dishwasher. Now we're talking empty your dishwasher so bad you have no idea. It's like I had Speaker 10
a big sexy for me. Speaker 2
Alright. I wasn't thinking I was coming in or anything. I wasn't hoping or anything. Speaker 10
My kid's asleep in there. Speaker 2
Yeah. I don't wanna mess that up or anything. Speaker 10
You wanna go in the garage? Speaker 3
Yeah. So you'll think Speaker 10
you'd come knock on my door anytime you're half cut, and I wanna crawl on top of you? Speaker 2
You are such a fucking good time woman. Later. I'm gonna be thinking about you. Speaker 2
And I usually prefer the front door on a first date, but you're the boss, Applesauce. Speaker 6
You're the boss, Applesauce. Oh, man. Yeah. I love in the livestream, Casey says, you can tell Chad's in was in love while making this list. Speaker 6
Hey. Yeah. Talk about this one, Chad. Like, do we need to or should I just replay, you know, your last few comments? Speaker 1
I mean, honestly, you probably just moved in number seven. Speaker 6
We'll get there in time. There's a process here I'm following. Alright? Speaker 1
But, no. I I again, I just love seeing them together. Speaker 1
This is just a great scene. I I like how he knocks on the doors. Like, I'm just gonna do this opening line of it's it's it's it's not successful unless it's somebody I share it with. Yeah. And then that's gonna work. That's gonna work. The confidence that he had of, hey. Yeah. She's we're gonna we're gonna do it tonight. And then she's like, what? What? Speaker 6
What's not? Yeah. That was great. Matt. Speaker 0
Yeah. I don't know what else to say about these two. I just like the they're they're awesome, man. Like, the the the dialogue is so on so in tune. I just love them. I don't know. I really we we we're going we're doing it over. That's why you said let's play it back. Yeah. I just you can't get enough of them. I can't wait to see what they do with season three. Speaker 0
With these two, now they've crossed that barrier. I I suspect we're gonna see a different version of this whole dynamic. Mhmm. But I'm excited. Speaker 4
Yeah. Yeah. Not not much to add. We had a day scene and a night scene, and and it's like, you know, in in the same place, and it's just again, the chemistry continues, the act thing is really is really good. The writing is really good, and and, obviously, one of us can't get enough of it. Speaker 3
I think there is a lot Speaker 3
Yeah. I think there is still a lot to say about this because, it really shows that that they show so much of the chemistry even when they're not speaking. Like, when she said, you know, you wanna go in the garage right now, because her kid was in the house, and that pause, there was, like, such a long moment of silence where all they were doing was acting with their body language and their facial expressions and, you know, the camera panning from her to him to him to her. Is like, no, dude. That's not what's happening. Like, it was just it was it was brilliant. It was brilliant. Speaker 6
I love it. Is going, what can I say not to to not fuck this up? What do I say? What do I say? Speaker 6
Maybe you don't say anything. Well, no. That was the wrong answer as well. Speaker 3
Anyway But I love to, but, like, that's what a woman wants to hear and and and take notes. Like like that Speaker 3
That underwrite like that I Speaker 6
emptied your dishwasher today, Speaker 3
Did you under You weren't Speaker 6
here though, but yeah. I did it. Speaker 3
Is that an euphemism? Like think that I wanna I wanna do this just to be close to you. Speaker 6
That's what we're calling you. Speaker 3
Admire you, just to to to show you how much I I I love you or I like you. Right? I think it's it's it's so it's so I love it. I love it. I love it. I'm smiling. My cheeks hurt. It's lovely. Speaker 6
The only thing I have to say in addition to this scene is, this one's, I think, the first door scene, but it's later on in your list because I agree with you. It is the best of the door scenes in terms of the writing and the acting and everything. This is the best of the of the the three door scenes if you count the one where she strips and they go upstairs. Alright. But, yeah, let's let's move on to the next one. Speaker 10
You're surprisingly lucid from this point Speaker 2
And you wanna mess Speaker 6
Relabel this episode. Speaker 10
you still do it? Speaker 10
I'm not right now. I'm talking to you. Speaker 2
Let's get some fucking Indian cuisine. Speaker 10
So why do you still do it? Speaker 10
You got a decade on most Speaker 2
Bob knows spring chicken. Speaker 10
But you're the first to the rink, the last to leave. You're the hardest worker out there. Speaker 2
You gotta set the tone. Speaker 10
You work even harder off Speaker 10
The calendar, all the promos. Speaker 2
Jory fucking Jordan? Speaker 10
Now you're sitting outside a gay bar essentially the last one to leave your team fundraiser. Speaker 2
I think Hitch looked a lot gayer than Frankie. Speaker 10
All this for senior whale shit hockey? Speaker 2
be senior whale shit hockey. Now it's something different. Speaker 10
So why do you do Speaker 2
only place I can be me. Speaker 10
What do you mean by that? Speaker 2
I mean, it's the last place in the world I can be me. Speaker 10
You Basically, just repeated yourself. Speaker 2
I'll tell you a story. So I'm at the bar one night. A guy pushes up on my girl, so I'm losing my mind. Speaker 10
You tried to fight him? Speaker 2
I tried to sucker him, hurt him before he could hurt me. But either way, as a hockey player, I thought I was doing the right thing. Speaker 10
Am I punching someone when they weren't looking? Speaker 2
In hockey, if someone disrespects you or your teammates, you can flatten them. One way or another, you get them. And when you do, everybody loves it. The coaches, teammates, fans are all cheering. Everybody's all for it. And at the bar that night, no one was cheering. The guy thought I was an idiot, and the girl thought I was a loser. That's the real world. So even though I'm at the age where half my hair is on the fucking shower floor, I'm gonna keep going to the rink. That's where I can be me. Yeah? Hell, yeah. Fuck Speaker 10
Wanna see your cab? Speaker 2
I walk from here. Speaker 10
It's my place. What are you doing? Speaker 2
I can't. What? Gotta go home. Why? Accountability. Speaker 6
Alright. That weird cut you see there is because that scene there stops in, episode five and continues in episode six. So, Chuck wanted me to play the two parts there. But, Speaker 0
You know what I saw? It went when it kinda had that weird bubble, like, a picture was Waynesworth. Speaker 6
Yeah. Exactly. Chad. Speaker 1
I feel like you had to, like, include both scenes. Mhmm. Like, it just makes it just makes sense to have them both there. And, again, I just thought, what what more do I need to say? I just love them together. Alright. They're just so great together. So Speaker 4
Yeah. It's good. And, you know, again, you you this is the one of the few scenes where you get the peek behind the curtains, right, in terms of his origin story and why he has broken the way he has broken and whatnot. So so you get a little bit of that. You get the the the more of the chemistry between them, and then you get the, bait and switch as well at the end where he says he's got, you know, accountability and then what happens afterwards. But, yeah. It's a good scene. Speaker 3
Yeah. Yeah. To see what his, what his thought process is on, like, how how he feels about hockey and and and and, the reason why he does it all. I don't know. Again, I don't feel like I would be going, oh, yeah. Let's go. Like, I yes. He shows his vulnerability, but, to me, a person that can't, sort out, what to do in in social, Speaker 4
like, setting? So wait a sec. So so if you're walking down the street and you see a wounded animal, you're not gonna help it? Speaker 6
By sleeping with it? What are you what what point are you trying to make their victim? Speaker 3
But I don't need to sleep with it. You know? I don't know. Speaker 4
I feel like she feels sorry Speaker 0
What kind of anime? Speaker 3
even need to feel sorry for like, I I again, like, that I would be like, oh, dude's got some issues he's need to work through, and I don't need that as part of my my I don't need that as my everyday thing. But, anyways, I don't know. That's me. I would be like, red flag. Yeah. Speaker 4
Yeah. She wants to nurse them back to health. Speaker 6
I yeah. I like this scene. I can add more to this other than just, yes, it's Shorzy and Laura again. I mean, yes, we learn what makes Shorzy tick. I think this is a great scene to learn more about that. I even, you know, more so than the the the Shore family scenes. But it also kinda sets up what I think is gonna be probably a prime storyline in in season three. When, you know, he's been playing he's, like, a decade older than all the other players. Like, he's getting to the end of his hockey career, and now we're gonna see him, like, dealing with that, dealing with aging out of something that he loves so dearly, and and that's been such a big part of his life. So in the first season in the first teaser of season three, there's, like, a really quick throwaway line when Shorze is chirping the other player on that Italian team, and he says, why don't you give the kids a turn or something like that? So I feel like they're hitting on that again. I feel like that's where the story's going with Shorzy. So we'll see. But, like, this seems to be the introduction to that idea. And, Matt? Speaker 0
Yeah. I think I think you're spot on. I think a lot of the season two was starting to set some of that tone. Speaker 0
So I completely agree. I like this scene for the character aspects of it, especially in Shorzy. At the end there, they tell the whole accountability thing. I don't think anyone saw that reaction coming or would assume that that wasn't coming. I think that says leads to where his head's at and something he's been chasing and hoping for for so long to be able to say, you know, not now. Like Yeah. I'm finally in. Here's my window. But no. And and I think even follow-up is her her reaction, if I recall, like, she's accepting of that reaction. Right? And I think that speaks, waves for both of them and their characters in in this whole situation. Speaker 6
So, I mean, it goes further to show his dedication to the team and being a team player. Because up until now, we've seen all these scenes where he is he is, like, hitting on her so hard. Mhmm. So the fact that he's saying no, But Yeah. Then then it kinda Speaker 1
But then then he Speaker 6
throws out the window by by saying yes later anyway. But, anyway, we'll we'll move on to that. Now before we get to your number one, Chad did have an honorable mention that will I'm gonna throw in right now. Speaker 5
Honorable mention. Speaker 0
Was there more Laura Moore scenes? Speaker 6
Yeah. So here we have a scene of, Palmer. But behind Palmer, there's a bunch of beautiful people in the stands. Speaker 0
I saw those background extras. Speaker 6
Look. Look. Look. Look. It's Robbie and Adrian and Aaron and Joshua. Speaker 12
Jimmy. Come on, Jimmy. Come on, Jimmy. Look. Speaker 1
Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. Look. It's the Speaker 6
Ugly Fomber takes another gym down, but behind the bench, we have Tanya, we have Adrian, there's Victor. Speaker 1
Look at that guy. Speaker 6
Look at that guy. And then the scene where Fish finally scores. There's some great acting happening in the stands. Speaker 1
Yeah. A good acting Speaker 0
upset I got at one point? Yeah. It's great. Speaker 1
Yeah. It's great acting in the background. I you know, I had to include this. Like, I I wanted to put it in the top, like, ten somewhere, but it was just like there's there's actual scenes in the show that that makes sense to have in the show. It's good to have it as, like, a bonus one as well. Speaker 6
We appreciate that. And that is from episode three, Set the Tone Speaker 6
Where we were extras in in the in the crowd. Speaker 3
I saw a very concerned mama bear in the in the crowd there. I think there was a mama bear. Speaker 6
Yeah. Because Jim got got beat. Speaker 3
Somebody was getting beat up. Yeah. And there was some concern. There was some concern. Speaker 6
Those. What do you think of this, honorable mention, Dan? Speaker 3
Exactly what I just said. Alright. Oh my god. The memories and the flashback of being there. Like, this whole thing, just it's been a while since, I've watched any of the Shorzy, episodes, and it's just it's it's it's just such a flashback, and I wanna go and experience it all over again because it was it's just it fills me with so much happiness, and, it's just it's beautiful. Thank you for adding that, Chad. Speaker 6
Yeah. Thanks, bud. It was, it's great to see, and and we're gonna get more of those flashbacks in in the next few weeks because, Sudbury tourism is putting out finally putting out the video footage of our of our time in Sudbury, and I can't wait to see more of that. So if anyone here hasn't subscribed yet to the Discover sub Sudbury YouTube channel, please do so you can follow along with us. I don't know the cadence for these. I don't know if they're gonna drop one a week or something, but, apparently, there's five parts to it. And, do you Speaker 4
Do you know when it's dropped when the first one's dropped? Speaker 6
No idea. No idea. Okay. So, they didn't say anything. I just, you saw what I saw, which was the first post on on Instagram. So I'm hoping it's, like, once a week, and and I'm hoping they're longer than just thirty seconds. But, anyway, I'm wondering if they're gonna show us meeting Jared, if that's part of one of the vignettes. But there's a lot Speaker 0
of anxious and excited to see what comes out. Speaker 4
This is so fun. Yeah. Speaker 0
It's Well, and the only reason I think they they and I know we'll probably talk about this in a minute, but the only reason I think that's a possibility is because even the way they launched the teaser, it said follow the produce stand podcast Speaker 0
As they venture Sudbury and on as fans of this. So they're not hiding the fact that we are a podcast and we're fans and Speaker 0
Like, so they could very likely incorporate some of that stuff. So it'll be Speaker 6
Well, because they they they recorded so many side interviews and stuff like that. I kept on saying they're doing something more. There's there's something else happening here. So, it seems like this was the plan all along to do kind of like a, yeah, I can't wait. I can't wait to see what these are are gonna be. But the first teaser, is it features, Matt prominently and, talking about our venture up there, and we're sitting in nowhere having breakfast. It was a lot of fun. Speaker 0
Yeah. I I love that they kept that one cut that I swore in as well. Yeah. I remember doing that, and then I said to Ryan, I'm like, wait. I probably couldn't swear. I I'll do that again. And I read again, and then, of course, they just bleeped out me saying, fuck. And I'm like, ah, there we go. There's my there's my moment. Speaker 6
Ryan's a pro. He took the first take because that was the true take. Speaker 0
And I was wildly hungover too with that. I was just I was much more I looked more composed than I felt. Speaker 6
Alright. So before we get to your number one pick, I asked the folks in the livestream what they think the number one pick's gonna be. Awesome. Thought it might be Shorzy on Laura's porch, which one? In episode five, as the number one scene, so I think she's probably talking about the the the one where he finally got to go inside or no. The window's closing. The window's closing. Yeah. So, no, that's not the one, because that's already been kicked out. Casey thinks that Shores is looking at the kid playing the recorder during the national anthem, So it could still be that one, because we haven't seen that. I love how angry he gets. Like, he's, like, so Shorzi's, like, livid at at this poor attempt at the anthem. And, are there any others here? The whole anyway, so just go around the the the horn, Victor. Can you think of a scene maybe that it could be? Speaker 4
Wow. I mean, there's so many that like, there's so many chirp scenes that we haven't like, I don't think he I don't think he selected a single chirp scene. Right? So, like, like, one of the, when he's talking about that that kid, the the interview interview kid Speaker 6
Oh, yeah. The Jory interviews. Yeah. Speaker 4
Yeah. Like, there's so many so many Speaker 1
funny Those are some good scenes. Yeah. Speaker 6
They're they're fun. Speaker 4
So it's prob I'm guessing it's not gonna be that, but that's where I would have gone. Speaker 6
Dan, what do you think, or what what should it be? Speaker 3
Well, I can see your your list, so Speaker 6
Stop looking at my Speaker 3
Not that I know what that means. Speaker 3
Not not that I know what that is. Speaker 6
Yeah. You know what it is. Well No. Speaker 6
Anyway, I can't guess because I know what it is, but, Matt, do you what do you think it Speaker 0
should be? Just seeing that the tone of this love story that Chad's telling, I'm wondering if it's the Love. Probably say if if my memory serves me, was it the last episode or something when all the ladies start arriving at the arena to Speaker 1
That's a good guess. Speaker 0
Share him on? Like, that do you remember what I'm talking about? It? Speaker 4
mean the ladies that arrive, like, way after Speaker 0
Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. You had real beef Speaker 1
That's a good that's a good guess there. Alright. Speaker 6
You know what? That. This is a long, clip for the last clip. So let's play it, and we'll see if, we'll see who is right. Here we go. Speaker 0
There's a pattern Speaker 7
here. Number one. Speaker 3
Oh, I love this song. Speaker 6
Matt's like, yeah. There's there's Lawrence. Speaker 6
At least she got there early in that favor, Victor. Speaker 1
Yeah. Yeah. It's a good scene. What? Speaker 0
It is a good scene. I'm not saying you're wrong. Speaker 6
It's springtime. Chad's got springtime. Speaker 1
It's a good scene. I don't know what you're talking about. Speaker 0
scene. You're just you're just adorable, Chad. Speaker 6
Oh, Schnur gets one. Fuck you, Schnur. Speaker 1
Fuck you, Schnur. Speaker 12
Nice work, gems. Speaker 6
Oh, there's Pam. Now Hitch is happy. So it's his turn turn to score. Once again, he makes that water bottle fly. Like stupid Delaney scores. Speaker 4
And they don't even have ladies show. Speaker 6
They're already there. This is my favorite part of this whole thing. In comes Laura. Does Shorzy score? No. He doesn't score. He does what he does best. Fucking dirty fucking player. Speaker 0
What big? Be consistent. Speaker 2
All boys, try to Speaker 6
dirty This is Brad Marchand with this story. Here's where Speaker 2
we need you, boys. We need you right fucking now. Right here in the third. Right? Speaker 12
We need everybody going here in the third. Everything you fucking got. Speaker 0
I love this moment here. This whole hand held. Speaker 12
Everything you got. Speaker 12
all captured out there. Here we fucking go now. Speaker 1
This this this moment right here is probably my favorite. Just the crew. Speaker 6
Oh, there's Mercedes. I love this because she doesn't even pay him any attention. But he's he's lights out anyway. Look at him. And Brit and Melody. So you know what's coming up next. Goody to dolo, Dolo to Goody. Goody starts. Speaker 4
I love I love when Mercedes shows up that they're not playing so poorly that they get so many shots from Speaker 6
And double scores. And the Blueberry Bulldogs become the greatest team in no show history. In a way. Oh, Remy's Remy grabs Benny's toupee. Love these flashbacks. And two days later Speaker 5
How you feeling? Speaker 2
I'm still drunk. Speaker 7
We'll get it out of you now. You've gotta keep this heater going through playoffs. Speaker 2
Don't worry, Nat. We're winning the no show and going to the national senior tournament. And so it was Schnur who was fucking you. Speaker 7
I was fucking him. Whatever. So all the boys got their girls there? Speaker 2
Nat, I think at the end of the day, that's all Speaker 9
any of us are really playing for. Speaker 7
You're gonna win as a ship. Speaker 2
We'll never lose again. Speaker 7
What if I told you you could do it all on home ice? Speaker 2
Last time I checked, you were ten k short Speaker 9
of the necessary fifty k. Good effort, but still an l. We got the fifty. Speaker 7
Sue Hunt. I think their fans must have really loved your calendar shots blown up like that. Every fan in the ring bought one. Speaker 7
Enough to clear fifty k. We made our bid for the national senior tournament and we got it. The best hockey teams in Canada coming here to play for the national title against you in Sudbury. You got anything to say? Speaker 12
Let's set the fucking toe. Speaker 4
was one fucking expensive calendar. Speaker 6
I think I think the the other team bought them up because they needed, you know, stuff for their dart boards. But, alright. Last one here, Chad. Why'd you pick it? You're getting you're getting roasted, by the way, in the livestream because of all the the lovey dovey picks you picked. But, man, this is a hockey show. It's a Speaker 1
hockey show. You would've Speaker 1
was a could yeah. Speaker 6
You would've thought it was a wrong comp. Speaker 1
Said the hockey. There's some hockey players. They played the hockey ball fuck thing. I don't know. And, I mean, it's just, like, the whole it's everything culminates in this of the season to this, like, moment. And, I mean, it's the biggest game of their of their careers, of their lives. So Yeah. And it pays off, I guess. Speaker 6
So Yeah. It's a great scene. Of course, it's a perfect pick. I'll let Tanya talk about the song. But, just, yeah, fun time, and, yeah, thank you for picking a hockey scene to to end it. Otherwise, people might think Shores is a rom com. But, Speaker 1
what kind of is, though. Speaker 6
Well, this season, it was for sure. Yeah. Well done. Matt? Speaker 0
Yeah. I think, you can't release this episode as Jersey's season two best moments. It should be like Jersey season two love between the pipes or something like that. Speaker 1
I know. That's that's after season three. It's That's after season three when Speaker 0
we get Shorzy. It's more fitting. I mean, it's an amazing I called it, but it's amazing choice. You set the tone. You had a pattern, and you finished it off with your correct choice on what you showed us. So Yeah. I I applaud I applaud what you did there, my friend. But it's a great, great, great, great fucking ending to that to that whole season. Speaker 4
Yeah. You you, brought the balance to the force for the final scene, because it was, tipped in the wrong direction, for a little while. But, Speaker 1
I had to get some hockey in there for you. Speaker 4
No. No. And then and, that that was a, you know, that was the, collage or whatever we call those Montage. That montage. I like it. I like the two d world. Mhmm. And it was it was exactly again, kind of like the earlier scene from before, like the love letter to hockey, right? I mean, it was just such a great ensemble of scenes, together that just, you know, good vibes and and, just really, really good. I don't have any other words. Speaker 6
Okay. And, Tanya, before we you you say something, Awesome has a fun fact. That was not the original song for the credits. So I guess, and she says, Shorzy is totally not a a rom com. Yeah. So, apparently, they had a different song, but, I'm I'm pretty sure you're happy they chose that one. Speaker 3
Oh, that was the most perfect number one ever. That song is, like, with me daily. If I am in a bad mood, that song lifts me, and it is the perfect, Speaker 1
That's a great song. Speaker 3
Number one to end such a wonderful like, every single clip was just happiness. It was just there was there was no there was just it just made me smile more and more, and it's it is. It was such a great season and, so much love and so much, that quick banter and wittiness and we're and just it was pure fun. It was just pure fun. And that last, clip was just pulling it all together and just showing us just. And I love the flat the little fast clips at the end of that song too, just Speaker 3
Highlighting that whole that whole thing. Speaker 6
Flashbacks that Matt hates? Speaker 3
Yeah. I I think it was hello? So perfect. Speaker 6
Alright. Great. Before Yeah? Speaker 1
Before we end Oh, yeah. I wanna I wanna shout out some of the other ones. I had sixteen, other episode or moments that I had that were on the cutting floor that were like, I like this moment, but it's not a top set. And any of the Jory interviews, they're great. But I like, I don't know. Sometimes they get annoying. So So do you like Speaker 0
the Jory ones or you don't like the Jory ones? I think Speaker 1
they're good, but, like, I don't know. They're they're not they're not, like, you know, one shot. The the it was it was either gonna be the first Jory interview or that one shot, and I just had I had to leave that one shot in for the, like, just the camera work and that. So, when Schnur and Nat first meet, that just like, watching Nat just kinda, like, realize that she's gotta fuck this guy. The Jim Cherps in season in episode two at the beginning there, That's great. The Wilson Belson Wilson Belson Wilson and Wilson scene where, Remy was trying to get those names correct. Oh, wait. No. It wasn't Remy. Was it Remy? Speaker 1
You're asking. Was trying to Speaker 1
Yeah. I'm trying to remember people's names. Okay? Yeah. That was just a hilarious scene. The main advantage party is great. I just I, again, couldn't keep the whole get couldn't keep the whole scene in there. Didn't wanna make this look ten hour episode for Al. So and then, the just the cold open for episode six with the spray tan is is also Speaker 6
pretty good. The spray tan was a really good one. Yeah. Speaker 6
Well, you did you made great picks. And you know what? It was thematic. It's spring, so you picked the the perfect ones for Speaker 6
Yeah. Correction in the livestream, Austin wants me to know that the Joji song was always there. She's talk she's talking about the song that happens right at the end when, Nat's talking to Shorzy is supposed was supposed to be something different. So, correction there. I wanna make sure we get that factually right because, Tanya loves that song so much. Before we go to final thoughts, I just wanna really quickly play the teaser that dropped, mostly for Tanya's benefit, that dropped yesterday for the Shorzy season three. Speaker 3
That's dishwasher. Stop. And shows, shows teaser trailers. Speaker 3
I said empties dishwashers and show show some teaser trailers. Yeah. Speaker 6
I'm a romantic too. So here's, the teaser. Speaker 0
It's basically edging trailers. Speaker 6
Yeah. We got Mercedes dancing in front of the DJ, Fritz. Melody. And then we have Shorzy doing the running man. Hitch doing the robot. Don't look grooving. I love the chicken wing. Speaker 1
I like the gym's and just the class. Speaker 6
And then fish dropping the trophy at the end. It's so good. So there you go. I don't know what any of that means, except they have a trophy, so they win something, and that's probably part of their, celebration. But, yeah, if they keep on dropping the teaser a week before they they launch, we're gonna see most of the scene most of the season by May twenty fourth. Alright. Chad, great job. Thank you so much for doing this again, and, I guess this is gonna be the what we do from now on. You're gonna come in and tell us, you know, the best the most romantic parts of Shorzi. Maybe we Speaker 1
have the best moments. Okay. Speaker 0
We didn't know you were a love guru, Chad. I don't know. I appreciate it. Speaker 1
It was great, though. I'm trying to say. Speaker 6
Time for final comments. Victor, you're first. Speaker 4
Yeah. Chad. I can't say fuck you, Chad, today. You did a good job. Speaker 4
leave that for Matt. You know, you did your homework. Even if you kind of just cramp last night and what have you, I'm not gonna Speaker 6
Chad's been a busy boy. Alright? Let's not talk about that. Speaker 4
I'm not gonna throw any shade. You know? It's it's it's you did a good job. This was fun. And, to our friends from Massachusetts, we're we're coming we're coming over for game seven, so get ready. Speaker 6
Yes. Our friends from Massachusetts. Alright. Dan. Oh, she's on it. Oh, Speaker 3
woah. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. It's it's been a it's been a long week. Speaker 3
Not you. It's me. This was perfect. Thank you so much, Chad. I I needed this. This was such a a great way to, round out the the end of this week. I just I I loved it so much, and I'm so excited and so stoked to watch, the next Shorzy. I'm I'm sad, though, that we don't get to to start reviewing it right away and, that that there'll be a delay. Speaker 6
To wait for the Americans to get it. You know? Speaker 3
That needs to be corrected. We need to we need if there's people that we should be talking to, we should talk to them and No. Speaker 2
No. It's it's as it Speaker 6
should be. Canada should get it first. So, sorry, guys. You'll get it eventually. Speaker 3
Yeah. Looking forward to it. And, yeah. Thank you so much. Speaker 6
Yes, Chad. Great job, bud. Thank you for doing this, and, I loved your picks. I I I'm with you. I love all the Laura Moore Shorzi scenes. So, they may be giving you the hard time in the live stream and later in the in the after show. Speaker 4
I've been giving him a hard time all day. Speaker 6
Yeah. But, I appreciate you and your picks. Thank you so much. Matt? Speaker 0
So I'm not gonna say fuck you, Chad, because that would just be rude to me to say fuck you, Chad. You brought the Speaker 1
love tonight. Twice there. So Well, Speaker 0
I was just using it in context. I wouldn't actually say fuck you, Chad. Like Speaker 1
There's three You Speaker 0
know, take it as you lead it, Ben, as you need to, man. But, you know, you brought it. I think you've won the hearts of our listeners even more, even though some of them might say, fuck you, Chad. But I wouldn't. So thank you for what you did tonight. The love was there. I can't wait to see season three. I and it's funny. Actually, it does get me stoked for where this story is going, especially Laura Moore and Shorzy. I, I I'm I'm expecting, like I said earlier, a turn Mhmm. Of some sort through, I think, you called it some of it, his, coming to grips with age and everything. I I I think you're on to something there, But, no. You showed up, Chad. Fuck you. Speaker 1
Thank you for having me again. I love coming on the podcast and taking over not anytime soon. But, it was a this was, this was a fun time. Yeah. I love Shorts. It's my favorite show. So Speaker 6
Really? Like, more than Star Wars shows? Really? Speaker 1
It's my favorite show. So yeah. Speaker 6
Wow. That's that's saying something, man. Because you're in a room full of Star Wars paraphernalia. Speaker 3
Are movies. Those aren't shows. Speaker 1
But there's also movies and shows, but, like There's a whole empire now. You see what I did? Yeah. I Speaker 0
I'm proud of that one. Speaker 6
Again, thanks a lot for doing this, bud, and, it was a lot of fun. And I'm gonna play a soft here, and we've already heard the song tonight, but we're gonna hear it one more time. Your Man by Joji. Speaker 3
Let's just all go to the bar and just, like, dance. Speaker 3
Let's just dance. Even in slow motion. I don't care. We Speaker 0
reenact our own versions of some of these slow mo songs, but in some Speaker 1
Yeah. You run back. Speaker 13
Would you go again? Don't be down when it's over, baby. Speaker 6
Carry the sun into the after Speaker 4
Tanya will be in a Speaker 6
And that's all we have for this episode. Don't know what we're doing next week quite yet. I'm still waiting to see what, what inspiration is gonna hit. Also, you can follow us on all social media outlets at protosampod. Thank you for joining us. Now we're gonna go to continue the after party and dance in slow motion with the rest of the degens.
