Now I know what you're thinking there are many other Letterkenny podcasts out there, but this one is interviewing our third slot in two weeks. I am now your host and joining me in the room. As always as lovely tan and online, we have the verbose Victor, and joining us this week. He was a third-round draft pick by the Nashville. Predators in 2013, he's an actor. A hip-hop artist, but we know and love him as one of the slots on Shore Z, please join me in making some noise for Jonathan ismaeel. Dee da ba Ka Jo. Dolo wondrous. Oh my God. Wait, wait, wait, wait. I regret nothing. Welcome to the produce. Stand. And before we begin, what do you want us to call you Jonathan? Joe Dola. Whoa. Would you stop to you guys? But the homies call me doll. Oh, don't look. All right. Thank you so much for joining us dolo. It's an honor to have you here sir. Yes, sir, Pleasures. Mine. Now I noticed you're in a really cool. Looks like it's a recording studio, which is like one of my, one of my favorite places to be in the world, is in the recording studio is that? You're recording studio. Yeah, that's my. That's my studio last. As soon as we own, we just opened up for the clients like a year ago. So nicely like this, we have. But otherwise it's been a, it's been our HQ for the past four or five years. I would say. All right now, is that the same one shot in episode 1, dash or Z? But from the other side is that your control room? Exactly? Yeah. That's Yeah, I could show you like real quick. That's oh, wow. That's a sweet setup. I am jealous. Very nice. So, where were you speaking to us from? Montreal, actually South Central. So a little bit of self or much you out. All right. And is that home? Is that where you grew up? Yeah. That's where I grew up. That's where I was born and then I moved to Africa for a year or two when I was really young. Okay, back here to start school and so after that I moved throughout hockey and s*** but yeah, our much you are based out of much young stuff. That's why we are. All right well, and we will get to the like the shore Z stuff later but right now we will learn a bit more about you. Because, yes, I mean, you are a hockey player. How did you get into hockey? And you like, okay, you're born in Montreal, but you came for you, you move to Africa for a while. How old were you? When you came back from Africa? I was, I was about 23 years old, you know, I was really young still. Okay, so I got into hockey because pretty much everybody was playing, sure. Not gonna, we're gonna, you know, we're Canadians. Everyone's playing hockey and stuff. I like my dad was to play. Used to play soccer. It was a big soccer player, but I didn't really, I played a couple years, but I wasn't my thing. So everybody I play hockey. So I did, I was about eight years old. You know, that's what I got into the game pretty much. So just kind of everybody was playing. Yeah, I mean, so that means the athleticism that you got from your father, was your mom at an athlete at all or yeah. My mom was a swimmer. You know, she's not that big of an at least nowadays. But yeah, back in the day she was a big swimmer. Sure. So yeah, you had good genes do so. So hockey was kind of natural choice being in Montreal, very good. And when I mean, when you got started, Stood, like you became pretty Elites, I mean, to be drafted, how did that go for you? Hola, as I was a bit too crazy Journey. Actually. You know, I was my dream when I was young. I always wanted to play hockey and then I got two pros and things got. I mean, I was really grateful at first but then things got kind of complicated for me and stuff and decided to come back home. But it was, you know, it's like a dream came true, you know, II accomplish the dream, I accomplished a goal. I want to As a kid, I came back but honestly, you know, it's like there's a big leaves like that, we made it, you know, it's right. Beautiful from yesterday's experience, you know, but a lot of ups and downs but it was a really nice experience for show. So I mean, I looked at your hockey stats and forgive me for my ignorance. When is it considered a pro like you played in qm AAA then you play qmjhl? That's All Junior, right? That's all Junior exactly until I got to the age, then I played the HL and ECHL, right? Okay. Guess you worth Milwaukee in Cincinnati. A challenge ECHL, exactly. Very cool. Walkie was Nashville's farm team. I think, yeah, exactly. Oh, I see. And it's Cincinnati. Was what? Like, just the level below a gel. Yeah, exactly. Okay. It's like f****** Farm teams Farm too bright, right? It's the ECHL. That's where the Orlando Solar Bears play. Okay. Wasn't that? To the ECHL. That was a pretty tough league, right? I feel like that was, like, that League was known for a lot of like Fighters and stuff. Yeah, a lot of fight, it was a lot of fighting. I was doing pretty good actually, you know, I was not, I was not afraid of nobody, but it was a pretty tough League. Actually ya chump stuffable. It's not like older guys. Okay, more experienced guys, but I am in the process, the pros, you know, like it's a different level for sure. But your you were the playing D the whole time, right? Yeah. Yeah. So your stats. Your stats, don't be misled by the That's right. Because these are not supposed to put up points, but you always had a good number of penalty minutes. Yeah, exactly. And this is my first two Junior years, you know, like you're missing the to other years, but I played for years Junior. So you're missing like two seasons there way to go there, Victor. You had one job, man. You know what? The reason I put that up, it's literally the only hockey card that I could. So that's the back of a hockey. Yeah, I am not sure. I can guide you can find. Yeah. But I found that one. So there you go. Okay, what we're referring to because this is an audio-only podcast is Vicki. That Victor's background is the back of dolos hockey card from when he was with the Victoriaville Tigres. Alright Tigers yes. Yeah, very good. So I mean, let us get the heavy stuff out of the way because we want to talk about the latest stuff but I mean we can't really tell your story without talking about. I mean and it's mentioned you know, in Shore Z the footage of you going into the stands and stuff that's all real footage. So when did this happens? So that There was a racist incident at a game and the cause was so that happened. So pretty much sorted, long story short, after my Pro years, when I came back home, I decided to play in Semi-Pro, hot Semi-Pro League? That's called North American Hockey League. If I am not mistaken it's like a freshly collecting. Yeah, as we go there and play on the weekends, get a paycheck. Come back. But yeah, I guess some people that are asked my parents in the stands and I would f****** Throne like racial slurs and bunch of things like a game prior at that event. And then, yeah, that was like the game of the second game against them. And then it was a big thing. I had spoken to the commissioner and the fans weren't supposed to be allowed in the rink and like had scored a goal and then that a little, some guy wanted to fight me. Then I went to the Penalty Box it and some father came out, instead of yelling some bunch of stuff (so) than the ivory I was like, yo Commissioner wanted to show because they just yeah the allow the people to come back side of y'all give him a show you know I will try to f*** him up. Yeah and yeah that's what happened and then bunch of things happen but it was mostly just racial slurs you know like a bunch of f****** yes. Is this horrible? And I mean it's in the news again now so it hasn't really changed. So one of our listeners questions to you was if you have seen any improvement over when you were playing, or do you think it's still kind of the same? That's the Kind of the same thing animal. And it's like, I mean, the league I was in believe that this happened is in Quebec. It's a Quebec League, you know which but like it's different from like the pros and everything. But I have been like I was still lots of issues in the protein or like still mainly like white sport. Sorry if I didn't, I mean, but yeah, absolutely didn't feel like it's not I think back when I was playing then on and it wasn't it's not even like black or f****** agent or whatever, it's non-white. It. Yeah, the people there the players that We're non-white. It was 3%, anything back when I was playing. Yeah, well, I guess not a lot of like, you know, it's still there World, whatever, you know. Like so you have to abide by these rules or whatever, but it's a lot of things that I have been that's kind of. Yeah, I looked this up just so you know, see where we are now and it right now. It's like less than 7% identified as non-white, which is a very low number. And it's kind of like a catch-22, right? You can say well, it's a white sport. Because there's not enough other I guess minorities that play in it. But then other minorities don't play in it because they don't feel welcome. So it's you know, so I you know that maybe will change 50 years from now but it's not going to happen overnight. Yeah, it was also that like, just let me know, hockey sticks are like $400 f******, yeah, it's an affluent game. It's an expensive game for everybody. Exactly. So, so that's why there's a lot of improvements there. Tell there's a lot of movement. Lots of explosions that I do a nice movement. You know, like hitting stores. Did you guys the black guys to they got a group, I forgot what it f******, but they go, but duclair my dumb, but against her playing doing nice things. So, yeah, we're getting there as well, we're getting there, you know, for sure. Now, so you were playing this Ln, H h8, H League, that's the Gobekli. You were playing for a couple of years, right up until the 2020, right? That was the last, you played Pro, right? Right up to covid-19 covid happen. Then I was like that. So like just took him up and then shows he came and stuff. So I was like let us focus on the better things you know. Okay so is that why you? So you quit, I mean covid you stop playing because of covid basically or were? Yeah but I had to stop, you know, I still wanted to play then at the stop and then a I was at home I was in the studio and stuff, and I was like that, it's time for me anymore, you know, I like it's not worth it to go back and play for m************ that it's cute. People that don't want me to play, you know, like it's absolutely makes no sense more like so what did that make it easier to leave hockey? Then I mean it's a sport, you have played your entire life show, show fish. Like I already had like a love and hate relationship with the sport. You know? I love from prose but that was just like the cherry on top of the f*** there. Sunday. You know, I was just enough I like that. It's enough for me is just focus on different things and now I am enjoying what I am doing, you know? Yeah, living a life. Laughs and it's been f****** for years now, almost. So let us press. Okay, sounds good. Go ahead. Felt like yeah. Before we move on, from hockey, like I have two more questions for you. Just for the hockey fans out there one is when you were a kid and you were still excited about hockey and you weren't thinking about any of this garbage who were some of the players that you looked up to. Oh yeah, great question. And then I have a follow-up that with one more question, there wasn't that many players I was blown away by Alex kovalev. I really like this style. Instead of gaming stuff. Sure, but I related, more to Dion Phaneuf bignell. Yeah. Big guy looking up to back in the days when it was Calgary — cat was f****** monster. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It is something else. So I like that was my era when I was young and like starting to like, take hockey more seriously, and I was like looking up the guys and here's a guy that I was trying to play like a game Thanks for sure. And so now that you're kind of moving on from hockey, are you do you think you can still kind of enjoy it as a fan or it just too much bad taste for? You know, I can enjoy, you know, like playoff comes start tuning in more, you know, but I am like, I am getting busy here. I am saying, we busy in that like, entertainment business and stuff. So, like, it's not much time to just sit around and f****** watch hockey, whatever, you know, for me, I could actually do it, but I take my time with different things, but like I said, that I am still a fan, you know, I am still a die-hard much y'all found, you know, like, playoff comes, it's my team, good overall, until the end, I am sure your other. You have other good qualities, but we can't abide by — yeah. It's crazy because like its kind of weird because my entire life was based on hockey. Well, like literally, I like my life, my heart. She was my life for a long time, you know? But yeah, man, I just kind of turned my back to doing my thing. But, Yeah bro. I am going to watch a game and a couple of weeks with the boys, and we're going to actually catch the ABS and get still leaves. You know, I am still a good file of the game well, and they just announced your former team in Milwaukee. They just announced a short easy night. So I guess this is a thing backwards. I am going back to Milwaukee, amazing, they're not going back for a different for what I am trying to do for real, you know, so blessed, I am grateful for everything, honestly, that's very nice. So when the dub music become an Interior life. That was always like a part of my life, you know, I was always a big music fan, always just a minute, but then I got when I am, when I sent my card, my contract, my first hockey contract, I had a friend that was kind of in and out of b******* and a bunch of stuff, and I kind of put money, aside for him to get like studio equipment, put him in the studio. So that was my first experience with, like a Like the making of you know like that at the behind-the-scenes of all this stuff and I really enjoyed like all the process and everything. So I think it was my second Pro year. I got my third Pro here, I think I got a little setup back in Cincinnati to record myself a bunch of things. So I started taking it more seriously and then when I decided that I wanted to leave, it was easy. It was just let you. Let us get some money, open the studio and just do it, you know, and ever since then I have been like going hard like Seven, it's my day job, you know, like they really don't do nothing else. But yeah. So it's been like 45 years, you know, just like just a little bit before hockey, I started making music here. Very good at. Now, when you kind of told your teammates, hey to you, I am Jonathan, but I am dolo and check out my now, you didn't. That's like an actual f*****-up thing, though. Like, I still had a year on my contract, right, Nashville. And I was, Just fed up with Hakeem, and I was just like, so, like everything is pissing me off. So I finished the year in Cincinnati and I don't know if you're familiar with it but like they call this black cases. So like at the end of the year, let us see you in the farm team. At the end of the year. If your NHL team is still like playing, you can go up and practice with the guys and do all the stuff, right? So I was like I was in Cincinnati, so I was going to be a black case in Milwaukee. And I looked at the roster they already had, I think it was nine defenseman on the roster at the time. So I knew I was going to play, Maybe One game just for the guys could like he's up before playoffs, you know? And I was like not with it. I was just so fed up, so I literally just I call my agent. I was like, you can I just leave that? What happens if I leave? You said, you will come back home, we will do some paperwork, whatever, but we can terminate your contract, you know, right. And like, you all know money. Whatever. Last, so I just literally you, I That was in Cincinnati. I drove like six hours to Milwaukee empty, my apartment dropped out to Michigan step there for a couple hours and came back home and that's like the next day, like, your everybody was looking like, the didn't know, I didn't talk to anybody actually, literally haven't liked to this day, the light, like till the day. They called me to see if I wanted to go back for sure, tonight. I haven't spoken to anybody of the organization. That's real or Milwaukee, I spoke to a couple, guys, but That was about it, you know, Andrew who plays goody on shores of, who's your teammate then as well. No. No. Come on, Tracy was 0 because isn't he also going for that joisey night in Milwaukee on because I don't know, I guess, f*** it, I don't know. Okay, we will have to ask him then what, when we hopefully will get him on, and we can ask me, I think they were like the asked me to ask the guys or whatever and like all Cara which is produced. Just handle this for us, you know? And then they fire came much later. You're going to address. All right, it's over. Oh great. So okay, this is a little bit of an embarrassing question because I am a musician and I, you know, the dream back then, you know, 20 years ago was, I wanted to be just like you with a recording studio and everything but I don't, you know, my, you know, hip-hop and rap aren't my main genres. What's the difference? Are you a hip hop artist? I rap artist or what's the It's still wrapped his hip. Like hip-hop would be the culture, right? Okay, pop. It's like a, it's a bunch of disciplines. You have MC and if graffiti, you have dancing DJing and beatboxing. All right, so I see Bob's a pot, right? So I am wrapping because I am seen, you know, at the beginning I would be an MC right now. We call it like he's a rapper or whatever but no there's no difference between hip-hop and rap. You know I am saying? This is pretty much the same thing here at is. The pop culture. Pretty much good, because when I was writing your intro, I am like, is he a rap artist? A hip hop artist. I didn't want to insult. You by saying one and you're the. All right, so amazing. All right, well let us get into the show. I mean so you have you retired from hockey? You have got this music career going, how do you meet Jared Kisa, where do you meet Jared? Honestly, I don't mean I, he sees my guess is he's f****** everything happening, on the news, or whatever. Because in Quebec him, a kind of pretty big deal, right? And yeah, he's daring Mac, which is a matte girl to, so he lives in Montreal. So I guess he's heard of all that, and he's a hockey f****** nerd. So he I guess he saw that and then yeah, I never met him actually. I guess he saw me in the street one day. He saw you told me that first day on set is like you, I saw you One day and the street and I wanted to come up to you and tell you I was making the best hockey shoe ever, but I was I didn't want it like I didn't want to spoil you whatever. So I so wait, your first time meeting Jared Kissel was on set with like week before about how I met him on the zoom, right the week, while I was in Sudbury type of thing room. Wow. Okay. Having to be like I said A week ma'am. Yeah. Times kind of maybe a month or whatever it was, Kara, Kara. How did I meet you Instagram? That was kind of crazy to my dad had passed by that was African. So I went back to Ivory Coast to bury em and stuff, right? And message me through Instagram, the second day I did they after the f****** funerals, I think. Yeah. Oh wow, this is a joke. Sure that you all have this big TV opportunity for you, but I thought it was a joke. I didn't answer. Then the she messaged, like Mighty my camera guy, and then he was like, yo, this girl is trying to, she should, I talk to you for real? You know? So then I spoke I took the phone and I spoke to And she was like, yo, are you like to play yourself in Letterkenny spoon off blah. I was like, what the hell? But I mean, so I mean I didn't have any point. Did you ever like Did you ever have any aspiration to be to get into acting like? Yeah, you did. I did like couple gigs here and there by here, you know, I did that does another hockey show that people did here call The Domain deism like French thing. I was on that. Okay. So did another thing called f*** what was it? You girls that was a hip-hop thing I did that. So like And I love talking to make music and kind of be in the entertainment business. Right, right. Okay, you know, and also every video like he's a fan to like the music a little bit, you know, I did festive, all this other s***. So like all the videos we made in producing ourselves to select, he knows, I like he knew I wanted to like, be in that business whatever. So you kind of just do. So when we pause there for a second will come back to key. So tell us about your videos, like, how much creative do you have over it? Because, you know, I watched a few of the other your videos. On YouTube and dad are actually really good. Is that you or they're kind of other creatives? Yeah. No, it's me. And, and the camera guy, pretty much, you know, the team we sit down, and we just go crazy on the scripts or whatever, you know. And, but I wrecked, I work with the same two guys. I have been working for the same two guys. So it's been the same team for a little bit. So we kind of know how to roll but yeah, I create I directive all of my videos myself with the homies, you know. So, Yeah, and we even made a, but that's not how you will probably be out within the next year, but now it's running in festivals. We made a short movie called black to the Future, that's running in festivals right now. Cool. So that's going to come out maybe hopefully next year but as yeah I have always liked loved all the they're like directing the ever like a background education and not like I mean people go to school for this stuff so you know, going to school for this s***. I don't. You just earned yourself with good. Yeah, it was no time for school. You know? It was like I was 16 and my coaches was like your school is school if you, if you had a bad game because the school is like, drop out of school. No, that's what the coaches youngster, like the school wasn't, you know? So you're in Montreal. So, you're perfectly bilingual. And I mean, I have heard a lot of your tracks and it's almost a 50/50 split between French and English. Well, first of all, what do you thinking? What language do you think in English or French and depends on a date? Really based on a day? It's like, it's crazy. But like you said, much y'all like much all super bilingual. Yeah. But they're not in the state's life. For your so, like when I was in the states, my mind, my whole mind switch to English, you know, that's when I realized, I started calling my mom, like, my hair is like mama, you know, but like I said, I got my mom, right? That's what I was like, oh, f*** something is changing, she said you're changing, you're changing dollars. Stop changing. Yeah, you know like I would hit my toe on the corner, whatever it back into know. My maybe topic Mac when I started saying, f****** and she was like oh yeah. Well the reason I am asking those because so what would be what's that? Would you find is the hardest to write in English or French for hip-hop, right? Like I can't imagine how I started writing in English because my mind was in English. Okay, yeah, honestly, it's diff like, I am having fun. Like I said this, I don't know. It depends on the day like, you know, I tried not to force like I that's something I am actually learning as we speak still because the French part is still kind of new to me and I started making it doing in English but now I know I can do it in French. Sometimes tonight's like, Managing my time and all that s***. But I am like, yeah, you know, like managing will sometimes do fresh will sometimes do an English. Yeah, we will keep times to just create with whatever comes, you know, but we're already in French. I am you got to conjugate that s*** in French, right? So that's got to be tough but it's another yeah, it's another discipline. It's fewer Falls and it's more like syllables and bright. Like the diversity of words, you know, it's more words in French sled. It's might be easier just because everything ends in a bit so is he Rhyme? But maybe not syllables. But yeah, but it was not racist. I shouldn't have said that. A no, no, it's cool though. It's yeah it's like what Charlotte's like this because really, we saw bilingual here, you know, it's like different type of culture here. Oh my God. Yeah, so you get approached by a camera and Jared's that the sky, you have never heard it before? Like, did you were even aware of Letterkenny? Or is that? I need to know what letter, Kenny's know. Like, Like she was like yo she's like I am doing Letterkenny didn't I am late? Hold on I have to go and it watches it. I don't know what the f*** you're talking to me about. Yeah, then I saw me when I Googled, okay. That's what I have been seeing because like you know I mean like I seen the s*** around Chernobyl you know what it was and then I was a huge know, I was like f***. I think I told her like, let us get it or something like that. You know that she's dead of laughing. She's like. Well, that's new. I was like, yeah, this get it. Yeah, whatever I came back to it because I was in Africa. So I came back to Canada. Came back to Montreal was on like bigger calls and other s*** and then got this crib and all that and then you're always doing. This thing is crazy. Now, Letterkenny is very kind of Ontario Centric. Especially did, did you understand it? Like or is it a lot of stuff that just yeah. Yeah I do like that was in Wisconsin Dent like I was can't a healing places where well f****** speak different you're like yes so maybe I Sometimes I have to, like, you know, take a second to pick it up but no, no, it's fine. It's like, see my old taraj like my family don't really understand it. You know, that's what's funny to, you know, it's like sure he's so funny, but they won't understand everything. You know, it's like his jokes. Yeah, so, all right, you're now you're in your intro, Z your acting is yourself. I mean, first of all, that, that had to be a little flattering. I mean that they basically wrote this part that's based its you they wrote you into the story. Yeah, that was f****** cool. I am not gonna lie, it was like win for me, you know, because I love f****** professional hockey to build this brand. There's no retinol and now that this guy was like, you know, I would you like to just come and be up to yourself, you know. Yeah, pretty huge for me. That was, yeah, that was made for me and part of the, I mean, the deal. Was it, that did he did Jared say, hey, we want to feature some of your music in the soundtrack. Or was that something that kind of that came afterward, came after? Yeah, that came afterwards, it was At first, it was only like, are you down with the project? Can I keep writing, you know, a script, but your name and your entity and all this stuff and then I don't know when the mute I think when I got the script. Yeah, like maybe two or three months prior to put the shooting, everything is just laid down and then that's what I saw like feel blessed by Joel. Oh no, and I was like oh f*** that's the opening comments. We figured all the paperwork and all this stuff but yeah it was like I didn't know. So it was already there idea that they were going to use some of your music and yeah, it was his idea. I think it kind of makes sense, you know if you're gonna bring in still like this rapper guy like hockey make sense to some of the music to be, I was not, you know, going to say anything. But yeah, I was just so grateful. I saw that. So there's Phil blessing, that's the intro episode 2, and I was also no discussion. And so to also, and there's a song that plays in the background episode, 6 also, so as and that Jared, Call me one day I was here. Actually I am here every day I was here, and he was like, you will remember that scene at the apartment but otherwise like I am wondering what song to put, you know that I send them like f****** I think 10 songs, you know, and he was like that just pick your song. I was like, I will keep that and then I said, like all daddies, like I that's do it. So it was from that was kind of cool, you know, for me to have this little kind of creative saying it and all that was amazing actually. Now, one of the things I love about what they do in short she is, it's a perfectly bilingual show in that you speak only French for the most part. I mean, every once in a while you will drop some English and that's very impactful, but you speak French, and they don't even try to translate anything you do. It's just if you don't understand, you don't understand. Like it's yeah, I love it. Yeah, I love you, too. I, it shows what Canada is, you know, she was like, I think even on set. Was funny because something like, the cast doesn't speak French. You know, like Jesse speaks French, but they're f****** there. He doesn't speak French, you know, I can't. Yeah. Like that's what I would talk. But the thing we had to repeat sometimes because you have to sometimes practice because they didn't know what the f*** I was saying. So they know when to come in, you know, it was funny. Your, when you hear that sound, that's why they come with you, he's fine when he was saline. Dion part that the only part that you ever said in English? Those seven. I said that, don't impress me much, or something like that, right? Then I think at the end who is When Shores he's puking at the end like yeah, I will ask about forget what I forget, what it forgets what it is think we have to leave an impression or some s*** like that. Yeah we got even depression some say well I mean the beauty of having you only ever speak French as when you do drop anything in English it's more impactful. It's you know it hits differently, right? Honestly Jared Bruce he's I keep telling her all this guy's a genius man. F****** But what he writes, everything the wages thinks of everything, you know, all these little aspects are just like so important, but he thinks of a mall and creates an amazing show them. Yeah, well, we had your buddy Max bouffard on last week, dude, and, and he said that you guys have become pretty good friends, pretty tight. You spent a lot of time together, we'd together? Yeah, and we asked him this question. We asked Terry this question as well. We had Terry on last Thursday, so I think we're going to get Like, a bit of a consensus from all the s**** bowl or Noble when you eat a stick. Depends on whom you are. I mean, I will go to the bull. Oh, really? Oh, come on. Now, here's a culture. No, no, that's the man answer here about. I am assuming I speak my truth. No, it's because if I am at home, I am a usable really from here. But let us say we out in the room or whatever, you know, like that stick right there. You know, it is what it is, but I like it that way. I love that's considered bujji. Hey dude, specially if you're eating more than one of those sticks with all the nuts over it. Yeah, that's using a bowl. Where do you think those nuts are going to end up going to fall on the floor? Backdrop to stick on the floor? But it turned out funny because it's in the scene, and he looks like he's looking on the floor like this. Here is that hard not to laugh that hard to contain yourself. Honestly I was amazed not professional. Everybody was like not gonna lie I was truly amazed but at times like yo it was just too funny you're upset but honestly like I am the type of guy to I am an easy life like I love so easily so like I would sometimes say I was laughing when maybe I should not but not people were professional but Yeah, there's my times were like, you are, you're almost pissing your pants, you know, like you rolling on the floor and s***. Like it's like taking 5 because like, it's just too funny to guys came. So I mean, what were some of the can you talk about maybe a favorite moment on set that you can think of or, you know, a memorable moment, it was a lot. You know, I was a lot of pretty cool moments but just that just didn't like the partnership that, you know. The camaraderie have your day like and it was I mean me for I mean all this stuff is for the most part. We were not acting guys you know. And I think that was like the most enjoyable thing because we were like we all didn't know what the f*** kind of want to expect, you know. Yeah. What the f*** he was doing the tie between? Yeah, and to have like, tazzy tails on the set and like people that were really like Google Jared and stuff like that, like people like veterans, you know, like they were there. They were our veteran presence. You know, saying like yeah, every day. So that was memorable for real, for real like, just like little details like that everyday camaraderie. But it was also like hockey, guys, in a room. So it's just a bunch of f******, you know, did you have a hard time keeping, a straight face during serious shooting? Yeah, there was like this like couple times that pay. Panini, you know, couple scenes there and the seen this episode 6 in the apartment, took us a while to do, you know, when j.j. Was getting caught and all that, I think Dad comes in the apartment that we like all going, like this type of thing. Yeah, welcome surprise like that took us awhile. We had to change. Our land is because me in jail. Couldn't look at each other. It should then he was just looking that way. And then you have Vic sexual in the background. Yeah, you know like and sometimes he would forget it, you know, it's funny because T is Jacob was doing it. You know, these super on point but that she forgets it. Was Sometimes too funny to you just like it was? Yeah, let us go. All done. I asked sort of Max and I think we asked his attorney as well when you guys got on the ice. Because, I mean, the Brilliance of this show, as far as I am concerned, is his casting. Of the s****. You guys are players first and actors second. And that's what I think makes the hockey scenes look more authentic and better, right. When you guys get on the ice though, you guys are competitors, still does it get competitive? Do you guys kind of get chippy with each other on the ice? Yeah, for show is like you. There's not much room for error or else the people that, you know that you f***** up, right? It's Like it's not real games that were playing out there, you know, it's not everything is stage but like I said, it's like there's no room for ever. You need to make it past, this better be a nice pass, you know, because the gyms will let you know our f****** the gym. Never anybody all that, you know, you know? Yeah, for sure. Like I said, it's the hockey players. You know, we're still players before, it's like anything we do, it's like to the fullest. So I asked us to the other two and I won't tell you who they said but who's the best player on the ice when you guys are all on the ice? He better than the eighth overall draft. Yeah. Better than Terry. Right? I love it. I love it. That's a great answer because I think Max was very diplomatic when he said Terry because you know, he went, he went by track record, you know, being the draft pick. It's good, it's good. Isn't as good and I believe everything that it for real I am playing with Tara, but he still got it. Yeah, it's really impressed about his age to be still like in that shape, know, very good. I have got some questions here from our listeners, so I will ask them out. Well, what? Well, Dennis asks about who which is the slots is the best hockey player. So you say it's you and Kudos respect. I think they have every right to buy us about how you got started on. Musical career. But mean you started that already but so who are your influences? That's kind of part 2 of his question. Well I would say like hip-hop and because you will that being from Africa was listening to like some weird s*** when I was young sure. Yeah don't stuff like well f*** has never heard of you know. Yeah. Like hip-hop people like 50 Cent Lil Wayne Wiz Khalifas like Denzel Curry. You super nice to the stone. Little Wayne play, the guitar and everything will be all right. Yeah. Why Victor did he destroy a guitar? Something as and now there's an Infamous video clip of him. Just this, just making guitar players cry. Oh yeah, yeah, Ozzy really good. Is that? No, no, no. He's awful. Got you, okay? Exec to wrapping right. Exactly. Okay, and Tobias has got a part 3 to his question. Will you do a US tour? I think he's interested in seeing you. Live in the u.s. Yeah we're working on that right now. It's a bunch of logistics were working on but hopefully in 2023 will be making our way down to the States in 2023. That's awesome. All right and I mean I guess you can attribute I guess short easy to some of your like bringing more focus, more recognition to your music. Yeah, definitely first true like a lot of new faces, a lot of new people listening. A lot of new like, like a noise. I had a decent listening in the States but now it's like pretty big. You know? It's yeah, Brent like I can actually go and do shows and sell merch and all that stuff. So like are amazing Tracey as Tracey really lifted my career on a percent. I think when you go down to Milwaukee for your Shore Xena you should have a show like you should open it. Yeah. Work out on that. It's kind of short notice in the industry, but We will have something going for sure, but very cool, our friend Aaron. She was in light of that's right. Bless you in light of season, 11 of Letterkenny. I don't know if you have watched it yet. I haven't seen it. Listen Evan, you know, but episode 1 is all about chip flavors and Aaron wants to know what your favorite flavored chip is. If, you know the tough one because growing up, I was a ketchup, ketchup guy. Okay. Sorry, you will make less noise. That's what happens to a black man in Canada, bro. Oh Jesus, you can't use that excuse anymore. Man, you have been here your entire life. You're an f****** hockey player. Sneezing to my child. I need to move to Toronto. That's all. But yeah. What was the question? Favorite ship. Favorite chip flavor it wood chips! Get catch up when I was growing up but I like the barbecue. There you go. But he was nice but that makes it every once in a while. Our friend awesome. She, she has a couple of questions. First of all, how did it feel to have so many of your songs featured on the show? You kind of covered that but I mean, it's cool, right? It's f****** cool. And it's like we were eating, you know, because I am not doing this for the money or whatever, it's like a therapy for me, but to see that people like it and for it to be like Showcase tonight, TV shows and stuff like that. It's different It's difficult feeling for sure. Yeah, cool. Her other question and it's just her usual question because she is the moderator of the Letterkenny and Shores. Each subreddits is, I think she'd probably want to know whether you'd be interested in doing an AMA on Reddit and ask me a shout anything. Yeah. All right. I will put, I will put her in contact with you. Then when sounds good, our friend Casey, she wants to know about the first time you met Jared and Ryan? Why would he want it? She wanted a ride. Maybe she's a Your friends. Are they okay? So how do you know Ryan? Well, if I can meet him on this set actually as well. Okay, and he came in, it was like, so before shooting we there was a bunch of us that went to Subway feel like, like two weeks prior to shooting till I get on the eyes and kind of get to know each other's. That's when I met Jared first and then I met Ryan on the ice. Yeah. On the I said actually no, it was doing guys, but he came in the room. He came in the room with all his equipment then. He's started actually skating around and stuff, but that's what I met him, but Jared, I was on the ice too. Yeah, yeah. Very good. Cool. Cool practice. And then Aaron wants to know because that we had a bunch of our listeners who went up to Sudbury for the shore. Z night a few weeks ago. I was that they loved it. They had a great time and there was a bunch of people from all over the US who flew and drove up to Sudbury just for that night, and they got to hang out with Max and has great time, and they loved it. It and Aaron was one of them, and she wants to know where, you know, what was your go-to place post shoot, or he like restaurants or bar in Sudbury? Go to place. I don't even know. But I remember it was a restaurant called Shoot at Joel's, okay? They don't have those in the quick key back. She lives just okay. Yeah, they're pretty visible. Is this f****** boat? Yeah. All right, they're the go-to place was Max's. Basement mangola. We was at Max's based every week, really, every it was called the tool so you can Knock on door. I have got one last question that usually asked by our co-host who didn't make it tonight, Matt, but he always likes ask, you know, how does it feel to be part of, you know, of, basically, a cult favorite show, like, Shores E. I mean, it's only one season in but because of Letterkenny Shores. He's now got this big cult following all over the world, basically, we have got listeners from all over the planet, Australia, UK everywhere, how does that feel for you? The real man? Yeah, it's kind of, it's crazy. Like I always wanted to be. Now I always knew I wanted to like, you know, get the music going to be like get a role or whatever but I think you said this is a cult Vegas different. It's a big family, you know, and like It's for every type of thing. And I realized that when the show drop, you know, like I saw a bunch of new faces coming in and like tuning in to my music and making more than just like trying to know what the f*** I was about. Yeah, so honestly, you know, I was it was different, it was surreal like I never in a hundred years imagined I could be in a big f****** Community like that because I even saw the letter. Can you show live in Phoenix was in Phoenix? Oh yeah. You want to see it live? Yeah, sigh live. Nice. I brought Jack comes on the scene. I mean he just says, like how you know everybody says like not so bad like Bob's like, but it's different. Yeah, that's Phoenix. F****** Arizona. That's not Canada. That's yeah, yeah. I was like and the place was sold out like, bro, like I was just like, nah, this is different, you know, that's what I realized. I was like, you know, this is a grown-up cool thing and Also, just the cast and all the even like the crew, the crew, you know, people die in the scenes are just amazing. It's just one big family, you know. Yeah though, I am grateful to be on this project for sure. So how is it felt being recognized for a Char Z like fans coming up to you and there's that been, it's funny and like I see it like that. So let us say, I go to Toronto, I get stopped a lot, you know. But here it's fewer people but it's funny, bro. It's like usually it was Either for the hockey teams or like the music but not in St. Dominic. It's funny. It's funny for sure, for sure. That's great. Yeah, and the people are nice to, you know, spies it's all about pressure. All right. Well, you know, you have no I know you have got your own music to promote, but if there's anything else that you promote a line of clothing as well, don't you indeed? It's coming out January. We're going to get that out soon. What? Will the name everything is changing so everything is going to be in for clothing in Florida album. The music is out, you know, so you can go tuned in the new album. You just dropped will be releasing new music in 2023 English album to for the Maybe I am coming in 2023. USA tour, shall finger crossed. Yeah Miss. Kraus. So hopefully and I mean we won't put you on the spot because you know you can't say anything. None of us. Expect there won't be at least another two or three seasons of Shores you. So we're looking forward to seeing you on that. We're can people follow you? Where was the best place people enjoy underscore a dolo Joe dear fellow. The YouTube is the same thing, actually YouTube I do love music. So yeah, it's a grammar. You to put music Spotify? All those beautiful platforms? Yeah, that's great. Victor. Do you have any final comments or questions? Well, now he just stands. I was going to ask like, are you working on new material right now? And you know, are you? Do you generally kind of wait to put a like a traditional album out or you the worst kind of putting singles out on Spotify, the traditional album will wait for like — purposes just because like its numbers and all the s*** nowadays, you know, like so yeah, album, then you get whatever. But, so I am just gonna drop mixtapes, that's how we call the right box tapes and singles, but we're focusing on English mixtapes for February, so that will be coming up soon and then, somewhere music for the summer. Now you're going to promote by doing some shows, some live shows. Yeah, exactly. That's and so, when are we going to see you in Toronto? Yes. Yes. The snow we're working on that actually some area 2023 is looking great. So far should be across the country actually. So yeah, Mase right, I will I am putting you in charge to make sure we get tickets. How about that one? We will see you at least. Yeah, we will figure that one out. Teni. Did you have any final questions or comments? So what are you enjoying more the, the music or the acting? Or is it a mix of both, you know? Yeah, it's like you honestly the music like the music is getting stressful because now it's like the work, you know. It's like a have to f****** make it work, but the acting, it's like f****** we go there. We have fun little. So I would say I am having like, almost more fun with the acting. Yeah, maybe. Maybe I could let the music in me, isn't me? You know, it's just like okay so ask you the right? One of the episodes that will be work until gerrant, okay. So asks you to write one of the episodes then it will be work. Yeah, exactly. Got so much stuff. Like this guy, buoys is Machinery. I don't even know how he does everything like that, but he's f****** shoe in two seasons a year right into season all that. Well, that's crazy. Like this guy's role model, for sure. Yeah. So I am going to help promote your IG because I follow you on Instagram and almost daily. I am going to say it's daily. You do a live Instagram. Yeah. Chat where you're basically you're playing your music, your base. Really just doing a live IG while you're working on. If it's a pretty much what I do is I get to the studio, I light up in joint and I look at what I was doing the day before or whether I take you guys on the journey into the projects I am making as you know yeah more to go.
